39 Chapter 39 : Philosopher's Stone 4

Orion was making his way back to the third floor, moving inside the labyrinth was easy enough but his real problem was climbing back up, not having any other choice, he had to climb onto the uneven wall while also keeping enough distance from the devil's snare which by now almost looked like it was never gotten hit by the sunlight magic.
Orion now started to wonder, if Rose, Hermione and Ron came here, how the hell they were going to climb up? He decided to mark the place he was climbing from so they at least had a way to find the right path to go up, and it cost him some more time. Our MC is a considerate man after all.
Finally, when he almost reached the top, he heard someone falling, the devil's snare was lit with fire even before he could figure out who was this person, surely this couldn't be the Trio.
Orion looked down but the fire was everywhere and he couldn't see who this person was, "Well most likely it's Quirrellmort," Orion muttered and Merlin from the sideline raised his eyebrows, unlike Orion, he could fly and even bypassed the Devil's Snare on fire.
He clearly saw that it was a boy with Slytherin colour on his collar and tie. He for the first time wanted to leave Orion's side and go ahead to see what Nick was doing here but no can't do that. He can't go away from Orion after a certain distance.
Orion on the other hand didn't give it too much attention and moved on. 'Just mind your own business and you will go far in life, this advice was given to me by an elderly and I planned to follow it to the end,'.

Outside the entrance of the Labyrinth, Snape and Quirrellmort were facing each other, Snape didn't know that he was facing Voldemort and Voldemort didn't plan to tell this, as he was not assured about Snape's allegiance after all this time, if snape is not on his side then Snape can really give him a tough time on his own, he is not a first-year student, not to mention, there is dumbledore to worry about.
" I always knew that you were hiding something Quirrell, tell me, why you are here in the school, what are you looking for, or who you are looking for," Snape spoke in a very Alen Rickman way.
"What are you talking Severus, I was fighting an intruder, he was just here, surely you saw the black smoke just before," Quirrellmort said but his wand was never lowered, being Voldemort, that was not something he was willing to do.
"Then why not lower the wand," Snape said but no reply came, well after this peace was never an option.

By the time Rose, Hermione and Ron arrived in the second-floor corridor, they saw two powerful wizards colliding with each other with deadly spells.
The moment they arrived they felt a terrifying magical power in the air which made their entire body shiver in fright. This was the effect of the killing curse and the infused power of death in this particular spell.
They immediately hid behind a wall as soon as a killing curse almost hit them. Both powerful wizards were extremely aware of their surroundings and saw the three kids, Snape's heart almost sank after seeing Rose there, this was bad, he couldn't save Rose while still beating Quirrell who was suddenly much stronger for some reason.
But Snape was still stronger in this case, at first he thought that it would not be an issue for him to capture Quirrell but after those kids here, he is not sure.
Quirrellmort was getting overpowered already, he only had access to Quirrell's weak magic which was nothing compared to his real body. He was able to handle himself with his knowledge and skills but he himself understands that in front of a more powerful opponent, tricks can only help him so far.
He internally curses on his own weakness, if it continues then he has to reveal his identity to Snape and leave his fate on whether Snape is still loyal to him or not. But at that time he saw the target of his hatred, the girl who lived with the other two kids in front of him and decided to use those three kids.

"Hahaha, I am envitabl....." Orion is about to complete his Victor dialogue but his extremely sensitive magical senses catch powerful dark magic outside the room. He didn't even notice that Fluffy was already dead on this time.
He rushes out only to see Snape fighting with Quirrell. Of course, he didn't show himself, he kept hiding. ' If this guy is here, then who the fuck destroyed the Devil's Snare with fire back then,' the question arose inside Orion's head but he suppressed this, as his first priority was to get out of here.
But then he noticed that there were more people present there. Rose, Hermione and Ron were peeking out from behind a wall and he almost facepalmed.
'What are those idiots doing, why are they not running away,' Orion wanted to shout but Merlin on the side just shook his head.
Then something happened that almost gave Orion a heart attack. Quirrellmort with his magic dragged a child behind from the wall and used it as a shield against Snape.
"Hermione,"
"Let her go,"
Both Rose and Ron shouted at the same time, while Snape still had his wand pointed towards Quirrellmort. Voldemort was actually aiming for Rose but this girl ended up dragged in. And of course, he hardly cares about the life of some Mud Blood Girl, but he uses it to stop Snape.
But just when he was about to demand Snape to lower his wand he felt a movement behind him and the next second he heard a voice.
"PATT SE HEADSHOT," and then he saw a punch coming towards his face.

[Note: Avra Kedavra (The Killing Curse) is not blockable here just like in the books, movies are just all over the place with this so I am not taking their concept in here. The only way to avoid it is by doing it completely or just interrupting its path with a physical object like a wall or a table which can bear its physical damage as well, and of course there is one more way to stop this deadly curse, block the curse with another killing curse]
