2 Chapter 2

Unlike some werewolves I refused to chain myself during a full moon. The feeling of being trapped in a cage like some animal made the experience ten times worse. My solution to hurting others was simple, make sure the transformation happened far enough from people that nobody got hurt.

Usually I'd turn deep in the towns woods, drink some diluted wolfsbane to dull my senses for the night and pray nobody ran into me. Besides, I wasn't exactly spoiled for choice. The only place that could possibly hold me was the Lockwood cellar, which was on Lockwood property and who knows where that is.

This was the safest option.

Keeping an eye out the car window, it wasn't long till we reached our destination, "This is it Tyler" I sighed, relived we'd made it so early.

Sunset was still two hours away, "Really? There's nothing here but woods." Confusion was written all over his face, "Whatever. Now tell me the heck you dragged me out here. This better be good or I swear to god Shaw..." He trailed off angrily.

The upcoming full moon was clearly affecting him, even without the curse triggered. It was a miracle he'd listened to me at all in this state.

Taking a deep breath, my now golden eyes turned to meet his brown ones. Tyler jumped in shock at the intimidating hue, his hand instinctively lashing out for the door. He fumbled with the handle for a moment, panic getting the best of him.

Stumbling out in fear he tripped, roughy hitting the ground. I'd be lying if I said seeing him run didn't make me grin a little. Having already left the vehicle my inhuman agility kicked in.

I leapt impossibly high over the car, landing on top of him. My hands pinned Tyler down by the wrists, the grip being too much for the un-triggered werewolf to resist. Although that didn't stop him from struggling.

"Wha..-what the fuck are you Shaw!" He shouted, fear quickly flipping to rage.

My eyes slowly faded back to their normal dark brown. "Relax Tyler. This'll all make sense in a minute. Just relax!" I growled.

....

Silence reigned dominate in the car, nobody knowing what to say. After Tyler had calmed down I'd began telling him what I was. A werewolf.

Explaining almost everything I knew in detail and answering his questions took around an hour. The originally ignorant teen had been given an supernatural class for beginners. Tyler knew what he was now. How the curse was triggered. Everything in that department. I hadn't held back with other supernaturals either. He was very much aware of the existence of Vampires and witches.

"Why?" Lockwood muttered tiredly. Seeing my look he elaborated, "Why tell me all this? From what i've heard you coulda kept this to yourself, no harm no foul. What do you want?" He explained. It was clear Tyler wasn't angry, just tired.

With a long sigh my head leaned back, and my body slumped slightly, "That's simple Ty. I want your hel..- no. I need your help Ty." My voice had become soft, almost a whisper, "There are more vampires running around Mystic falls than there have been in centuries. The witches are useless. The humans don't discriminate and will come for us the moment they know we exist.

"I have a plan. A plan that'll make it so I never have to go through the pain of turning ever again, and you could be apart of that Ty. What I need is someone I can trust. Someone who can actually benefit from aiding me. Who better than you? Someone who will most certainly experience the same pain one day?"

Tyler hadn't given anything away during my little 'let's work together' speech.

We sat in mute for a good five minutes. "How are you so certain my curse will be triggered? Do you want me to trigger it?" Breaking the silence, he asked the questions at the forefront of his mind.

Deciding to be as honest as possible I told him some of the truth. That vampires out there and possibly in town knew what he was. Having a newbie werewolf with no guidance was most definitely to their advantage. The ones that didn't want him to trigger his curse would still kill him out of fear of a wolf bite, and right now Tyler Lockwood was a sitting duck with no defences.

"If you don't want to die Ty you need to trigger your curse. Times of war are coming and there's no avoiding it with our heritage. You've seen the 'animal attacks. Besides, the full moon won't be a problem forever."

Tyler's eyes narrowed at the last part, "You keep saying that. That you'll fix the curse. How?"

"By becoming half vampire" I answered bluntly.

His jaw lowered as the 17 year old looked even more confused. "That's possible?"

Seeing his face a chuckle escaped my lips, "It will be Tyler. Very soon. Until then not just me, but this town could do with werewolf Tyler"

....

Lockwood had initially refused my proposition, not wanting to have blood on his hands, however after promising the human would be someone who would find death to be a blessing he agreed.

He also insisted I elaborate on the hybrid plan. With a quick lecture I told him it was possible and explained the benefits and downsides of being a Hybrid. After hearing me out, the idea of becoming one of the very few badass half vampire half werewolf hybrids didn't seem so bad. It was better than him saying no, accidentally triggering his curse later and staying a werewolf.

The sun had just set. Standing naked in the woods I picked up the water bottle on the ground and drank as much as my body could handle. It felt like all my stamina had been leached into a black hole.

Wolfsbane. You hate to see it. I'd started growing my own batch at home two months ago with my grandmas help. It was around then two more campers had accidentally been killed by me on a full moon. So I needed this as a precaution.

Cough after cough I struggled to stand, soon collapsing to the ground. The transformation had begun.

....

It was the morning after and I'd just gotten in bed. The full moon went without a hitch. My clothes were stashed just where I left them, and no dead bodies.

Thinking back to yesterday I couldn't help but smile and inwardly celebrate. My plan actually worked. It was expected, but shit could have gone so wrong. Now that step 1 was completed, it was time for step 2.

Triggering Tyler's curse. My plan was simple, yet complicated at the same time. He wouldn't just kill anyone. Choosing who to kill was the easy part. The hard part was actually killing them. For this step a vampire was essential, and couldn't be just anyone.

Stefan didn't know about werewolves and something tells me he wouldn't help kill someone just to trigger Tyler's curse. Next was Damon. Yeah, no. Other than that there were only two more that came to mind. One of them would be in town today, another had already arrived long ago.

These two being Lexi and Anna. The latter was the only one who had a reason to help, whilst the former was a friend of Stefan. The Stefan who would die to protect Elena. The Elena that needed to die to complete Klaus's ritual and break his curse, which would then help me become a Hybrid.

Not giving the Salavatores any reason to assume I would side with them against Klaus, my soon to be 'saviour', was for the best.

Anna it is.

Checking the news it seemed Vicki Donovan 'ran away' after last nights Halloween party. "Really. Ran away?" I laughed. They really didn't want people to know she was dead just yet.

My chill time is interrupted by a phone call from Tyler. Picking up I wait for him to talk, "Hey Kira, I think I found what you're looking for." He said eagerly over the phone.

My eyes widened. I didn't expect him to already be looking, let alone have found it, "Already?" I smiled.

"Who knows. Maybe this isn't it, but I'm pretty sure it is. Matches the description and everything."

Looks like step 3 is complete a little early. Before step 2 even. "Don't worry I trust you, if you say you found it, I believe you. Come meet me at the Grill in twenty minutes with the stone"

Tyler was agreed to be there before asking one last thing, "So when are you gonna tell me who the vampires in town are? Do we really have to wait until my curse is triggered." He was clearly annoyed that I was keeping things from him.

Tyler was already very accommodating, not asking too many questions about how the curse would be broken. He even got the moonstone. It was only fair he knew this much.

Closing my eyes I silently prayed he wouldn't do anything stupid, "I'll tell you, but you have to promise you won't confront them. I'm serious Ty. They don't about werewolves and that's our advantage. Can I trust you?"

"Yes" he claimed without hesitation, "We're a team Kira. A pack. You and I. You can trust me"The determination in his voice was clear.

His own charisma had erased any lingering doubts I had, "Okay then. You're right, we are a pack now. As for the vampires..."

By the end of our session Tyler had been inform on the Salvatores, Bennett's and Anna. The last one was for future purposes since she'd be helping him trigger his curse.
