2 Is He Nuts?

"Tell me why you summoned me here. You know I am expensive and never like to be disturbed for nothing."

Shen Qi complained whilst supporting himself on one of the pillars in the Yama Hall. His right leg was crossed on top of the other one. Both of his hands and his lower back rested inbetween the same pillar he was leaning on. The upper part of his back was now rid of the two wings that had sprouted out from his twin blades. And ended up getting him to this place to meet with this old geezer.

Jin Li suppressed an urge to cough up blood as he secretly took a deep breath unless he snapped and turned the other into ashes. He rested his arms on his throne's armrest his phoenix eyes staring deep into Shen Qi's soul.

As if what he had said wasn't enough, Shen Qi added, "My time is gold you know."

No longer listening to this little cub's crap, the Yama King reached inside his sleeves and fumbled inside for a few seconds before he took out a shimmering crystal. It was violet and glassy making the whole thing sparkle with more glee, enveloping the hall with purple light.

The Yama King caressed the crystal with care. His eyes glowing with a red glint and his mouth raised in an unsightly grin.

Upon seeing him like that, Shen Qi knew what was coming.

Jin Li raised the crystal with the tip of his finger until it was left suspended in the air as it circled at a fixed position.

"You see this treasure. I had eight of these crystals in my collection. Now I am left with one. I don't know who had the guts to steal from this King but what I know is they are going to pay."

He did not notice the multiple black veins that popped up on both of his arms and hands. The veins seemed strained as if they were about to burst. And also his face was arranged in an ugly expression as he dripped with killing intent.

"Hmmm. If you think I am going to look for those useless stones then you are mistaken." Shen Qi could not help but speak his mind. He had wasted so much of his resting time coming here to meet with him and now he wants him to look for his puzzle pieces. What an absurd joke.

"Useless? No. No. You don't realize what these can do. If they fall into the wrong hands then nothing will be left. Be it the humans you hate so much or us. No one will survive. Once all the pieces are gathered, destruction will fall upon the universe, destroying even those that are at the highest level. If not for my carelessness I would still have kept them safe. You need to find these pieces and bring them back." Jin Li explained.

"First of all, there is no us. Secondly, there is no way I am going out of my way to look for those puzzle pieces. Get that in your head old man."

Upon hearing the last part of that insult, the Yama King was enraged. He couldn't understand which part of him was old. He had smooth skin and everything. No wrinkles could be spotted on him. Even though he had lived many years compared to the young demon lord that was standing in front of him, he still felt that he was still young.

Anyway, he acted like an adult and let it go.

"You haven't understood anything I have been saying, do you? Let me explain in much simpler words. My Infinite Ice Doomslay Blade, my millennium Horthon goblet and those eight crystals have gone missing you hear. Missing. Just the thought of it makes me feel on the edge. And the scary part is that I can no longer pet them before sleep."

'Is he nuts?' Shen Qi thought still listening to the other person talk.

"Although these treasures can cause the Ultimate Destruction and awaken Moyu from his deep sleep, not that I care, it's still crucial to avoid that. So to stop the end, I am assigning you with this quest and hope that you find all the pieces in time. It's a pity I can't search for the thief myself but I will do a little investigation here in the meantime. Someone we know was helping them get to my treasure. Also on your quest I hope you kill as little as you can. I don't want to be in cahoots with those cultivators."

"I still don't get how I got involved in this. All these are your treasures and your own matter to handle so why get me into it." Shen Qi put through his disagreement, also moving away from the pillar so that he was clearly facing Jin Li.

"Xiao Qi, I am not asking you to go through with this, instead I am telling you to do it without fail. I will give you three days to prepare for your departure. I have a clue as to where all the crystals are located." Jin Li spoke in more of a business tone. He took out an orb that was on a pile on a table and threw it to Shen Qi who caught the little thing with ease.

"I will do this your way. For this one time only. However, stop sending your underlings to my place. You don't seem to want anyone to remain by your side."

Shen Qi warned as he made his way out.

When he was outside the hall, he looked back and cursed, "He is just unlikeable."

After a moment of looking at those closed thick mahogany doors, he turned away and opened a portal making his way to his quarters to sleep some more.

He stepped into the opened hollow circle that had black and red tints and a vivid perspective that seemed to lead into oblivion. His mood had been ruined by that old crook and he wanted nothing but to take a nap and put his brain to rest.
