But to answer that question, they aren't the answers cause that's boring! As a degenerate who's done nothing but read isekai, I've come to understand a few things and one thing I genuinely hate is when the author expects you to just magically know how the power system works!

In this world, there are a few different types of magic!

First off, there's the magic most people know of that uses natural energies that surround you known as essence!

Essence floats about in the air like pollen and clumps around all things living! If you could see it it would probably look like small bubbles that cloud around people, animals and loosely around things like plants and feathers!

Most if not all living creatures are able to use Essence to their advantage of course, but it can be exhausting and is mentally taxing as you have to imagine the essence moving and changing into an element!

Right! Well just keep in mind that essence has its limits! I won't be explaining them for now however because of plot and stuff sadly but.

Each PERSON has basically a glass of pure energy that they can use to create magic! Even if you're in a void of nothingness you would still be able to cast fireballs even without essence!

The downside? There are more limits!

When a beast, beast-kin, animal or monster reaches a certain level in intelligence, strength, purity or whatever it may be, they become able to manifest a beast quirk!

There are different grades to these quirks, just as there are grades to everything, but those don't really matter right now!

As magic has a thousand ways to be used, beast quirks have a few ways to be used a thousand ways!

A beast quirk can have many different shapes, flavors and can even be a chunk of wood that a gorilla carries around! You name it!

How do they work? No clue! Author-nim said it was for 'plot' again so we might find out later!

What I do know however, is that using the quirk has a cost!

The cost will be whatever the beast decides is worthy of being the currency!

It could be actual money, it could be muscle or fat mass! Or... hunger

[That just sounds like a waste though, why would she choose hunger when she has so many options? Wouldn't the results be the same no matter what she chose as the 'currency'?]

Yup! She chose it because she's stupid and didn't know! though the currency matters very much! The more important it is to the person the more power it'll hold!

And that's why the fuel source she chose was quite good!

Throwing her hands back as she yelled, some sand seemed to follow her motions, kicking up in the direction she sent her emotions.

"If you wanted to use me you should have at least said so! You promised me an isekai only to send me to this hell and torture me!"

Shooting up from the ground behind her, once again the worm stood tall blocking out the sun as it stared down on the prey that burnt its beautiful beak and hurt its pride!

*SQUAAAAA!!!*

Letting out a loud screech it wanted to announce itself to the small ant sized prey! Showing itself as the stronger being! As the one who would kill her in one shot-

"SHUT THE FUCK UP YOU CATAPILLAR!"

As she screamed in anger with a few tears in her eyes, she slashed her hand behind her, sending a large blade of sharp sand in the worms direction, leaving a large gash across its stomach spewing blood as it wailed in pain only to fall on its side.
