14 Fur Robe

"Old Yu…"

"Watson told me about it. Did you feel anything when the mark moved? Is it possible… you got a new vision about Renésmee or maybe something else?"

This should be a good chance for Vincent to get an explanation. Judas had lived long in this world; perhaps he had a reasonable explanation for the emptiness Vincent felt.

"Nope, nothing. I just feel my head hurts and my heart hurts so bad." With just a short contemplation Vincent chose to bury it himself. He didn't want to admit that he couldn't feel Nessy anymore. He was probably a little tired and hadn't fully recovered from Jacob's attack.

Yeah, he just needs to rest, right ?

Old Yu said to Vincent, "son, regarding your headache and pain… I know, I shouldn't be speaking like this but you must be prepared if the worst happens to Renésmee."

[ What's the worst? Nessy must be fine. She is not a weak woman. ]

She had Vampire blood running through his body. Vincent has also taught Nessy how to use her inner strength and how to fight.

[ She is my mate, my woman. ]

[ She is the greatest woman in this world. ]

"Vince… Vincent," Old Yu had finished calling him a few times but Vincent was out of his mind. He had only just returned to his body when Old Yu squeezed his shoulders.

"Son, get yourself together. Remember this pack depends on you. The news of Renésmee's disappearance will soon spread and the negligents will have their eyes set on you. I hope we can find Renésmee as soon as possible, before winter or… this late fall time will be very hard for you—for all of us in the pack."

"Sorry, I understand uncle."

Vincent is the alpha, he still has to protect the pack.

By dinner, Vincent returned to Renésmee's room. Perhaps it should now be called Alice's room.

Upon entering, Vincent finds the room empty. The large bed in the center of the room was immaculately untouched and the windows wide open. The size of the window is quite large like a door, the frame is thick which allows you to sit or stand there.

Renesmee had sat at the window, only once. Because Vincent who saw it immediately forbade Renesmee to sit at the window. He was worried that Nessy would lose her balance and fall.

Even though the woman was trained, her jumps were only comparable to that of a teen-werewolf. A lot of bad things can happen suddenly, who knows? Preventing bad things from happening to Renesmee is better than dealing with them after they happen.

Alice is a petite woman just like Renesmee. She was more than fit to get out through the big window. Vincent suddenly felt uneasy. Could it be that Alice had indeed escaped from this room? Or someone could just come in here and kidnap her?

The bad thoughts made Vincent's feet rush to the window. Only this time he could still find traces of Alice. His emotional steps came to a halt as Alice's head suddenly popped out from the side of the bed.

[ Was she hiding under the bed? ]

"What are you doing!" Vincent became angry when he saw Alice who was sitting on the floor.

Alice had ransacked the room, yeah, even if only half of it. Several parchments were scattered on the floor. In her hand was Renesmee's paintbrush, it looked like she was using it to write something on parchment.

The writings seemed strange to Vincent, the characters were different from those used by werewolves or maybe people from the Land of Eden.

Whatever that is! What is Alice actually doing here? Vincent even thought that Alice was kidnapped from this room. He had just lost Renesmee, if another woman were to be lost in this castle then people would really question his power.

"Uh, I just wrote a few things before I forgot them."

Alice plans to keep a journal for herself. The memory fragments she had kept fading with time. Alice is afraid that when they find Renésmee, she will forget where she came from.

"Why don't you do it on the table?" Vincent pointed to the table in the corner of the room with his chin.

Alice thought Vincent would be angry because she used Renesmee's parchment, ink and paintbrush without permission. Apparently he was just being scolded for making the room look messy with parchments scattered on the floor. "Actually, I also want to do it on the table. It's just… you see, there aren't any seats here."

[ Eh? That is true. ]

Alice threw the dresser chair at him the time he tried to attack Noah yesterday. Another chair in this room was also destroyed by his blind attack.

"Tch, idiot! You can call someone or bring a chair from outside." Vincent suddenly felt a pain in his back.

Don't know how long Alice had been sitting on the floor, hunched over to write. She had already finished one long sheet of parchment and had finished another half.

"Weren't you the one who told me not to wander outside?" Alice defended herself.

[ Darn it! Why haven't they replaced it with a new one? ]

Vincent had ordered the teen-wolf to change the bed. They should have used a bit of their mind when they saw that there were no chairs at the dressing table or chairs for study tables in this room.

[ How do they think they can join the pack with their empty heads? ]

"I'll order the boys to bring the chairs for you."

"Is it already okay for them to see me?" Alice remembered Vincent said he would talk to his pack so they wouldn't attack Alice who was previously labeled an intruder.

"They are different. They were just teen-wolf, a bunch of young wolves that weren't part of the pack. They are here voluntarily, showing their dedication and muscle while hoping they can join our pack. They forget that they also have to use their brains."

Teen-wolf? Sounds like a servant or slave to Alice.

Of course, for a castle of this size, it would be impossible if Vincent didn't hire someone to take care of it. Amazingly they even work voluntarily.

"Go out to dinner at dusk and put on this robe," Vincent said, pointing to the pile of fur robes on the bed.

[ When did he carry these robes? ]

"Should I wear it? Is this a fellowship robe?"

"Use it if you want to get out of this room," Vincent warned Alice or more like he was threatening her. "I'll know right away if you walk out of this chamber door without wearing one of those robes. Someone might attack you or if that doesn't happen then I will pounce myself on you as soon as we meet."

Alice opened her mouth, wanting to protest and file a complaint. But she closed her mouth again without saying anything.

However clever Alice was, she failed to understand Vincent's orders. Why was Vincent talking to his members if they weren't listening to him and were still planning to attack Alice?

[ Was this fur robe a form of their consensus? ]

[ This group of strange creatures! ]

"Alright," it was just a fur robe and the price was Alice's life.

It's not a difficult request. Alice should be able to adjust and obediently wear a fur robe if she wanted to get out of her room.

It was only after Alice promised to wear the robes that Vincent left. Before long a young man knocked on the door and brought Alice a chair for her. It must be an order from Vincent.

The boy didn't even dare to look at Alice or say anything to her and left immediately after Alice thanked him.

She was working on her second parchment and when she looked out the window it was already dark. It's time for dinner. Alice took one of the fur robes and put it on before opening the door. Then she went into the dining room.

From afar Alice could feel the atmosphere of life from the dining room. She wondered how many people were in the dining room now? Is the table full? Where should she sit?
