3 Chapter 3 - Hell Freia

The whole world stopped the moment a large dragon appeared on the sky. It's not because they were not aware that dragons exist but because of the fact that there should be no more dragons alive in the world. The human army had defeated the dragonians since a hundred years ago.

That's why what remains in the heads of almost all inhabitants of the land was: Will the war between human and monsters erupt again?

Presently, the remaining monsters and humans are coexisting peacefully. The intelligent monsters were hired as slaves while those monsters that only knows how to destroy was imprisoned and is currently on death rows. This is what coexistence is for human beings.

The different heads of every metropolitan cities constructed on land gathered for a hellish meeting and debate regarding the most hazardous news the world could ever situate. The appearance of a dragon.

In a small room at the top of the tallest sky scraper in the City of Carnage, 5 gentlemen and 1 girl gathered. They represented the five major metropolis' in the map.

Earlman Fidor represented the Metro City of Serenity. (Food Industry)

Brado Desmund represented the Western Trade City. (Mechanics)

Hiro Oda represented the Metropolis of Façade. (Experiments/Science – robotics)

Felisna Veda represented the Oak City of Sanctuary. (Mining)

Tuko Walding represented the School of Magics (Academy) and the City of Carnage. (Magic)

The people around the world are waiting for whatever the five decided. They are the pillars of peace in the present society of humans. Most of them were direct descendants of those human heroes and generals that once fought the dragon kind and defeated Catastropheia.

"Hey, what's that lowly girl doing here. Aren't we deciding the fate of the world?" Hiro Oda, a human who exudes an aura of deception, was the first one to talk in the tension filled room. He's one of those guys that works underground and do the dirties work among the five pillars who gathered. And the first thing he noticed was the girl with long curly hair and green eyes that was joining the meeting of the five pillars.

"I have to agree. This is an important matter. No outsider should be allowed to join. Even I had to stop my attendants to join me in this cramped room." Felisna, a voluptuous woman with a face a man could die for, butted.

"Oh those attendants of yours that worships the ground you walk? What a bunch of idiots." Brado interrupted. He was a muscle man. Judging on his appearance, he's most likely the one who uses his muscles than his brain to solve any problem.

"Leave her be. She's my successor, and as such, she's allowed to listen to everything this meeting will decide." The man with a very long beard, who can be called a great sage, spoke. Indeed he was the master of the girl standing in the back. Her face was void of emotions.

"Good day. My name is Zenith Synclaire. I'll be in your care." The girl bowed with respect, still void of emotion. However, no one spoke. Not because they did not care at all, but because they actually care. Her surname made this silence happen.

"Oy, old man. What is a Synclaire doing here?" Earlman reacted.

"If I remember, the hero who defeated Catastropheia… his surname was Synclaire, right?" Brado asked for somebody to confirm and the one who confirmed it was none other than the girl herself.

"Confirmation. Crimson Synclaire is my descendant." Again, void of any emotions, she spoke.

"Tsk. So this is how you play, Tuko Walding?" Hiro Oda glared.

"Excuse me, ojou-chan. Do you know what happened to your descendant?" Felisna rebutted.

"Confirmation. Crimson Synclaire defeated Dragon Lord Catastropheia then disappeared. However, before he defeated Dragon Lord Catastopheia, he committed a magic taboo which was found out later after defeating the monsters. Thus, he is now treated as a world criminal. End of explanation."

The four was rather impressed not only in Zenith's tone and way of speaking but also because of the vast knowledge she has. No normal human being knew about the truth behind the hero Crimson Synclaire. To even know the reason why he became a criminal was a state class information.

"Are you done interrogating her? Shall we begin the discussion?" Tuko interjected, and thus Zenith was allowed to join, and they began the discussion about the appearance of a dragon in the skies.

Zenith intently listened to everything each of the pillars has to say. To begin with, she never thought that the other four had deep knowledge and insights on warfare and history. Especially Brado Desmund whom she thought was only a muscle brain but is actually a guy full of insights.

The discussion ended after 6 hours of straight debate and concluded on the most immediate action they have to take.

First off, they have to form a human army capable of not just protecting the citizens but also able to defeat another army of dragonians and monsters.

In order to do this, the City of Carnage, the Magic Capital of the world will be opened. The Academy will now be opened to train every human being ages 14 years old to 19 years old of magic, sorcery, and combat skills. Why 14 – 19 years old? Magic seems to accumulate the highest in these years for a human being, thus raising the human beings war potential.

Second, the monsters that are currently in the cities who were taken as slaves. The fact that the dragon appeared means that the fire inside them had started to burn again. No matter how small that fire is, a monster is a monster. They are capable of overwhelming a human if they properly use their brains, and if they have high morale. That's why to prevent these monsters from taking the sides of the dragonians again, they have to exterminate them.

And lastly, the education of the common folks in each cities and small towns. The fact that the Great War occurred a hundred years ago may affect the knowledge the citizens hold for a monster. They should be refreshed about it and be able to understand that monsters are still monsters. Re-educate them if possible.

Those were the three priorities the meeting of the pillars produced in 6 hours. They immediately disseminated it to the people. And thus begin the humans' first preparation for war.

Storm Demise Catastropehia looked at her only daughter, Hell Hazard Catastropheia, who was practicing sword skills on their courtyard. Her eyes, which were naturally beautiful, now seemed to be clouded with worry.

"Don't worry about her, Storm. She'll be fine." Siramines Ruin Catastropheia, her husband, tried to comfort her. But it was to no avail. The humans are starting to move again against an attack from the dragonian race. It is now very dangerous for them to make contact to any human.

However, because of a stupid promise she made, she doesn't have a choice but to let her only daughter go.

A promise made 12 years ago, when Hell was still 4 years old. That was the start of everything that's happening right now. If only she educated Hell of the outside world, if only she could turn back time, she'd definitely won't take her eyes off of her little girl even for one second.

The accident 12 years ago revealed that the dragonian race was still alive. It was written in human records that the race died. A deception. A fake information was written there in order for them to survive. They're not even planning to plunge the world into war again. But the humans started moving on their own, making any move they make, dangerous.

And now she's sending Hell to the human world.

"Ruin, can we not forfeit the deal with Hell? She was still 4 years old back then. Maybe we can change her mind?" She tried talking to her husband again, but Ruin shook his head.

"Hell is a smart child, Storm. A smart, strong, and unyielding child. She thinks like an adult. She'll be alright. Even if we found a hole on the deal we made 12 years ago, she'll just find a way to flip it over. She's that smart. I even wondered where she had taken it from." Ruin laughed while saying those things. However, contrary to his laugh, his eyes were full of worry as well.

--

I swung my sword as hard as I can, thrusting it forward with full strength and stopping it at full strength as well. I've been practicing my sword skills for 7 years now, and I could say that I mastered everything about it.

My sword practice should have been done an hour ago but my whole being is full of excitement at the moment. So in order to relieve that excitement, the sword is necessary.

What was my excitement all about?

Well, fufu, I'm now going to the human world!

Yes, you read it right! I can now explore the human world as I want to. To ride cars and airplanes, and many other technological advancements that I, admittingly, missed form my old world. For all I know, there must be anime and manga out there! And internet! There should be social media sites!

Years of studying, I found out that this is not my previous Earth, and the metropolis below Dragonia was not Japan but a city called the City of Carnage.

12 years ago, I accidentally slipped and fell from Dragonia. As I was still 4 years old back then, my wings haven't sprouted yet so I can't fly. Then, I thought I was going to die until a large dragon saved me. And guess who's that large dragon?!

It's Felix!

Yes, because of me he was able to fully transform into a dragon. But since his awakening is very untimely, after he was able to deliver me safely in the palace, he rampaged causing an uproar in Dragonia. To stop him, other dragonians battled him for two days. Only Dad was able to stop him, and when he did, Dad brought him to a room inside the mansion. They stayed there for five days. And when they got back, Felix was… not Felix anymore.

He became taller than me in five days. He has always been taller than me since he's three years older but our heights did not differ much back then, but when he returned, he was way… way… taller than me. His gaze was serious, his figure was calm but dangerous. For the first time, I admitted that his aura scared the heck of me.

Back then, I cried, you know. I don't really understand myself, but I kept missing the old Felix, I cried for seven days straight. It was probably because he was my first friend, but they changed him so drastically, my young, poor self wasn't able to accept the change immediately.

Because of my seven-day tantrum, my parents promised that they'd do anything I want. Thus, awakening my hidden dark self…

I made them promised that when I turned sixteen, they'd let me venture the human world.

I didn't know about the rules of promises back then, but a light enveloped the whole mansion when I proposed the thing I wanted, then a bracelet was tied onto my left wrist.

It's the first time I knew of the dragonian rule of promise – that when two or three dragonian makes a promise with each other, a bracelet which holds massive power will appear and attached itself into the persons involve. They will only disappear if the promise was fulfilled.

And because I didn't say any time limit during the proposing of promise, I will be able to venture the human world as long as I want to. But if I stepped onto the Dragonian domain again, the promise will be fulfilled.

Easy. So I just need to stay away from the Dragonian land to keep venturing!

Yahoo!

And today is the promised day.

"Fel." I called Felix who appeared immediately.

As I thought, I really couldn't tell his presence. What incredible ninja skill he has!

"You called, hime." He's not adding -sama when he addresses me too. Ugh, I really miss the old Felix. The Felix that I get to bully.

"Get ready. It's almost time." I said.

"As you wish." Then, he disappeared. On my venturing the human world, it was mutually decided that I'd bring Felix along. He wanted to come along. I wanted him to come along. So that's it.

And regarding my 42 year old self… he's actually vanishing. No, should I say my old self is merging with my present self at the moment? I mean, I don't really have any problem with wearing pretty dresses right now.

It's what I expected. Back then, I thought why was my mentality won't affect my feelings? The answer was simple, my mentality would merge in appropriate times. For example, back when I was still 4 years old, my ego was still of that Hellium Dexter. However, as time passed by, my mentality as a girl matured. This would result to conflicting mentalities, and so, to stabilize this, the two mentalities should merge in understanding.

Simply, I should just really accept that I'm a girl now.

Even if my memories are intact, my displeasure towards my appearance gradually vanished.

An hour has passed and now I, along with Felix, a few maids, and my own parents stood in the front yard. Everyone is now ready for sending me off to the human world.

My mother was hesitant at first, but a promise is a promise.

She sighed and opened a magic scroll.

"For you to be able to do what you want in the human world, you must first become a human." My mother frowned. Sending me off was probably hard.I mean, I'm their only daughter, and my brother was also out there, somewhere. Ha-ha. Actually, I really don't know where he is. The only thing I know is that I have a big brother.

"Hell Hazard Catastropheia." She strengthened her resolve, "you are thee and thee are you. To become or not to become, the choice is yours."

A magic circle lit up the ground where I was standing. It shone bright blue. Mom looked at me on cue. This time, I was the one who strengthened my resolve.

"I want to be human."

The scroll started burning in flames when I voiced my intentions, at the same time, my horns vanished and I could feel my energy being sucked away from me. And then, I felt normal. As if nothing happened. I looked at my mother who was smiling bitterly.

"You shall now be known as Hell Freia, the Princess of Grucia. Venture the world as you please, but please never forget who you truly are Hell. You are our daughter, the Princess of Dragonia, the one the shall rule the living monsters in the future."

I cared less of her speech. What ruler of monsters? I'm going to be a hero down there, you know. I mentally snickered. To meet the hero; to meet that girl; and now, since I became a human, to become a hero.

And thus I replied,

"Yes!"
