14 13. The Two-Headed Kaiju VS Berserker Mode

The next day we unpacked and finished organizing all of our stuff within a few hours, and then left together for a tour planned by Seraph.

She had all the places we needed to visit, relax in and eat at, jotted down in a book. By the time night came and we arrived home there were still many places on her list we hadn't had the time to visit.

We did drop by the restaurant Seraph's mom, Eleece, worked at though. After Seraph introduced herself, her mother asked another chef to take over for her and both spent hours talking to each other in a small room meant for the restaurant staff to relax in.

I was invited in too after they spent quite some alone time together. The terms "boyfriend" or "girlfriend" didn't exist in this world, so I was simply introduced as the man she loved and lived together with.

And hence, why my current dilemma. Before we left, Eleece said that one of these days she would take a day off and come over to our place to discuss things.

This felt a lot like a test to see if I was right for her daughter. She didn't yet know what specie I was, and she definitely wouldn't believe I was human. The humans here didn't mutate. Nor had we told her about our profession yet.

"So, have you thought of what to tell her?" Seraph stood leaning against one of the alley walls as I used the demonic mouths on my palms to suck the blood from the neck of a large yellow goblin.

"Do demons exist in this world?" I turned to her just as a screen on the goblin's info and stats popped up.

"Well, yeah. Although we say that the Baldur continent is under the authority of the Seiger royal family, there's still the ruins to the north which are largely uninhabited. All that's known is that a demonic tribe lives there, nothing known of what they look like though."

"Has no king ever ordered an exploration of the place?" I said as I cleaned my daggers and sheathed them back.

"They have, from what I've read. But no one ever returned sane from there, so nothing would be uncovered. One Prince lost his life there and since then no other exploration parties were formed to be sent there."

"Perhaps I could just say half demon then? And make up a story of how a demon from there fell in love with a human from an exploration party?"

"None have returned sane. That won't work. Instead," she pulled out the scroll detailing our next mission, "you're better off claiming to be the descendant of a reclusive underwater Sentry. After all, the Sentry of the Dragonborn does give birth to them through its excretion, so why not a Sentry that gave birth to you?"

"So what does that make me, a Half Sentry?"

A Half Kaiju.

The word immediately popped into my mind.

Our next mission was taking care of another Berserk Sentry.

Apparently the capital city had plenty of Sentries living in it. It was the job of the nobles to take care of them, so that when a foreign kingdom attacked, the Sentries would repay the favour by aiding in protecting the kingdom.

By the time we arrived at the noble's castle, a few mages and warriors also hired from their respective guilds for the same mission, lay dead at the giant's feet. The only thing keeping it from leaving the mansion was an artifact around one of its necks that froze it's movements whenever it tried to take a step out of the mansion.

The price though was that it kept wrecking the mansion instead.

The giant was a humongous lion with two heads, with its faces and claws armored, two huge canines sticking out of both the mouths, and the right head possessed a mane while the left didn't.

'A lion and a lionness in one then,' I thought.

Just as I tried to sneak in closer unnoticed, while Seraph tried to distract it, it growled. And giant bolts of lightning fell from the sky.

I rolled away just as one hit where I was standing a moment ago, leaving a scorched pit in the ground. I held both of my hands in front of me just as I got on my feet.

Hundreds of tiny tornadoes formed infront of my, compacting into a smaller and smaller size, until they were the size of bullets.

"Go!"

They launched and hit the beast on its chest, even managing to penetrate through some of its flesh and bone.

This spell was my own creation. Wind Bullets. Made after being inspired from how the Wind Arrows and Tornado Fists spells worked.

The Sentry roared in pain. Without missing a beat, Seraph shot a volley of fire arrows into the holes my bullets made. It was a deadly combination causing it to flail around and sent sparks of lightning shooting from its body, electrocuting everything in its vicinity.

This was the time to test it out.

"System, Berserker Mode."

My skin turned a dull brown, my eyes turned completely black and the stubs on my head grew into full fledged horns. The scales then enveloped the entirety of my limbs, back and neck. The demonic mouths on my palms remained the same though.

"Now this is demonic!" I laughed facing the sky, "Yeah, let's do this little cat!"

And I leapt into the air, and just as I was right in front of its face my fist struck it down hard.

The beast's face moved away to the side with the force of the blow and it almost stumbled.

And just as I was falling back on the ground, I opened my right palm. The demonic mouth widened and a giant translucent mouth appeared in the sky and bit into the neck of the lionness.

The Sentry shrieked and lightning bolts fell unabated from the sky. But this was fun. This was thrilling.

"Say, little kitty, wanna be my pet? This Taeyang will treat you well!" saying so I opened my left palm, pointed it at the giant and another giant translucent mouth appeared in the sky. The mouth opened and it licked the beast.

With each lick, the beast shrieked in pain. Each lick sent waves of pain straight to its soul.

"Now this is fun!"

And those were the last words I remember saying before I fell unconscious.
