Fighting the Hydra

"T-Takeru-san." Hajime shuddered as he shrunk away from the hydra slowly.

Takeru turned around and looked at him.

"Yes?"

Hajime gulped as he hid behind Takeru in fear.

"Can you defeat that?"

"Yeah. I can without even looking." Takeru nodded.

"Thank god. That monster is scary." Hajime heaved a sigh of relief.

"Is it? Here." Takeru opened a gap in the void and took out two items: a gourd and a ring. He tossed them to Hajime who caught it clumsily.

"What's this?" Hajime asked as he examined the items closely, curious.

"The ring is actually a portable shield able to block any physical and magical attack and reflect them. It's called Yata no Kagami." Takerupointed at the ring.

"Amazing!" Hajime exclaimed.

"The other one is actually a sword. Totsuka no Tsurugi, a liquid that turns into a solid blade able to seal anything it pierces. It won't work on me, I tried." Takeru pointed at the gourd.

"This is the one from Naruto, right? But, how can you not be affected by it. Shouldn't everything it peirced be sealed forever?" Hajime asked.

"What Naruto? Also, it actually sealed me but I just escaped." Takeru secretly put barriers around the hydra and kep it in place.

"Will this seal me?" Takeru muttered as he played with the Totsuka Blade.

He tried to stab himself but the blade returned into liquid and went back to the gourd. He tried again, but this time, he used 1% of his whole mana reserves. The blade grew sharper and red fire burned fiercely on the blade.

He stabbed himself but it only pierced 1cm into his skin. Still, it worked. He got transported into a world of black where everywhere he looked, it was a moving kaleidoscope with red and black color.

He stayed for a while and made a gap in space and entered the gap. He reappeared in his previous locations, completely unharmed.

"It worked~" Takeru put the gourd in his dimensional pocket.

"...so that's what happened." Takeru concluded.

"Wow! So you are able to escape there? There's a legend saying that no one can escape the seal of the Totsuka Blade." Hajime was amazed.

"Un...amazing." Yue also nodded.

"How about the Yata Mirror?" Hajime asked.

"That? Oh, I accidentally broke the shield when I flicked it. Good thing the shield can regenerate." Takeru said.

Hajime and Yue's admiration grew. They may only met him not long ago but his show of prowess made them admire him. Takeru is also looking for otherworld friends so there's absolutely nothing wrong.

"But, why are you giving this to me?" Hajime asked.

"Use it." Takeru answered casually.

"Eh!?" Hajime was shocked.

He composed himself quickly and asked again.

"Why?"

"They can't help me in any way. Giving it to Yue will definitely boost her fighting prowess a lot but she's a magic-based fighter. You're weak and that will be a problem. I'll give it to you for now so you can atleast have any means to defend yourself." Takeru answered.

"I'll be gone sometimes so you need sonething to defend yourself. Although I can use a spatial gate to go to your position, it will be a pain in the ass. Also, grow a backbone." He continued.

Hajime nodded as he found his words true. He don't want to always depend on someone just to fight. He want to be independent.

"Wait, you have the ability to create a gate connecting places, right?" Hajime asked.

"Yup! Why?" Takeru made little mice made of blue fire and have them annoy the hydra.

"Won't that mean you're able to made a gate back to my original world?" Hajime asked, now with stars in his eyes.

"Well, I still can't go to different worlds." Takeru lied.

'Where's the fun in that? You have to be stronger.' He thought.

"Is that so..." Hajime sulked.

"Enough of that. Go fight that eight-headed serpent." Takeru pushed Hajime towards the annoyed hydra.

"W-wait!" Hajime shouted, but Takeru have already removed the barrier around the hydra, making it able to move once again.

"Fight~ Hajime~ Fight~" Takeru cheered.

"Kill it." Yue said.

GWAAAAAAAAAAH!

The hydra roared as it stmped towards Hajime. He frantically looked everywhere in panic, looking for any ways to kill the hydra.

"Put mana into the ring and gourd!" Takeru yelled.

Hajime nodded at did what he was told. The blade appeared on the mouth of the gourd and a red circle transparent shield appeared on the place where the ring is worn, in this case, in his left hand.

'I can do this.' Hajime thought as he rushed towards the hydra.

He quickly reached the hydra and he slashed the Totsuka blade towards one of the heads.

SHING!

The head was severed and got absorbed into the gourd. Hajime raised his shiled as a flurry of elemental attacks assaulted him.

The attack got reflected by the shield, making the hydra step back.

Hajime, seeing this opportunity dashed towards the hydra and cut another head.

"Go~ Hajime~ Go~" Takeru cheered as he manipulated fire to form the word 'Hajime' in the air.

Hajime got overconfident, resulting the hydra to slam it's huge body towards him. Though it did not hit him, the shockwave sent him into the wall, coughing a mouthful of saliva.

"Ooooh~ That probably hurts." Takeru commented on the side.

Hajime stood up with difficulty and remembered his family, his friends and Kaori. He had flashbacks which were ignored due to someone's laziness and got a power-up.

Hajime's muscles in his body contracted as he dashed towards the hydra in speed faster than before. He arrived in front of the hydra and jumped.

"He got a power-up. Nice~" Takeru commented.

Hajime reached 3 meyers into the air and slashed with Totsuka Blade downward with incredible strength.

The slash caused the hydra to lose 4 of its head, only leaving one. Hajime's eyes glowed blue as a blue glow emanated from his body.

Hajime screamed as he pierced the hydra's body, sealing it in the gourd.

Hajime yelled in happiness before his body slammed to the ground in fatigue.

Seeing this, Takeru smiled like a proud parent seeimg his child graduate from kindergarten.
