9 Different Worlds

Scarlett spent the next couple of days hidden away in the abandoned farm house with Cameron. Scarlett would sleep, eat and then sleep again. She would wake up and look in the mirror to see more changes and the fear would grip her heart again. She couldn't believe the changes everytime she awoke. Her eyes slowly changed from their normal emerald green to a glowing yellow, her hearing and sight sharpened to the point where she could hear vehicles driving on the main road in town and she felt like she saw every little detail in what she looked at. As Scarlett's eyes sharpened she could see the differences in Cameron. The way he stood was slightly different, his hair was slightly longer and his body seemed to be etched out of marble.

"You okay?" Cameron's voice cut through Scarlett's thoughts and she slightly jumped, realizing that she had been staring at him.

"Sorry just lost in thought," Scarlett embarrassingly mumbled back. Cameron cracked a smile at her and pointed to her plate in front of her.

"Eat up or it will get cold," Cameron managed to say around a mouth full of food. Scarlett smiled at him and started on her food.

Half way through the meal Scarlett stopped eating and suddenly sat rigid in her seat. Cameron frowned at her and reached out to her, feeling her forehead.

"You okay Scar? You don't like the food?" his hand dropped away from Scarlett's forehead at the same time as her fork dropped away from her hand, making a loud clatter as it collided with her plate. Cameron's face became a haze of worry as overwhelming pain seared across Scarlett's body. Scarlett gave out a startled cry of agony as she suddenly slipped from her seat and collapsed to the floor, writhing in pain. Scarlett could only just hear and feel Cameron calling her name and his hands rushing panickly across her skin.

"Scarlett what's wrong? What's happening?" Scarlett sat up straight suddenly and pushed Cameron away from her, sending him flying across the room to collide with the wall.

"Get away from me!" a vicious snarl of words erupted from Scarlett as her eyes suddenly glowed like the sun. Cameron looked at her astonished as she started to transform into her wolf form. Suddenly instead of Scarlett in front of him there was a white wolf with yellow glowing eyes. She growled at him and suddenly headed for the front door. Cameron dove around her and locked the door, blockading it with his own body as he stared at Scarlett wide eyed. Scarlett huffed at him through her wolf nose and suddenly turned slightly to the left, leaping through the window next to the front door, shattering glass and sending it everywhere, a sudden cascade of rainbow light filling the room. Cameron stood with his back still against the front door, shock covering every inch of his face. Suddenly a howl a few blocks away snapped him from his statue like state and he hurled himself outside the front door, chasing after Scarlett in the dark of the night.
