11 Cameron's POV chapter 2

'What the FUCK have you done!?' Cameron's brain screamed at his wolf as he suddenly took control over his wolf again and found Scarlett an unconscious crumple in his arms. He pulled her small body closer to him and saw the giant bite mark gouged into her petite shoulder, her right hand swollen and bruised looking like it was broken and her palms covered in blood.

Zach his wolf growled in response 'Mate! SHE is our mate! Can you not smell her?!' I froze in absolute disbelief looking down at Scar's crumpled form in his arms.

'That- That can't be true Zach, you have to be wrong! I thought that was the smell of blood and that all humans smelt like that to me!??' my brain fully wanting to reject the idea of Scar being my mate.

'No you dumbass!' Zach growled at me in fury. 'Remember when you fully changed after you were attacked? You saw her Father, and of course he smelt like a diluted version of the best smell in the world cause half of him created your mate! And as I have explained before your mate is going to smell like the most sweetest and most delicious scent you have ever smelt. Sometimes it really pisses me off that you don't listen to what I tell you about Werewolf lore! And don't you dare think of Rejecting her!' And with that he disappeared to the back of my brain and raised walls, making it impossible to communicate with him further.

My brain suddenly snapped back to reality and I was again met with the horrible vision of Scar's crumpled body in my arms. Panic and pain suddenly shot through my body and I winced whilst I pulled Scar close to my chest, one arm around her torso and the other under her legs, as I stood to my feet. I tucked her head into my chest, looking down at her frowning face and suddenly a shudder travelled through my body. I frowned as I kept looking close at her beautiful face, feeling my heart suddenly start to race faster. A sudden scream piercing through the sky pulled me from looking at Scar's face to looking around, remembering that she was in danger and needed to get out of here and to a hospital. I shook my head 'No way is Scar my mate, Zach must be delusional'. And with that I took off with Scar safely secure in my arms.

After running through the Forest and to the edge of the town, I looked back down at Scar and my breath got caught in my throat. Her bite mark that Zach had adorned her with had disappeared and so had all of her other injures. Pure shock pulsed through me like an electric shock. 'ZACH!' I growled loudly enough in my head to shake his walls. I felt him reluctantly lower them, growling at me.

'What?' Zach responded shortly, acting like he didn't want to communicate.

'Her bite is gone.' I said in my brain lethally. 'What have you done to her?' I suddenly felt Zach's elation grow and pump through my body as he howled happily.

'She's transforming buddy... I bit her so she is changing like you did when you first got bit. I'm changing our mate into our same species, isn't that fantastic?' I could feel him bounding around in my head filled with joy but I also felt the shock and horror of my reaction pulse through me.

'You fucking idiot Zach!' I screamed at him as I disconnected myself from him, not wanting to feel his excitement at the horrendous thing he did to Scar. Looking down at her again I felt my body warmth and heart beat spike before I shook my head and took off running.

'I have to keep her safe.'

(1 week later)

I have explained everything to Scar about me being a werewolf, how I got attacked and why I was missing for a year and how I have bitten her and how she will change. She has taken it pretty well and while the idea of changing into something foreign still terrifies her she has always been strong willed and I know she will be able to take this challenge head on and I know she will be a beautiful werewolf. I see new changes within her everyday. Her hair lightening and elongating everyday, her eyes getting lighter and wider, sharper even, her skin seeming to go paler and thicker, but also somehow softer everyday. Her werewolf features were starting to take over and all I could find myself doing was looking at her more and more.

I dart around the kitchen getting dinner ready as Scar sits at the worn and weathered kitchen table, waiting patiently for dinner to be done. After about half an hour I have a lovely dinner of steak, medium cooked so our wolves could get some blood for nutrition, salad, pasta and gravy. I carried the plates over to the kitchen table, placing one in front of Scar and one in front of my chair, plopping myself down in the chair opposite Scar. She gave me a brillant smile before she tucked into her dinner which I followed suit. After eating for a little while Scar suddenly became stock still in her chair and her eyes seemed to glaze over as she held eye contact with me.

"Scar? Are you not hungry?" I asked her looking deep into her eyes to make sure she was okay. After no response I put my hand to her forehead, feeling her skin burning up. "Are you okay Scar?" I asked as my hand dropped from her forehead. At the same time she dropped her fork onto her plate as she screamed out in agony. Her screams felt like they were ripping me inside out and Zach started howling in pain in my head. I lept from my chair as Scar fell from her's. I knocked the table out of my way of Scar's fallen body and knelt beside her, pulling her small frame to my chest as she screamed and writhed in pain.

"Scar can you hear me? What's wrong?" I could feel the panic raising in my chest as Scar continued to scream in agony.

'This is it Cam, she is changing' Zach cried in my head and realisation came tumbling in.

Suddenly Scar stopped screaming and suddenly sat up in my lap. I was about to pull her close when she suddenly pushed with all her might against my chest and sent me flying into the wall. She started to shift in front of my eyes as I watched her eyes fully transform into a molten golden colour, white fur began to sprout from her skin and her body shifted and curled until there was a beautiful white wolf standing in front of me. A wonderful and almost indescribable smell started to fully fill the room and I could feel my heart speeding up and slowing down as I locked eyes with the white wolf that was formally Scar. I began to reach out to her subconsciously as Zach continuously howled in happiness and cried the word 'Mate!' over and over again in my head. As I reached out for her, her ears lowered against her head and lowered her body down to the floor, getting ready to attack or pounce. She suddenly lept forward to the door and I quickly scrambled in front of her slamming it closed behind me with my back against it, not wanting my mate to leave me, especially as she had just shifted for the first time.

She let out a breath of frustration out of he wolf nose and suddenly turned her face from me, my heart burning as her eyes disconnected from mine.

She dived through the air with no effort and suddenly she was gone, she had lept through the window next to the door. I sat in astonishment with the door behind my back, my eyes bulging in disbelief at the window.

I don't know how long I sat there like that but Scarlett's howl a couple of blocks away snapped me from my daze as Zach screamed at me in my head to go find my mate. I let Zach take over, knowing he would more likely catch her in her wolf form than I could in human form. Zach's giant black wolf immediately took over and crashed through the same window, following the sweet scent of his mate and her howls as she drove further into the night, running away from their little town, all the way to the outskirts and even farther.

'Where is she going?' I questioned Zach, still tracking her smell and which direction her howls were coming from. We had lost sight of her but we kept following her scent. She was a newborn wolf on her first shift so of course she was going to be much faster than a year and a half old wolf.

'We will find her,' Zach's calm voice settled me as he kept tracking Scar. 'She is our mate after all.'
