Interlude

|Sakura Matou POV|

"Take the one on the left! Don't let them get away."

I quickly followed the order of our captain and cast a dozen or so spells to kill the Orks, who successfully got on the wall by doing a kamikaze strategy. They use their own body to protect the incoming attack toward them and then crash their helicopter to the wall.

For some reason, some of them survive and begin to attack us with their weapons.

"Sakura, watch out!"

I snap from my thoughts when my sister tackles me just in time as I can see a bolt of light pass by me. I look at my sister with widened eyes.

"Don't daydream in the middle of battle."

After saying that, I see Rin fire a bolt of spell toward the Orks that try to kill me.

"Come on, get up. The fight has yet to finish."

After saying that, Rin helped me get up and helped me fight against another wave of Orks.

"Hahahahaha! Kill them Berserker!"

After killing another Orks, I look to the side and see Illya sitting on her familiar's shoulder and ordering the massive construct to attack the Orks. Because of the nature of Berserker as a magic construct, he is a perfect weapon against the Orks.

Sadly, he is also vulnerable to their attack. It was a silver bullet that cut both ways. Or was it a glass cannon? I think it was a glass cannon.

Yeah. Berserker is a glass cannon. He can kill the Orks in one swing, but he can also be defeated with a single powerful attack. Lucky for the Berserker, Illya stayed on his shoulder the entire time. He's the one that blocks all the incoming attacks and lets berserkers do the attacking.

"Sealing Magic: Higanbana!"

I cast my sealing magic, and suddenly a red flower appeared from the ground. The flower then releases twelve tentacles that grab the Orks around it before burning them into ashes.

This is an original spell I created with the help of Medea shishou. This spell was designed to hold my enemy's movement, but Medea Shishou said it would be a waste to create a simple sealing spell.

Because of that, this spell also burns my enemy alive using a liquid released by the tentacle.

After killing the last Orks on the wall, our captain looks at us and says,

"Good job. Take a little break. Three minutes."

I nodded my head and walked to the safe area inside the wall. However, before I could do that, I heard an explosion in the distance. I look back and see senpai fighting against a massive machine by dropping a gigantic sword above it.

It was a new sword I had never seen. It was a massive sword that pierced through the machine under it. I really hope that senpai and Riser-sama are okay. Those two are the people that accepted me as their family member, and I did not want to lose them.

I don't care how powerful this company is, but I will exact my revenge if something happens to them.

|Gerard Smith POV|

I should not accept this mission! I did not want to die!

"What are you doing there?!? Quickly take that machine gun and shoot those damned Orks!"

I really want to disobey that woman's command, but I also know that I cannot go back to my world without the company's permission. I retake the machine gun station with a heavy heart and body and begin gunning down on the Orks.

Blood, bone, and intestine get spread out from each of the Orks I killed.

While that sight is horrifying, what makes me more afraid is the Orks. They did not scream in pain. No. They scream in pleasure. The more I kill their brethren, the more aggressive they become.

The worst thing about them is their warcry.

"WAAAGH! WAAAGH! WAAAGH!"

They continue to chant that warcry as if it was a holy word, and I think it was a holy word for them as the more they chant, the more powerful they become. They can be killed with two or three bullets, but the longer they chant that word, the more bullets it needs for them to be taken down.

*BOOM*

I can hear an explosion happening above me. I look up and see a thick shield made of crystal floating above me. I know who owns this crystal-like construct. I look to the side and see a beautiful young woman firing a spell at the Orks underneath us.

I nodded at her expressing my thanks before continuing to aim my gun at the Orks in the air. However, not even ten seconds later, I hear our captain shout at us.

"Watch out! Climber!"

Before I could get away from my machine gun, the Orks that arrived on our wall pointed their guns at me and shot me.

"ARRRGH"

It hurt. It hurt so much. I look down and can see my stomach has a hole in it. Argh. It hurt. Help. Help me, please. I want to go home. Please...

"Come on! I will not let you die."

I can see a man run toward me and carry me in his arms. A few seconds later, the man is laying me down on the ground, and then I see his hand glow for a little bit.

A second later, I can see a warm feeling engulfing me for a minute before suddenly I feel energized and feel like I can continue to fight. After finished healing me, the man helped me get up and said,

"You are good to go. Come on; we need to continue to fight. I know you want to go home, but please bear a little bit longer."

I couldn't help but blush at the man's innocent smile that looked like a warm morning sun. Dammit. Hold it together. You are straight as an arrow.

"Yes. Let's do that."

I want to go home. I want to stay on my bed lazing around all day, but I guess I can hold for another week.

I look at a group of women and men working together, attacking and blocking the incoming Orks. Yeah. As long as I'm with them, I can see myself surviving this quest.

However, after finishing this quest, I will take my seven days vacation for this year.
