1 Beginning

It is the year 2289.

Humans have changed thinking over the years and practically evolved the human brain in the process. In 1823, the first human expedition was made to mars and in this expedition, they found a book inside a cave. No one has a clue on how the book got there or who made it.

They may have no known yet but that book would change the course of human progression forever. The book had groundbreaking ideologies that changed how everyone could think.

It trained the human mind on how to work properly, curing all emotional limits and reinforcing self-control, rationality, common sense, and morals.

With these newfound changes, humanity exploded with groundbreaking tech to advance into the universe. It was still a fresh generation of human thinking so they still chased after stupid thoughts like contacting extraterrestrial life but after centuries of trying to find them, humans never did.

But what did change was the brain, after that giant period of time cultivating a new perfect generation of thinking, the brain finally evolved into 100% of what it was previously

After that humans got bored of progression and changed to a new goal, entertainment.

Video games have reached a new level of popularity after this as new RPG MMOs like Tirina of angels and Kinpoe Oasis have sold 100 billion copies all over the Monarchs ring of galaxies.

Billions of gamers arose from this as legendary gamers like Six-Thousandth-Nexus and XLux_ who just won the east ring galactic tournament for the universe's most popular game RPG MMO Relentless that has over 500 billion copies sold.

People like these have become a new topic around the whole universe. Moreover, the great king of galad Penny_Under_The_Sun declared a ten-year peace treaty with Atross_Killing the king of Philip.

...

Lux read the article carefully, trying to find a way to research his opponent.

He had been playing video games for quite some time and found that he loved playing VR PVP. Lux was born with a very athletic and energetic body, he loved fighting too but was never into boxing or sparring in real life.

But now that he played VR fighting games, he could gain a good amount of money and have plenty of fun. Unexpectedly, he got quite famous for his fighting talent and became a hot topic on bewtube.

He never complained about it because he had gained quite a few friends from his new profession like Six-Thousandth-Nexus. He was quite happy with his new life.

He slouched onto his chair and looked at his ceiling, sighing.

"How long has it been since I have gone outside?" Lux asked himself.

He turned his chair around and got up, looking at his cat nibbles he smiled warmly. Lux grabbed his coat and put on his shoes, he opened the door and turned back.

"Bye Nibbles!" He closed the door and walked down the steps of his apartment.

He walked down the city alleyways and looked at the three moons shined ever-so brightly with a tint of blue emanating from all three of them in an arched line.

Lux went down to a local bakery and bought some bread there, he began to eat the bread by the river feeding the 4 winged ducks every once in a while.

"It sure has been a while since I left that dump of a place, I sure don't miss it," Lux said out loud.

After some time of feeding the ducks, Lux jogged around the area to see the area. A small plaza was settled down in the park where people could roast marshmallows and pop fireworks. Lux sat down and watched the small kids run around chasing each other around the fountain.

"Hey, buddy! Why yu' look so glum? I can't have my jolly-self being corrupted by your depressing aura, come un' tell me your story" An old man in a tattered dirty green shirt approached Lux.

"Oh sorry elder, I didn't know I looked so depressed but rest assured that I'm just tired elder" Lux replied.

"Mmmmm, your different from the rest isn't yu'?" He asked.

"I would like to think so, yet not so much compared to the 44 trillion people out there in the vast universe elder".

"Please, call me Percy. So, what made you look like a dried apricot? Not even I would look that bad after a day of hard work" The old man sat down next to Lux.

"How about elder Perce? I guess lack of fresh air, you see elder Perce, I have a job that forces me to stay inside a lot so sometimes I skip some breakfast or lunch due to work" Lux explained.

"Mmmm, young ones sure have it hard nowadays" Elder Perce scratched his chin and continued by asking" Say? how old are you?".

"Hmm, I have been alive for around 144 years but I have been cryo-frosted for most of that time so I think it's around 22 real years" Lux shrugged.

"Oh! well if we are talking about cryo-frosting, then I've been alive for around 13,761 years but in real years I've been alive for only 1877 years" Elder Perce said.

Lux raised his brows, the average lifespan for someone is around 2000 years but to be cryo-frosted for that long he must have ventured around half the universe!

"Woah, where did you go?" Lux was curious to know who this old man was.

"Well, Believe it or not, I used to be a space pirate" The old man chuckled.

"Ah, I see it now" The more Lux looked at the old man, the more he recognized how he was one.

On both arms, small little scars were shone, almost naked to the eye. He also had a tattoo on his shoulder that was a pair of lines that made up a palm tree flag.

"You were part of the seashore pirates? Old man, you have piqued my interest" Lux said.

"Oh, were those the good ol' days. We used to have so much fun, I even met the love of my life there. Her name was Regime" Elder Perce looked up in the three fluorescent moons, daydreaming of something.

"I'm sure they were good ol' days, Elder" Lux patted his back.

They continued chatting for a while longer before parting ways once midnight struck. Lux walked back after replenishing his skin, like the old man said, he really lacked nutrition.

Lux jogged around the neighborhood before heading back home.

...

The next day, Lux got onto the game Relentless.

He had set up base somewhere off in the badlands of the continent Flora. There weren't many people around the place which made it a perfect place to set up a base.

He found a small cliff and constructed a shelter inside it. The reason not many people set up base around there was that there were barely or no resources to thrive there.

But after some personal research, Lux found that the badlands was actually an amazing place to live in. For one, no people to pester you and plenty of high-class monsters to fight. Of course, you need more than just monsters like water and wood. But Lux had a whole inventory full of resources and more from his legendary class Black Horned elephant which gives the master 5000 more inventory slots than normal.

After some hours passed, Lux finally settled all his items into his base. He then got a notification on his phone which was connected to the VR console for him to see. It was a text message from an unknown user. It read:

Congratulations!

You have been chosen as a candidate to become the Monarch of Plays disciple!

You will now be sent to God's Mercy in 10 minutes from when you have gotten this message.

Time before launch: 9 minutes and 43 seconds-

Lux ignored the message completely thinking it was a scamming ad but wondered how it got his personal id number.

He shrugged it off and started hunting some monsters. In the middle of slaying a wild leaf tortoise, the screen went black.

Lux regained concious and pulled the VR headset off his head and looked around his room. It was dark, it seemed the power went out which was odd but he didn't think anything of it.

He got an alert message on his phone and pulled it out of his pocket.

It read:

Alert!

In 20 seconds you will be sent to God's Mercy, prepare yourself!

"What is this bullshit?" Lux stroked his chin and closed the pop-up.

Then a voice ran through his head in a robotic tone.

"5!"

"4!"

"3!"

"2!"

"1!"

Lux's body started shaking, sweat dripped from his face like crazy. His body instincts told him to be scared and to run but he stood still in a trance.

"Transporting now" The voice rang through his ears again.

Whats happening?

Lux's eyes started closing, he fell to the ground.
