20 Stopped Being A Fish

"N-no! You asshole octopus... Give me my water back!"

Startled at my own, incoherent dream mumblings, I bolt awake, confused and disoriented.

Eventually, my brain catches up to what's happening, a sudden realization raising up in the chaotic well the makes up my mind.

Looking down, something is confirmed to me seeing a small, yet human body.

'Boss turned me into a humanoid... Girl...'

Startled a bit at how easily I'm accepting Hyde as my new boss, I realize that she's probably done with editing me...

Looking around, I notice that I'm no longer in Hydes small house, but rather one of the many bedrooms in the shrine.

Sitting up fully from my previous position, locks of pink and blue hair full into my eyes. Brushing them aside, I glance around the simple room, spotting a small full body mirror on the other side of the room.

Scooting to the edge of the bed, I hop off, fully realizing just how small I actually am.

Stumbling a bit on my landing, I awkwardly make my way over to the mirror, slightly unfamiliar with my new body.

Finally making it to the mirror, I gaze into it, revelling in the image of my new form.

Standing just across from me is a short girl, around four foot and a half, probably half a foot less then Hydes own height. She has knee length hair tied into a hairstyle I'm not familiar with... If I had to describe it, I would say she has two low ponytails.

Her hair is pink on the outer side, while on their other its a light blue. Her eyes are the same colours as her hair, mainly being light blue, with slight flecks of pink. Within her light blue globes are two four-pointed stars, acting as her pupils.

Her clothing shares the same blue and pink flair, wearing a baggy yet fitting jacket, short shorts, and sneakers of mismatched color. Under her jacket, she wears a plain white t-shirt.

Among other oddities, the main ones I notice are the various pink and blue bandages splayed across her skin and the pink and grey halo hovering slightly above her head.

Looking at the girl, the new me, I sigh slightly... Yet I can't help but think I'm quite cute... Especially with the permanent half-blank half-curious expression plastered on my face.

Not seeing any problems with myself, I wander out of the room, hoping to find where Hyde is.

Walking through the halls of the shrine, I notice that rather than the previous ruined state, it no seems rather... Normal. Guessing that Hyde had fixed it up somehow, I continue on my walk, also noting that rather than water, the shrine is filled with air.

As I pass by a window it's possible to see that it's night out, as well as that we are above ground and in a forest. Looking far off, I can see a massive sprawling city, covering the horizon.

Continuing on my search for Hyde, I eventually find myself in the kitchen, face to face with a certain goddess.

"Well? I'm hungry, y'know~"

Deciding it's not worth upsetting her, I quietly comply with her unspoken request.

Surprised that the kitchen is fully stocked, I wonder briefly why Hyde doesn't just create her own food, before I continue searching for what to make.

Eventually, I just make a grilled cheese, realizing that I have rather limited cooking skills.

Yet, it seems she doesn't mind, as she happily eats what I put in front of her, a joyful expression on her face as she eats the grilled cheese rather gracefully.

Sitting down, I bite into my own grilled cheese, looking down slightly and focusing completely on the food.

Then I feel it, two burning spots boring into my soul, looking up I realize that Hyde is done with the food, looking at me imploringly.

"Well?"

Gulping down my food, I set down the sandwich, tilting my head slightly at her vague question.

"U-um, what is it boss..."

Talking in a quiet voice, feeling awkward at the sound of my own voice, I ask her what she wanted to know...

"Sigh... Any more questions? You seemed to have a lot last time so I thought you'd have some more."

She says so in a rather dry voice.

Of course, there are a few questions on my mind, but...

Noticing the slight hint of reluctance on my face she sighs, looking down she starts to pick at her nails.

"Fine, since you don't want to ask me, I'll answer the questions that are probably on your mind..."

Blowing lightly on her nails, she brings her attention back to me.

"First of all, I turned you into my angel... Since everyone knows that angels are subordinates if the gods."

Saying this, she leans over the small table and lightly flicks the halo above my head, causing it to drift slightly.

"No one will be able to see this... Unless they practice magic."

Glancing up for a moment, she seems to think for a moment before looking back at me.

"I completely restored and restocked this shrine, so supply won't be an issue, and... Right now we're in a different world than before."

This, causes a slight reaction from me, causing me can't to know the reason behind our relocation...

"And the reason we're in a different world is that you are uneducated."

"Huh?"

Muttering the first words since I've seen Hyde, she stands up, giving a big grin to me.

"Suprised, right? Well, I thought since you're an uneducated dummy, I'd enrolled you in school... After all, no subordinate of this goddess should be uneducated!"

Noticing the slight dismay on my face, she stands up, adopting a fatherly expression on her face.

"Don't worry champ, I'm sure you'll do fine there..."

She pats me on the shoulder while looking down at me kindly.

"After all, Tokiwadai is the best middle school there is!"

'Tokiwadai... Middle school?'

Heyo heyo, how was the chapter? I hope it wasn't too anti-climatic for her humanization...

Hm, I'm kinda on the fence whether Hyde should be clueless about the worlds they're going to or if she should just be a troll...

Also, if you have a problem with MC having a boss than... Oh well.

Honestly, I'm trying to salvage this somewhat, and it's easier to try and have someone else tell her what to do than give her some sudden new motivation.

Oh, and if you're worried about Hyde making her do unreasonable things, then don't.

Just a note here, since the next chapter is the actual start of the fanfic part of this fanfic, I probably will have to delay updates for a bit. If you're wondering why then it's because I have to research Toaru.
