5 Chapter 5- The Paper Luke Gave
It's been a couple of weeks since Luke gave me his sweatshirt, and he hasn't spared me a second glance since I gave it back to him. Which is fine by me, since it's just ensuring that I'll be 50 bucks richer in a matter of months.
Right now I'm in my Physics class, which is two hours before school is over. I've given up on taking notes because Mr. Hansen, who isn't the world's best teacher, keeps going off onto tangents that are completely unrelated to the topic. I sit by the window, so I just look out of it and admire nature.
"Ms. Dawson," a voice said, snapping my out of the daze I didn't know I was in, "have you been paying attention to me?"
"I-I uh y-yes sir," I say as I feel the heat rise to my face.
"Well, then what was the last thing I said?"
"Uh you said, and I quote, "Ms. Dawson, have you been paying attention to me?" Sir"
Mr. Hansen's face heated up with embarrassment while the class erupts in laughter, and turned back to the board to continue teaching. As he continues to drone on and on about useless facts, I start to stare out the window again.
*le time skip*
After what feels like a million hours, the bell rings twice signaling the end of the school day. I walked out of my last period class with a jump in my step because Luke hasn't bothered me in weeks, and I get to go the movies with Jennifer, which I am hyped for.
As I walk to the cafe across the street from the school to meet Jennifer, I bump into someone. I quickly apologized and bend down to pick up the books that I dropped when I hear his voice.
"Hey watch where your going next time"
I look up to see Luke. He looks over at me and appears to do a double-take as if he can't believe that I was there. Although I can't blame him, I'm pretty invisible to everyone, so he was probably just making sure I wasn't a figure of his imagination.
"S-Sky?" He stutters, and I'm actually quite surprised for two reasons. One because he stuttered, the "bad boy" stuttered, and two, he remembered my name. I guess the look of shock was pretty evident on my face because he just chucked and said, "Just because I'm the 'Bad Boy' doesn't mean I don't know people's name. Everyone just assumes I don't give a shit about anyone."
"oh yeah sorry, didn't mean to judge," I say sheepishly "I should get going...bye," I start walking away from Luke when He calls after me.
"SKY!"
I turn around to see what he wants when I see him walking towards me.
"You dropped your paper, it looked important soo," Luke says while holding a piece of paper out to me. I quickly say thanks and started heading across the street to meet with Jennifer.
I finally got to the Cafe when I realized I was still holding my books, so once I reach the booth that Jennifer was sitting at, I start putting my books back into my bag.
"Hey, Girlie!" Jennifer says
"Hola chica," I say without looking up from my bag.
"Sooooo anything new with Luke? I saw you talking to him" Jennifer says with a smirk. This statement gets me to look up at her.
"You stalker! What the heck Jen? and for your information, I only talked to him cause I accidentally bumped into him." I say, giving Jennifer the evil eye in the process. I turn my attention back to putting my books in my bag when I come across the paper that Luke gave me.
"Oh my god," I say with my hand covering my mouth, "Jennifer look"
I turn the paper towards Jennifer...and lets just say what on the paper leaves both Jennifer and me in complete utter shock...
