Chapter 8 - Secret of a Lake

Both of us take off as we fly into the sky. I hear the little cub on my back gasp in awe. I can't help but chuckle at his reaction.

"How was it, little one?" I ask as the cub looks at me with a bright smile.

"It's amazing!" The little guy exclaimed in awe. "I would never expect myself to descend into the sky! And now I do, and this is the greatest feeling I ever felt in my life!"

"Haha, that's great to hear, little cub!" I said with a fond smile.

"Now I can see why you stop flapping your wings mid-flight, sir." I flinch before I feel my scaly face heating up.

"Y-yeah....let's not talk about that," I mutter in embarrassment. "A-anyways, I would recommend to always remember this feeling. Because this will help you to improve your wind magic."

"Eh? Is that true!?" The little cub asked in awe and disbelief.

"How is that so, my lord?" The dragon suddenly gets closer, completely curious at my words.

"You see, a lot of living beings believe that magic is just casting spells, but visualization is important. If you feel the wind that hits your body, you will be able to remember the feeling when you try to learn magic. And when you cast a magic spell while visualizing the feelings, your wind magic will be more proficient because it was based on experience." I explain as both kids blink in confusion. I sigh, guessing that my explanation wasn't the best.

"Just think of it like how to walk. You know how walking works, and for the rest of your life, you won't be able to mess up while walking." I said as both boys blinked again.

"I.....I'm pretty sure it wasn't that simple." The cub stated.

"Fine, no need to believe me," I mutter before grinning mischievously.

Oh, wind, carry me and my companions in a great speed!

I can feel myself pushed by the wind and everything starts to move fast. I hear the little cub screams in fear, excitement, joy, and all the other emotions. As for the dragon

"AAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!! I'M SORRY MY LORD!!!! I WILL NEVER DOUBT YOU!!!!"

.....yeah, he's having the best day of his life. We manage to land on the lake that the dragon previously guarded. I hear the kids groaning before they start to make barfing noises.

Yeah, they're having the best time in their life.

"H-here we are....sir...." The dragon moves shakily before he stumbles and falls to the ground face-first. I can't help but wince as the little cub groans and I feel him placing his head on my right wing.

.....I think I may have taken it too far.....

Oh, Mana, heed my command and remove the nauseating feelings from my comrades.

I can see the kids start to glow green as they get up and look at their bodies in surprise. They then looked at me in shock, looking like they didn't expect me to heal them.

"W-why?" The dragon asked.

"....is it too much for me to give a little kindness?" I asked in bafflement. Seriously, what did they expect me to do!? It's a basic human-!

Oh.....right...we're not humans.....great, I just think that what I did is normal without considering that it's so strange for them! Hello, Leo, you got morherfucking isekai'd remember? They have completely different customs, different mindsets, different morals, different everything!

"...don't think too much about it," I mutter before looking at the lake. "So, this is the place you wanted to guard so badly. What's in it that you-!?"

I froze when my eyes saw bright and colorful wisps emerge from the water like how steam erupts from a natural hot spring. This is the first time I ever saw something so beautiful in my life.

"As expected from my lord, you possess the Mana Vision." I froze when I heard it. Why does he make it sound like it's a gift from birth that only special creatures can access? "Even amongst the Platinum Dragon Lord, Mana Vision is still considered rare! My lord, you possess one shows how formidable you are."

IT IS A GIFT FROM BIRTH THAT ONLY SPECIAL CREATURES CAN ACCESS!!!

"I rather you not hype me so much," I mutter. "So, why is the lake so rich in mana?"

"Ah, that's because it is." I look at the dragon, hoping he can elaborate more. I continue to stare at him as he looks at me in discomfort. "Umm, my lord? Why are you staring at me like that? D-did I say something wrong?" Oh, right, not humans.

"Sorry, I was waiting for you to explain more," I said as the dragon gasped and bowed down.

"M-my apologies! I didn't understand your messages and assumed for the worse!" I groan loudly and smack my head at a nearby tree.

"Stop apologizing," I mutter.

"R-right! You see, my lord, under the lake, there's a lot of magic crystal that radiates mana. Any creatures who made contact with such crystal will be able to access mana. It's quite a rare thing to find, but for some reason, there's so many of them underneath it." The dragon said. "I found this out when I got injured badly as I was hunted by my siblings-!?"

"Wait, what!?" I exclaimed in disbelief. "Your siblings did what?!"

"I-it's nothing important, my lord-!" I grab his shoulder and shake him.

"Not important my ass! What kind of family did that to you!? Did your father ever find out!!?" I asked frantically as the dragon looked uncomfortable.

"I....rather not talk about it. .." I sigh before letting him go. "You're different, sir. All dragons will try to dive and take the crystal themselves."

"Toss your expectations about the 'western tribes' away when you talk to me. I'm not like them." I said before looking at the lake. "So, you're saying that a lot of magic crystal is in here. And the huge amount of concentration of mana in the water will allow anyone who drinks it to access mana?"

"A-as expected from my lord! You figure it out with ease!" I sweatdrop again. It wasn't that hard to figure it out.

"...." I froze before I turned around to see the little cub fall asleep on my back. "....I should go back now."

"E-eh?" The dragon looks so confused. I guess he expects me to kill him and get the lake for myself. I snort at the thoughts before flying away. "EEEHHHH!!!!?!?"

Yeah, he has too many expectations from me.
