7 Dystopian Cat

"Congratulations to Fluffles, Detrix, Ashfire, Thexdoctorx0, and Cynthes. You're the third team to overcome the challenge." A system message announces to the group.

"We didn't get first," Fluffles pouted, looking over to the others, "is there a way to find out who the other two groups were?"

Detrix shook her head, "there isn't a way to find out right now. Perhaps after the event, they'll post all the winners."

"I understand why you're interested in the others, but I'm interested in what our prize is. The exp and money we got is nice and all, but we can get that with some grinding. I'm sure we took this challenge for something much better. " Ashfire was practically bouncing up and down with how excited she was.

Everyone turned to Fluffles since the party leader received the special prize. "Our special prize is the orb of thunder," Fluffles announced, pulling a purple orb from her inventory.

"Orb of thunder, I'm not familiar with it. What is it?" Cynthes asked.

"It's probably another element, similar to the orb of flames that Fluffles used in battle," Detrix explained, remembering the first time she used it, back when Fluffles tried her first glass of milk.

"I don't need it. The orb of flames is more than enough for me," Fluffles stated.

"I don't think I can use it. I don't know how electricity is going to help a healer. Besides, I came because we had an agreement. So there isn't any point in giving it to me," Doctor0 explained as she looked over to Cynthes, becoming curious about something.

"I'm just an extra in your group. So there isn't any point in giving it to me either," Cynthes added as she noticed Doctor0 looking at her, "what?"

"I never got a chance to try, but do my needles work on you? Your skin looks like its stone and scales, so I'm curious," Doctor0 stated.

Cynthes rolled her eyes, "it's a game; it'll work for balancing reasons. Imagine a healer who couldn't heal their allies, stupid." Cynthes extended her arm, "make it quick."

Doctor0 suddenly had a huge grin and twirled a needle in their hand, stabbing it into Cynthes' arm. "I guess it does work," Doctor0 pouted as Cynthes didn't react to the needle, spoiling the fun.

Fluffles turned to Ashfire and Detrix, "so between you two, which one should I give it to?" Fluffles asked.

"Adding explosions with electricity does sound pretty cool, so I don't mind using it," Ashfire stated, thinking about electric explosions.

"What other skills do you have?" Fluffles asked, wanting to get a better idea if Ashfire should get the orb.

"I hate calling them skills. Do you think I need a skill to throw a grenade at someone?" Ashfire retorts.

"Can you throw a grenade without the skill?" Fluffles questions.

"Well, no, but I don't have to put any thought into it," Ashfire tried to explain as she glanced over to Detrix, begging her friend for help.

"I think I'm getting confused on skills," Fluffles says as she tilts her head.

"Now look what you've done," Detrix scolded her friend before looking at Fluffles. "So skills fall into two categories, activation and buffs. Your poison blade is activated, and your back attack is passive. It's simple if you want to use poison blade, you'll use it, whereas passive effects happen naturally. Like back attack will activate when striking from behind. That's why Ashfire doesn't like to call them skills, even though the game and help system do," Detrix explained, the best she could.

"That does explain how I can have poison on my claws without thinking much about it," Fluffles nodded.

"Ashfire wants to call them something else. I don't know what, but don't think too hard on it," Detrix stated.

"Well, if I don't know what Ashfire can use, then I can't give her the orb of thunder," Fluffles pointed out.

"Fine, I use explosion grenades, repulse grenades, and smoke bombs. I also get a bonus for crafted items, and my level twenty unlock was cluster grenades, where I can throw three grenades of my choice," Ashfire reluctantly answered.

Fluffles nodded and turned to Detrix. "What about you?"

"My class uses skills to damage an enemy's weakness, so I have an assortment of liquids I pour onto my blade, like silver, holy water, buffs against humans, and recently pinpoint strike. It seems I can't do too much against creatures of metal, though. I'm probably useless against most monsters without flesh." Detrix explained, feeling a bit down that she couldn't do more in that fight.

Fluffles handed the orb over to Detrix, "If we need to, we could swap the orbs around once we get more." Fluffles turned to Cynthes next. "Since you don't have a party, why not come with us," Fluffles offered.

"Hmm, maybe. What are you planning to do?" Cynthes asked.

"World domination!" Ashfire interrupted before her face scrunched a bit. "or is it worlds domination," she wondered. "This isn't a multiverse or a galaxy. Dominating all the worlds doesn't sound as good." She began mumbling to herself.

"Our guild will be known as, the dominator of worlds," Detrix interjected.

"Sounds interesting; I'll join up." Doctor0 stated, looking over to Fluffles, "I take it she'll be our guild leader?"

"Yea, and we never got to tell you earlier, but she's an actual cat," Ashfire announced, wanting to see the reaction on their faces.

While Doctor0 showed disbelief as most people would, Cynthes didn't have the same reaction, as she seemed more accepting of it.

"You don't seem surprised," Detrix noticed.

"It is strange, but even I can play despite my...condition, so I can believe a cat playing." Cynthes paused as she spoke, not wanting to talk more about herself.

"No, no, but we're talking about a cat since their brain is different than ours. There is no way she's an actual cat, but if you one, then prove it." Unlike Cynthes, Doctor0 couldn't believe it.

Fluffles walked up to Doctor0 and suddenly put her hand on his face and started patting her against the face. "If you believe me, I might let you pet me."

"Anyone can do what you're doing, it's not proof you're a cat, and could you stop that," She pulled Fluffles' hand away, only for her to bring up the other hand and continue patting Doctor0's face.

"Does it matter if I'm a cat? Whether it's getting me food, or building me a guild, you'll still give me what I want." Fluffles announced.

"Whatever, just please stop." Doctor0 backed up so Fluffles couldn't reach her.

"So where are we going to build this guild. Which of the six worlds will we build our guild? Eastern Fantasy, Western Fantasy, Celestial, Steampunk, Eldritch, and Urban." Cynthes pointed out.

"What's the difference between Eastern and Western Fantasy?" Fluffles asked.

"Eastern has giant flying snakes, Western has giant flying lizards," Ashfire joked.

Detrix chuckled a little while shaking her head, "that's a terrible explanation. Eastern is more cultivation and martial arts. While western is more might and magic."

Fluffles nodded her head, pretending to understand, figuring it made more sense once they head to eastern or western fantasy.

Ashfire tried to bring the topic back to the guilds, wanting everyone to keep focused. "We talked about guilds before we met you two and decided to build in one area with a mixture of stuff bought from the other worlds," Ashfire explained.

"Oh, how about a dystopian guild," Dytrix suggested.

"Dystopias are horrible places. Why would you want our guild to be one?" Ashfire asked.

"Whats a dystopia?" Fluffles interjected. Since the word was from outside the game, there was no reference for the system to help her understand.

"Pretty much a horrible place where people live wretched lives," Ashfire answered before turning back to Detrix, "how would we even create such a thing?"

"A dystopia is only bad for those at the bottom, in this case, the NPCs. If we can pass off an airship in steampunk as a blimp in Urban, we could attach searchlights, among other things and use it as our base," Detrix eagerly explained.

"I would be all for it," Cynthes added. "I think it would be funny the first cat player is a dictator."

"I'm warming up to the idea as well, but it would cost a lot of money for an airship," Doctor0 pointed out.

"Are you all insane? Fluffles, you don't want your legacy to be one of fear and terror, right?" Ashfire was practically pleading with Fluffles to change their minds.

"The others think it'd be cool, so we should do it. I'll be the best dystopian leader ever!" Fluffles declared, causing Ashfire to facepalm as the other giggled.

"If we're doing this, then let's go all in. Should we head to Urban and finish the main story there so we can build a guild, then come back here to buy an airship?" Ashfire suggested.

"It seems that's the plan, any objections?" Detrix asked as everyone shook their head. "Then let's begin Fluffles' dystopian guild.
