25 Chapter 22
I look around and yes! All the windows are closed. So, how did the crow get in?
"I think we should get going now. We shouldn't stay here any longer." I said looking at all the members.
"Why so sudden?" Auriga asked with his left eyebrows went up.
"hahaha, I don't think that we should stay here. We need to go to another village." I laughed awkwardly.
I look at Pyxis looking at the crow too and agreed with me. All of us continue our journey. First, we walked like usual until I saw that the crow follow us. I hold Auriga and Cygnus's hands and start running while Lupus and Pyxis catch up to us. We ran until I found a cave. We quickly enter it to lose the crow. All of us were sweating and breathing heavingly.
"What the hell!! Why are we running?" Auriga shouted but still out of breath.
"We were being followed, master." Pyxis continued.
"who is it?" Lupus asked.
"a crow." I said and was stopped with the other shocked face. "hear me out. The crow seems suspicious." I continued.
"well, I don't know any crow from the demon lord," Auriga said while rubbing his forehead.
"master," Cygnus called me. I looked at her and she seems worried. "during my slavery, I once met a crow who is also a constellation like me. We talked before." Cygnus explained to me.
Cygnus' POV
Flashback,
It was a horrible past that I want to forget but couldn't cause I met a crow. He was captured lately and they put his cage beside me. He was horrified and cried every night. One day, I got the courage to talk to him.
"Hello, my name is Cygnus. Why are you here?" I introduced myself.
"Hel..lo my name is Corvus. I... I was living my peaceful life until I got this curse." Corvus cried.
"curse?" I shocked.
"it's better for you to not speak with me," he said crying on his own.
I believed him and stay away from him until I was bought again.
Now, it must be the same crow!
Kyo's POV
"hmm, can you go to him Cygnus?" I asked her. We can talk peacefully with him and maybe he can join us. The question is why he chases us if he wants Cygnus to avoid him in the past. Did he hold a grudge? No that can't be.
"I will talk to him. He will not know me in this form but maybe in my swan form." Cygnus said as she transforms into her swan form. Cygnus came out of the cave and all of us watch from behind. I connect Berenice to Cygnus so we can help her if she's in a hole without a ladder.
Cygnus' POV
As I walk out of the cave, I saw a crow flying and was looking for something. It may be us. As I walk closer to it, he saw me and landed down.
"Hello, do I know you from somewhere?" the crow asks me. It was him! Corvus!
"Hello Corvus, long time no see." I waved at him with my wing.
"you're the swan that I met at the slave place." he realizes who am I.
"yeah," I continued smiled awkwardly.
"Do you perhaps saw humans walked into these woods?" Corvus asked me. He seems to look for us.
Master, he seems looking for us.
[ask him without telling it was us.] master voice said in my head through Berenice.
"human? I don't seem to see them but why are you asking?" I asked him.
"you don't know this but ever since I was traded many countless times, I despise humans. I usually drove them away. I live in that city and bring bad luck to all the humans until they move out." Corvus explained. Corvus has changed! He used to be kind and never harm others but I would be in the same position if I never met the master.
" Sorry but I don't see any human here," I told him a lie.
Suddenly, we heard footsteps and it looks like a nun. She has black hair and has a slim body.
"you must be the curse being that lived beside you in the village." the nun pointed to Corvus. "don't worry, I will be sending you to God." the nun continues.
"Corvus, I think we should run," I said holding his wing. Then, we flew to the village to find a place to hide from that nun.
Master, do you know how did she found us?
[I don't know.] the master replied frustrated.
[it's because she can sense some powerful mana around the cave.] Berenice replied.
[what do you mean?] master asked Berenice.
[as we all know that constellation is a powerful gift from the god, it makes the user more powerful and many mana will surround the user. People with mana detection can see that. This problem is the same when we fought the phantom.] Berenice explain.
We flew to one of the houses and stay there for a while but I know that the nun will find us in no time.
Kyo's POV
We have no time to waste! Cygnus and that crow can be killed at any time. All of staying there and saw the nun chased after Cygnus and the crow. As she running towards them, we all sneaked out of the cave and ran with hiding ourselves from her sight. When she arrived in the village, she quickly searches the entire house in the village. Finally, she found the house where Cygnus and the crow were hiding.
Cygnus' POV
She found out where we are! I need to help Corvus escaped. I look to Corvus directly in the eyes.
"Corvus, I will buy you some time and you have to fly away from here," I said but Corvus shook.
"no, I can drive this nun away," Corvus explained.
"that nun will not listen to you. She doesn't afraid of curses cause she is very religious. You can see that by the way she speaks to us." I encourage Corvus to leave.
Suddenly, she enters the room that we were hiding. We are hiding in the cabinet. I push the door and Corvus flew outside of the house using a window. The nun tried to chase him but I stopped her by using my feathers.
" you disturb me! You will be purified immediately!" the nun said while her black eyes stare dead at me while her smile looks like a wicked one. I transform into my human form and she was a little shocked.
"so you are a demon?! I will be surely exorcist you demon!!" she said while reaching a knife from her pocket. The knife was small but can kill someone with just one stab from it. I quickly ran outside the house and the nun chase after me. I keep attacking the nun but she was able to dodge all of them. I was shocked cause not a normal human can dodge it.
"you notice it too right?" she asked me. Suddenly, her pale skin transforms into gray. Her appearance seems to be similar to the ogre that we fought from when I first met the master. "you're kind to kill my brother and now, I'm going to kill you next! Hahaha hahaha!" she laughed crazily. Suddenly, she got hid from behind. She looked behind and saw Lupus, Pyxis, Auriga, and Master.
"you will also have to fight with us." the master said.
"hahaha! Unlike my brother, I was very excellent with fighting!" she said running to master while getting ready to punch him. Luckily, Pyxis teleport all of them beside me, and the punch was dodge safely. The ogre was shocked and look behind and saw master transform into his Lupus form.
Corvus' POV
I was flying out of the window while Cygnus sacrifices herself to save me. I was about to leave until I saw Cygnus transform into a human. I watch from afar and the human that I was looking for was Cygnus?! Why would she lie to me? I flew on top of a chimney and look at her battle. Suddenly, a group of humans came. I thought that they are going to attack Cygnus but they are helping her?! So Cygnus has friends now, I thought that she was still a slave but she was rescued by them huh? I wish that I have those same opportunities as her, to be free and enjoy my life but I can't cause this curse.
3 years ago, I woke up and everywhere I go, I always bring bad luck. Many people hate me and some love me cause they can make money out of me. One day, I became a slave and meet Cygnus I don't want her to get hurt because of my curse like my family was. One day, the slave carriage got into an accident. My cage was damaged and I flew away and found this village. From that moment, I promise myself that I will hate humans and curse all of them. I stay there for 2 months and finally the human left the village. I was so happy that day but something is missing. Maybe someone who can share this place with me?
