Olivia and the Stones

"Yeah right," Agrio taunts.

Olivia stops and turns, insulted. "My mother is NIKE. Goddess of Speed and Victory!" Her eyes got darker and more dangerous by the end of the phrase.

"Test me, Agrio. I'd love to see you try."

Agrio takes the hint and as DJ wakes up he bolts letting his legs lead him to the Stones of Olympus.

DJ doesn't say anything although that seems to be because of Olivia who's coldly staring down at him.

He backs away and doesn't make a sound.

Not too long after, Agrio can already see the large grey stones which cast an ominous shadow towards the middle of the circle, though the moonlight is coming from the east.

He picks up speed. Not 20 meters away from the closest boulder, he hears a growing KLIP-klop, KLIP-klop.

KLIP-klop

KLIP-klop

KLIP-klop

Agrio makes the mistake of glancing back. He startles as he sees a dark figure with a strip of white from her ears to her chin and muzzle. Her white mane moving up and down with every stride.

Within a few seconds they were neck and neck. A second later she passed him. By the time Agrio reached the circle, Olivia seemed bored.

"What- how?" Agrio huffed.

"Speed and victory. This was my ideal challenge, especially to put a cocky Kiger - Paint like you."

He tried to process everything she said. "How do you know I'm a crossbreed and how do you know that I'm specifically a Kiger - Paint?"

Olivia stares at each stone and stopped at a stone with a golden wreath at the top.

Nike.

"My mother told me everything about you that I needed to know," she finally says."She stands by Zeus in every battle." She went silent. Then Olivia approaches the boulder and lays down right in front.

"Hey, what else did she tell you?"

"Well, she said you are not a demigod - not like me anyway. Your parents, they were the children of two separate gods; though coincidentally, their parents despised each other."

"Hades and Demeter..." He guessed.

Olivia's eyes widened "Y-yes!"

"My mother had told me something of the sort, though I thought Hades and Demeter hated each other. Something about Persephone?"

"Yes, Hades had a crush on Persephone but, Demeter had taught Persephone to hate men and male gods. Knowing that, Hades went and asked Zeus for help. Zeus allowed him to kidnap Persephone and take her down to the Underworld."

Agrio stepped back nervously, "Woah that's messed up!"

"Again, yes. Hades took Persephone and she hated him at first but they eventually fell in love and married. Demeter went around the whole world searching for her daughter. Although, now the overworld had become cold and nearly lifeless so Demeter and Hades came up with a compromise. Persephone would stay in the Underworld with Hades for a third of the year and return to Demeter for the rest of it."

Agrio processed everything he was hearing. "So... Complicated. My mother tried reaching me this though I never thought much of it."

He stared at Demeter's stone. "Why is Demeter shown here but not hades.?"

"Either Hades tried to takes Zeus's place on Olympus or Zeus had a grudge. Honestly, I think it's the second one." Olivia snorted.

Agrio barely knew her but he was awestruck whenever he looked at her. She looked up from the corner of her striking green eye. "My mum was considered a minor goddess and is but a pebble compared to the rest. She has nothing but a large rock at Zeus's pedestal, it's a quarter of the boulders size." Her eyes lit up creepily, "Though she's one of the lucky ones. Victory NEVER loses."
