2 Mirror Image

I woke up to the ear piercing sound of my alarm going off. I always forget, or rather im too lazy to change the volume of it. I swear it could wake up the whole town.

I never turned the alarm off either. Instead I somehow managed to throw my phone across my room. I stared at it as the sound of it beeping ringed in my ears.

I still sat there in my bed still trying to process what was going on around me. I just woke up a few seconds ago, to me the sound of my alarm was like the tornado sirens. Well its what I thought it was at the current moment I wasnt even fully awake.

It kept beeping it wouldn't stop and thats when my sister, Olivia, burst threw my door still in her red and white night gown.

"TURN THE THING OFF WILL YOU!?"

"What? Where is-"

She threw my phone back at me. Of course her aim was still sharp as ever. It hit my bottom lip real hard. I felt my lip start becoming numb.

"Why did you do that!? Now im gonna have a bruise going to school today!"

"Well turn your alarm off next time!"

"GIRLS!"

Mom came up behind Olivia you could see the vain popping out of her forehead.

"Come on, it's only 6am."

"Sorry..."

Me and Olivia said in unison. I rolled my eyes and Olivia went back to her room. Mom headed to the kitchen, im asuming dad was making breakfast the scent of bacon and eggs filled my room.

I groaned getting out of bed. My legs were barely functional, they were still used to laying down in the weird position I sleep in. I looked in my mirror that hung on the wall.

My hair looked like a a tornado came by and tangled my headphones into my hair. Yes, I sleep with headphones on. I hate the sound of crickets chirping. And the sound of someone walking in the hallway freaks me out at night. I know its probably my mom getting up to get water or something but because its dark out I always over think it.

I threw off my black shorts and top and replaced it with black leggings and a loose hoodie. My whole outfit was black with hints of white and silver. The silver came from my hoodie zipper and my small hoop earrings. The white was the outer edge and shoelaces on my Converse sneakers.

I only fixed my hair enough to be able to untagle my headphones and put them back on. Who cares anyway? Im just gonna put my hood up all day. Sure I'll get scolded by a few teachers that are still not used to my hood being on my head, but thats fine I can take a scolding.

I met mom and dad at the kitchen. White plates with 4 strips of bacon and about a fourth of the plate had fresh, steaming, scrabled eggs.

"Lively as ever I see." Dad raised an eyebrow.

"Sure."

I sat down at my seat digging into the bacon first. Olivia finally came out of her room. Geez its just school how much time do you need to get ready.

She wore a tight maroom shirt with a white and maroon crop hoodie over it. The tight shirt and black leggings complimented her curves. On her wrist was a silver bracelet grandfather had given her. It was a chain bracket with a red heart on it. It was always on her wrist I never really see her take it off.

Olivia looked perfect. Well what I thought was perfect at least. I wore the same black hoodie the same black shoes everyday. I had like 15 pairs of black leggings but my outfit never changes.

Never bothered to put makeup on either. I tried when I was 13 I lost 12 eyelashes trying to take off mascara. And when I tried taking the eyeshadow off it just smeared everywhere. The only reason I wore makeup was because it was for my aunt's wedding.

Never again.

"What happened to your lip?" Dad asked.

"Olivia, thats what." I shot her a glare.

"Well its not my fault you won't turn off your alarm."

Dad chuckled and mom rolled her eyes. Olivia was older than me, 3 years older. She was a senior in high school.

The bus gets to out house at 6:45. It only comes that early because the bus driver is a total bitch about everything.

Put your feet in the isle, write up.

Talk loudly, write up.

Turn around in your seat, write up.

Sit next to the opposite gender, write up.

Apparently if he writes us up 3 time he kicks us off the bus. I dont know how he isn't fired.

"Alright girls you ready? The bus will be here soon."

"Yay..." I said sarcastically.

"Look I know you dont like the bus-"

"No one does." Olivia cut in.

"Yeah well, you know me and dad can't drive you to school. Believe me I wish we could but our job starts around the time your bus gets here."

"Whatever."

I went back to my room to get my computer, bag, and shoes.

"Bye."

"Hey wait for me."

I stopped at the door waiting for Olivia. Just put your shoes on its not that hard.

"Bye!" Olivia waved at mom and dad.

She shut the door behind us as I tried enjoying the silent bus ride to school. Me and Olivia were the first ones on our bus and the first ones off. It didnt bother me too much. The last few minutes and the first few minutes were always the best.

The silence was soon broken by my friend, Maya. She was a weeb. A total weeb. While she isn't that much into cosplay but she is a huge fangirl on anime. She would never cosplay in public unless she was at a convention or something.

"Did you see the new episode?"

"No. I didn't even touch the TV yesterday."

"What? Girl, come on watch it! Its a good episode this time."

I sighed, "okay fine, maybe tonight."

I was lying. I dont watch anime that often. And when she tells me to watch a show or something I just look up what happened. I prefered youtube over TV. She was exhausting. I do appreiciate her though.

She was one of the first friends I made at this school. I have three other friends each their own type of "weird".

Maya, the weeb.

Abby, the E-girl.

Samantha, the tomboy.

Vivian, she's like the mother of our group. Always keeps us in check.

And then theres me, I guess you can call me emo or go by what we all call each other, weird.

Only Maya rides my bus which can get annoying sometimes but at least im not sitting by some random kid.

All my friends have similar classes together. Specials and the end of the day is when we have different classes.

I stared out the window. I wanted today to end already.

Eventually that time came. The bus dropped me and Olivia off at out house around 5pm. It was already pretty dark out. Once I showered and ate dinner it would be 8pm by then.

"So who's showering first?"

"I am."

I straightened my posture attempting to look taller and intimidating. No way am I letting Olivia shower before me. She takes up all the hot water.

"Fine you go first. BUT you better turn your alarm off when it starts going crazy. Or at least turn the volume down."

"Whatever."

I speeded to the shower and observed myself in the mirror. My hair was messed up from my hoodie. I kept staring at the mirror, not exactly sure what I was staring at.

I sighed and headed into the shower. My toes flinched as they hit the cold shower floors.

I reached for the white towel without leaving the steamy bathtub and quickly dried myself off. I put the damp towel in my hair. To dry it off and glanced in the mirror.

I jumped back as my breathing picked up. I leaned against the wall trembling as to what I was seeing. It looked like its thin bony hands were reaching out to grab my neck threw the mirror. Its long fingers extending toward my eyes. Its thin shrivled up black hair draped over it's body.

Its eyes, at least I thought it had eyes. Replacing where its eyes would be was a large black void. Around it was coated in blood, like it was crying. It didnt have a mouth. It was just a bare space with its anerexic looking cheekbones.

At least I thought it was. Its slow moving arm extending toward me quickened. Its onced short brittle nails turned into long, sharp, claw like black shiny nails. Its whole body leaped out the mirror. Where its mouth should be opened into a black void which soon exposed rows of sharp yellow teeth.

Its long claw like nails scratched my eyes. I could no longer see. I didnt know what was going on but I felt something reach into my eye ball. I felt an excruciating pain from my left eye. I screamed in pain as the same feeling went to my right eye. I started feeling dizzy as I felt a warm liquid stream down my eye sockets. I touched where my eyes were.

Just there were no eyes. Just an empty socket. It felt like my hair was being pulled, like my nails were being shaved off, like my teeth were ready to jump out of their place, like my mouth was closing, like my throat and lungs were collapsing.

Until everything was blank.
