4 Chapter. 3. Reality.

At 7:00 a chimes were heard. The second day of classes began. Abi came down from her hiding place saying goodbye to her new friends, who explained some things to her about school. She just prayed that her friends had been as lucky as her. In the bedroom he found all the girls, although unlike the day before, they looked tired. He approached Marlía who was putting on a bow and Verónica who was combing her hair and hugged them ...

-Where were you? I was worried ... I didn't want to leave you alone, Marlía. But...

-Quiet ... I also ran away ...- Marlía reassured him, to be interrupted by Veronica.

-I hid in my ...- Marlía interrupted the short-haired one.

-Behind the bunny.

Her friends stared at her strangely ...

-A rabbit?

-You are crazy? He had an ax!

It turns out that Veronica was in hiding the whole time, so she didn't know what was really happening. Marlía recounted, while they had breakfast, her long night chasing the bunny to borrow the mask.

-He had an ax ...- Abigail insisted ...

- Well ... don't notice that. He always ran away from me. When I lost it I went to sleep in the room.

Verónica and Abi could only imagine the poor man who had to flee so that his mask would not be removed. Although they appreciated the personality of their friend, but possibly she would have been a victim of that rabbit with an ax.

Then Abi told them how a group of the second years had helped her escape.

-This ... will be repeated every night ...

-But ... What is happening as such? - Asked Marlía for Abi to answer:

-I don't know for sure. But from what they told me, the night is very dangerous here. The rooms, corridors, even the forest become slaughterhouses ...- The three friends were silent ...

-I don't know much ... but ...- Verónica spoke, pointing discreetly to one of the second-year tables. -There sat a girl ...

The other two nodded and Marlía added:

-The crying boy. The so Miguel. I haven't seen him today ....- The silence returned for a few minutes ...- Maybe he could get out of here! Maybe they transferred him to another school! - She said hopefully.

At that moment Jennifer arrived, one of her roommates. He sat next to them and said:

- As far as I know nobody leaves here, at least I am not alive or graduated.

"What do you mean?" Veronica asked.

-This school is special. Here we only enter, then: we, the waste of society.

"Waste?" Marlía asked, somewhat hurt by what they had called her.

-Anyway, every night will be survival. I come to ask you to make an alliance ...

-Alliance? And why us? - Asked Abigail, to be supported by Veronica.

-It's the first time you've talked to us.

-If we make groups it will be easier to survive. The twins have each other. Anne, you can't trust me, and Laura is conceited.

Although Jennifer was right, she did not give confidence to the three friends so Verónica asked her:

-Give us time to think.

-It's okay. But remember that last night will be repeated today, tomorrow and until we graduate, if we succeed.

Jennifer left and the bell for school started. The three of them, along with the rest, got up to hear Marlia exclaim:

-I'm not a waste !!!

A normal day of classes. In the afternoon they had a Crafts shift. Many saw the glory, because they could make whatever they wanted, in this case weapons to survive.

"How about we make a rope?" Marlia asked. Her friends, knowing how depressed she was since they told her wasted, said that suicide was not a way out. She denied and said ...

-Abi told us about that hiding place ... because we're not going there. It will be easier with a rope.

-No ...- Abi said. -They told me I couldn't go back there. They helped me because it was the first day. They also gave me a lot of information for free. According to them, everything here has a price.

Silence absolved them again ...

-A rope is not a bad idea ...- Marlia and Abi looked at their friend ...- We can use it to enter this site. Apparently everything is more concentrated in the rooms. Then you have to get out of there. The weather is not safe, so it is best to enter this building.

That day the three friends braided a long rope of around 20 meters. They believed it enough to get to the second floor. At 5:00 pm there were no longer any teachers there. The students followed the routine of eating, bathing, and doing homework. Curiously at 8:00 at night many were already sleeping.

"Come on, it's now or never." Veronica whispered when she saw that Anne had fallen asleep.

Abigail and Marlía finished putting pillows on their beds simulating their sleeping bodies and they came out after their friend with a small backpack. The lights were still on and there were murmurs in other rooms. With silent steps they descended the stairs to the dining room. They went out into the open looking everywhere. They had to be careful that no one saw them. They reached the main building, and as they waited the front door was closed.

"Come on over there ..." Abigail whispered, pointing to a beam that jutted out on the third floor.

- You have to throw the rope there. Who has it? - Asked Veronica. Marlia ran to the backpack Abi was carrying and started looking.

-Come on Marlia! We have a few hours but it is not convenient for us to be here ... - Abi urged him. Verónica grew impatient and finally remembered:

-Didn't you hide the rope ?!

"Right !!" Marlía exclaimed when she remembered the hiding place.

Marlia stopped what she was doing and ran towards one of the nearby trees. This had a hole and luckily no one realized what he had hidden inside.

-Here it is.

Marlia returned with the rope and began to throw a spear. Luckily it didn't take long to lift the rope.

-How good!

-Marlia can you do something else that well? - Asked Veronica and then Abigail added:

-In addition to asking. Sure.- Marlía smiled. I think about it for a few minutes. He shrugged and shook his head.

The three friends climbed the rope to the second floor. They opened the first window they came across and went inside. Veronica picked up the rope and tied it to the window, leaving it half closed.

-This is a classroom. Right? -Comment Abigail. -I think we should hide somewhere else. That is, we do not know if someone thought like us.

The three of them left the classroom and walked across the entire second floor. They finally went downstairs and decided to hide on the first floor.

-School is as terrifying at night as during the day. - Marlía commented as they entered and closed the library door.

-You're right. But actually this school is scarier at night. You don't know what can happen.

The three friends slept that night in the library. Very early in the morning they gathered all their things and before the first bell rang they decided to return to their rooms.

-Hurry up Marlía.

-Just come down.

Her friends rushed her because she had been distracted. They rushed her so much that Marlía didn't see the rope and threw herself out the window.

"For the rope !!" They both yelled at him at the same time.

Luckily it had fallen on the tree near the building and had cushioned the fall.

"Why are you rushing me?" Marlía asked, getting up as best she could.

Abigail began to untie the rope to store it. While Verónica helped Marlía. The three returned to their shelter. This was empty. They did not care. At any moment the bell would ring and the school day would begin. That night they survived with excellence, because they are alive and could sleep. Contrary to other shelter companions who spent the whole night watching or fighting.

The library became his refuge for the first weeks of the course. During that time they discovered from the classroom windows that the garden, the forest and the bedrooms became veritable slaughterhouses. They not only had to worry about studying during the day, but also about surviving at night. Inside that school were the waste of society. There they would reform or be destroyed.
