8 New Secret Ability?

Exiting the Adventurers Guild, Mikael went over the Quest Slip Noëlle had given him.

[Subjugation Quest: Forest Troll

Locate and exterminate the Forest Troll roaming the woods outside Silvern Town.

Description: Massive body covered in thick black fur, long reaching arms, long claws, and easily enraged.

Rewards: 1 Silver Coin and 50 Copper coins]

Taking a look at the drawing of the Forest Troll depicted in the slip, Mikael couldn't help but link it to animals from his past life.

" Doesn't this Troll thing resemble a bear? I mean sure it has two small beady black eyes, long sloth arms, the body of a damn gorilla, but it's face kinda resembles a Bears. I wonder if other monsters are just amalgamations of Earth's animals. Like maybe having the head of a wolf but the body of a lion or..."

Being entranced by the Trolls unique appearance, Mikael failed to notice that he'd reached the town's outskirts. Only realizing it when he bumped into a tree.

" Ouch! Huh, who put a tree in the middle of the damn road? Oh, I'm outside already, that was fast! Guess I should find an isolated area to summon Chucky before heading deeper into the woods."

Taking the time to make sure no one was around, Mikael quickly ran towards into the forest. Once inside he again looked around just in case before Summoning his Grimoire.

" Summon: Grimoire! I'm not done yet, Summon: Chucky!"

In one swift action, Mikael summoned both his Grimoire and his companion for today. Who wasn't all that happy when he laid eyes upon Mikael for the second time today.

" You! I don't know what you did to me but I'm going to fucking ki-"

" Chucky, stop."

With those two words the Doll's eyes glazed over and blankly stood there awaiting his next command.

" That's a bit more like it, if you weren't such a bloodthirsty psychopath I wouldn't have to treat you like this. Well c'mon, follow me, it's Troll hunting time!"

Two things vital to being a good adventure were, having a good sense of direction and some type of tracking skills. Two things which Mikael severely lacked, made obvious by him getting lost in minutes of entering the woods.

" Didn't I just walk past that same tree like ten minutes ago? Oh who am I kidding I'm lost! Where the hell is that Troll at? Aren't monsters supposed to patrol their territory? Of he did that I'd of killed him and been on my way."

Becoming increasingly frustrated due to not finding any clues pertaining to the Troll. Mikael started to think that maybe the sexy bad-mouthed receptionist tricked him. Not everything was bad as he saw all kinds of magical animals, such as Horned Rabbits Rainbow Feathered Birds and Violet Deers.

" If I don't find that fucking mutated bear thing, I might just have to eat one of these rabbits..."

The sound of a twig breaking cut off Mikael's train of thought as he looked at the direction of the snapping twig.

* Fuck, did the Troll hear me?*

As the surrounding bushes shook, Mikael slowly stepped back leaving Chucky to stand point.

* C'mon out you nasty son of a bitch!*

While Mikael was rearing to go, he was sorely disappointed when a twin tailed squirrel ran out of the bushes. Seeing the little and totally unthreatening rodent, Mikael let out a sigh of relief.

" Fuck that scared the shit out of m-"

Unfortunately for him that sigh was quickly drowned out by a monstrous roar. Which just so happened to be coming straight from behind him.

" Shit... "

Reacting as fast as he could, Mikael rolled to his left side while having Chucky retreat.

" Chucky, get back!"

Albeit panicked, Mikael wasn't about to drop his guard and get himself killed on his first day. Whatever made that thunderous roar wasn't small by the size of it's claw. Which struck downwards smashing the ground surrounding the area.

" I'm going to go on a limb here and say that's a Troll claw."

Looking straight at the rustling shrubbery Mikael got a good look at what was attacking him. A Forest Troll, exactly like the description on the Quest Slip, the body of a Gorilla, the arms of a Sloth and the head of a Bear.

" You almost fucking killed me asshole! But at least I don't have to go searching for you anymore! Chucky, kill this nasty looking abomination! Empowerment: Chucky!"

With Mikael casting Empowerment, Chucky quickly rushed towards the Troll. Due to the enormous difference between their sizes the Troll had trouble catching the charging Doll. It repeatedly swiped the ground with it's long arms to stop it but was too slow to actually connect.

Dodging the beast's attacks Chucky got behind it and with two swift slashes cut both of it's Achilles Tendons. Causing a painful and deafening cry to escape the Troll's mouth.

With it's high level of tolerance for pain the Troll was able to remain standing but that's when Chucky hopped on it's back.

Now sensing the danger the Doll posed to it, the Troll desperately tried to knock it off.

Alas it proved too late as Chucky tightly held on and repeatedly stabbed the monster's back. Now fearing for it's life, the Troll tried to flee but Chucky didn't allow that to happen. As it climbed up it's back and reaching the back of it's neck sliced it's throat. The Troll stumbled around for a bit until it came crashing down to the ground, dead.

For the next seconds following the Troll's demise Mikael was was in a bit if a shocked state.He couldn't believe what he'd just witnessed. A small kids doll had just killed a massive and deadly monster by itself.

" That was.. awesome! Oh my God I was so fucking scared that thing was actually going to kill me! Whoo! Well sucks to be you-"

" If it isn't the piece of dog crap who makes me do all his fucking work! C' mere let me show you my thanks for that!"

Hearing Chucky's threatening shouts, proved Mikael's theory true. After completing it's order the Doll reverts back to being his good ol psychopathic self.

" Hey now, why don't we talk things out? Just take a look at that, you killed that huge monster all by yourself. And you can kill as many of those as you want. Doesn't that sound so much more exciting, than killing humans? They fight back, are stronger, faster and much harder to kill.. I mean, unless you really like your whole chasing after little kids thing. "

Mikael was surprised when that last line left his lips, for he hadn't thought of saying that, out loud. The line sent Chucky into a furious rage as he lunged at Mikael with his knife.

" You fucker! I'm going to kill you!"

Luckily for him, Mikael was quick on his feet and gave another order. Halting the fuming Doll's rage and making it return to it's docile state again.

" Chucky, decapitate the Troll!"

Just as he thought Chucky stopped his attack towards Mikael, instead heading to the Trolls corpse. Taking out it's knife it proceeded to start hacking away at the Troll's neck.

After a few minutes had gone by the Doll finally managed to decapitate the Troll. Raising it's bloody head over it's small body drenching itself in it's blood, making for a very unique visual.

" And just like that I've completed my first Quest! In no time I'll be a renowned and wealthy adventurer! Maybe I'll even get that Noëlle to be nicer t-- Uh? Why is everything spinning? Oh right! Banish: Chucky!"

Realizing that his Mana was being sucked dry for maintaining Chucky, Mikael banished the bloody Doll.

" Hmm? What's this about.. why is my Mark glowing?"

Freaked out by the Mark's sudden change Mikael stumbled back, causing the Mark to dim.

" Huh? Why'd it go like that?"

Having a gut feeling, he took a step forward which made the Mark glow bright again.

" Is this thing playing hot or cold with me? If it is what's it pointing me towards? Let's find out shall we?!"

Thinking he discovered a secret pertaining to his mysterious Mark. Mikael started to walk around seeking for the hot spots around him. It didn't long for him to realize the closer he got to the Trolls corpse the brighter the Mark shined.

" Its reacting to the Troll?! I'm not sure if this is good or bad, but the Crimson Light's been good to me so far."

Getting closer to the decapitated Troll, Mikael watched as a red mist flew out of it's corpse and into his Mark. What occurred next was a wave of rejuvenation flowing throughout his entire body. That seemed to completely eradicate the lightheadedness he suffered from Mana depletion.

" T-This.. this is impossible! I haven't drank any Mana Potions or had a long rest, how did my Mana recuperate so fast?! Could this be another one of the Marks Abilities?! This happened right after it absorbed a red mist from the Troll's corpse.-- If what I'm thinking is correct this might be the most important ability I possess! With this I can easily reach my goals and beyond! Hahahahaha!!!"
