9 Start of the Preliminaries

A couple of weeks have passed since the first game against Shiratorizawa and other less known Team's throughout these weeks. Shin and Everyone apart of the Teiko team heard about the National tournament for the Middle School being set up in a few days time, Shin couldn't wait to play against the Uncrowned king's and compare his skills to them, this mentality of Shin grew on Kise after the time of him and Shin growing closer almost like brother's since Kise was the youngest of his family with his 2 sister's being older than him. Everyone else except Shin and Kise, didn't care that much because to them ever since playing against the other team's in Japan last year they knew things would repeat with them winning the Championship again even if Shin or Kise wasn't here.

So when The time came for the Start of the Preliminaries every team was buzzing and the basketball atmosphere was even greater than last year with the on-watchers blazing of expectation. Every team knew Teiko was very good with the amount of talent on their team, so they stepped with cautious when they would play against them but all of team's believed they had a chance with how much their team had improved.

The Schedule for the Preliminaries were:

Day 1: Block A, Round 1 and Round 2 (Winner team's for Round 1 go to Round 2 and last 4 winner team of Round 2 got to Semi Finals)

Day 2: Block B, Round 1 and Round 2 (Winner's of Round 1 head to Round 2 and last 4 team arrive at the Semi Finals)

Day 3: Block B, Semi Finals Match (Winner of both match's go to Block Final)

Day 4: Block A, Semi Finals Match (Winner of both match's got to Block final)

Day 5: Final Match's (For Both Blocks)

The First Round for Teiko was against Seido Middle School in Block A (Yes it's from Ace of Diamonds but there wont be no player's from there sorry) they were a average team that were more defensively better than Offensively but it was nothing that Shin and Teiko couldn't handle with the amount of depth they had in each position. Though to be more cautious and see how much they have improved, Kozo said 'Even though you have the skills to win, you can be blinded by arrogant's and lose somehow.' So to be careful, Shin and Everyone prepared by seeing the video tapes of the match's against other teams that Seido played.

Reviewing All the tapes over and over again with the Coach, the only thing that Teiko should at least be careful when playing against Seido were their good judgement of intercepting passing lanes causing the opponents team into a lot of turnover's making point's. Kozo devised a plan to stop this, this plan was just how they stopped Shiratorizawa and that was Shin was to defend the Point Guard by shutting him down and with Shin's ability to intercept passing or strip it from his hands, unlike last time Shin was to do this all game. The reason he was using this plan again is, how can they intercept the ball on defence when they wont even be there when we attack on offence.

(Day 1 of Preliminaries)

Heading to the Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium, where the past and present Middle schools and High school Student play, All of Teiko player's were talking among them self's in the Coach.

Kise: "Hey Shin-cchi! Do you think there are other people like us playing against us!"

Looking at the excited and jumping Kise, Shin smacked the back of his head with a serious face and getting a pout from Kise.

Shin: "Well you never know, but there should be some players out there that could be almost as good as us or maybe better. Your just gotta have to wait until than."

Sagely replying to Kise, who carried pestering Shin along the way towards the Japan Metropolitan Gymnasium with all different kind of question's which his Team mates looked at Shin with sympathy. Finally shutting up Kise, Teiko arrived at The Gymnasium which was surrounded with Other Coach's from different Teams and people trying to enter it.

Kozo: "Okay guys, get all of your things, head to the Gymnasium and meet me at Locker rooms in Section A before the Start of the Game. No one Be late!"

Getting nods from the Team including Shin. Packing up his equipment and Stuff, Shin and the Rest of the Squad pulled up on the Gymnasium, wearing their blue and white Track suit with Teiko proudly displayed on their back. Walking into the hall way, every single one in there looked at Teiko with either a expression of awe and fear from the shear height of Shin and Atsuchi, they instantly gained attention.

Random Player: "Hey look captain! Did Teiko always have this many tall people?"

Random Captain: "Not really, I guess they fount new player's especially the 2 pretty boy's. Though the tall gives you the same vibe as his team mates, The Generation of Miracles, I just hope he isn't the same."

Random Player 2: "So this is the Generation of Miracles. I feel like i could be beat them, they are no swe-"

Random Player 3: "Are you mad! They could rip you into 2, don't underestimate them!"

Random Player 4: "Who is that pink girl next to them? She look's sooo Hot~"

Over hearing This, Shin just laughed which in the end got everyone's attention and placed a smug smile on his face to enrage all of the other player's. Momoi looked at Shin if he was okay, so Shin gave her a smile to reassure her that he didn't lose his mind and in process not evening meaning to made her blush. Looking at the pretty Tall boy making the hot girl blush, most of the guys in the hall looked at Shin with hate.

Shin: "What is wrong, haven't seen someone so good looking? Ahhh! Couldn't blame you, It's Very entertaining getting girls so easily in love with me especially Girl's who have boyfriends."

This just basically riled up most of the men in the hall to absolute destroy Shin. Seeing his team look at him like he was a idiot, mostly Shintaro who didn't like how Shin gained everyone's attention and making a scene. Shin walked away and before leaving with his team who was already almost gone said in cocky tone.

Shin: "If you wanna destroy me than do the talking on the court but from what i'm seeing. I really shouldn't be scared at all by the level of skill in here, so i'll see you when i win the Tournament with the guys."

Exiting the hall and into the Locker room, Shin walked to the corner locker with only Aomine and Atsuchi either side of him.

Aomine: "So Shin-kun, why did you put all the attention on yourself by basically saying you can easily bang there girlfriends?"

Shin: "Well i wanna challenge and the best way to get someone to put all their effort into winning and make it harder is to disrespect someone they love. Except their family because i'm not that much of an arsehole you know."

Slapping Aomine back and making Aomine more excited causing him to have his Normal weird smile. Shin and Aomine laughed evilly which everyone except Momoi who looked worried for her 2 best friends weirdly, Composing them self, Shin Putted on his Jersey, Shorts, knee pads and neon blue Arm sleeve and tightened his Nike Shoes to make sure they don't get loose. Sitting down and adjusting his Sleeve with his fellow team mates and friends sitting around near the locker benches.

Atsuchi: "Why should we play when it's boring theirs no one that is stronger than us. Playing is basically no worth it."

Aomine: "I agree with Atsuchi for once, We all know were gonna win with a massive margin so what's worth. Basketball is only entertaining when you play against someone as strong as yourself!"

Shin: "Let's just go out there and win. The faster we destroy them and shit all over there moral, the more entertaining it is to see how depressed they are when they have no hope to win."

Conversing with Aomine and Atsuchi about the game, The door to the locker opened up and closed, with Kozo appearing in front of everyone and Momoi next to him. Gazing upon his pupils, Kozo could tell most of his players didn't care about the game because to be fairly honest the other team didn't stand a chance to them. That worried Kozo he knew there was too much talent on the team which made other teams basically worthless, this would most likely cause the team to separate and go to different places.

Kozo: "I know you may feel like this game is not worth your time but if you finish this game, you will become 1 step more closer to the Championship and play what some of you want professional. So Stick to the Plan, Crush Seido and you will be on that path to your dream. So are you ready!"

Everyone: "Hai!"
