Wails and Cries

"That monster finally stopped moving."

March felt her legs turn weak when she watched the Doomsday Beast lie lifelessly on the damaged metal platform of Herta's space station.

Letting out a deep sigh, she sat down and used her arms to support herself while she caught her breath from the tiring battle they had just been through.

"The nucleus of the Doomsday Beast had been destroyed so it's bound to stop moving if it didn't do so now."

"I guess it would. You can see that nasty liquid dripping down its face."

March shivered when she saw the faintly glowing liquid and made a disgusted face and turned away.

Dan Heng stared at the liquid and noticed that some of it remained on his spear so he quickly swiped his spear against the floor and a streak of purple flew, cleaning his weapon.

"Where are Yuuto and Stelle?"

"Weren't they right beside us just a few seconds ago?"

"The last time I saw them was when Yuuto called out to me and he went somewhere after…"

Dan Heng looked around his surroundings a bit more until he saw a glimpse of two heads. One that was ash gray in color and another that was a deep shade of purple.

The two were standing right on top of the Doomsday Beast's arm while staring at its large torso.

"They sure move fast…"

"I'll go with them just in case they do something to the body."

"W-Wait for me! I don't want to be the only one that's left behind!"

March raised her wobbly legs and ran towards Dan Heng who was already quite far away from where she was.

"Should we take this?"

"No. That is just a metal shard from the platform."

"Really I was sure that it was from this thing's body."

Stelle held the shard and closed one of her eyes to compare the colors from the two different objects.

Yuuto continued to scan the body in hopes that he could lock onto some memory fragments he could take from this boss.

'Come on, there should be some juicy rewards after defeating a boss right?'

His eyes gave out a white hue and while his hands repeatedly touched the body, he felt a small connection the body had towards a certain point.

He walked towards the front where a dim black orb encased in a cube structure that had slivers of open parts leading into it.

"This is the antimatter engine isn't it…"

Yuuto saw the scratches and leftover debris of pink crystals that showed just who attacked this part of the boss.

The connection he felt beforehand grew stronger as a bright white color was now prominent and Yuuto waved his hand as he felt what he was looking for moving inside the antimatter engine.

A series of fragments came flying out and Yuuto's eyes watched the display of different colors some of the fragments had.

"This one is the [Barrage] attack isn't it?"

Yuuto's lips grew wide as one of the first memories he received was a pathway in creating a [Barrage] the Doomsday Beast did that he had to do his best to defend against.

"Holy shit, the amount of energy I need is going to suck me dry before I launch this thing for even a few seconds."

However, his eyebrows twitched seeing the requirements and felt like it was a pretty absurd amount.

"Well something like this never stopped me. Using some parts as a base I can make something usable out of this thing before using [Barrage] to it's full extent."

Despite looking at his current state, his eyes grew brighter as he thought about the moment where he could just fire a bunch of beams at his opponents.

Humming in a happy mood, Yuuto continued to look at his selections of memories that floated in front of him.

The rest were not as exciting as he would have expected as basic abilities such as [Swipe] or [Punch] were just movements used by the beast's large hands.

[Flight] was also one but compared to the one he got from the Wingweaver on Solarian this one contained memories on how to use two pairs of wings to fly compared to one.

Seeing that he had another similar type of memory, Yuuto thought that he should really start to find a way that he could use this to his advantage.

'Well enough of that, time to see what type of SSR this memory is.'

Floating on top of his palm was a large fragment and on its smooth surface was the engraved image of an orb under some sort of fire.

The Doomsday Beast's [Core Memory] looked intimidating but he didn't mind too much since his curiosity was more prominent than him being intimidated.

Yuuto touched the surface of the [Core Memory] but a sudden beat pulsed near the left side of his chest before his surroundings warped around him.

'What was that..'

Yuuto touched the spot where he felt the pulsation but he was unable to find anything out of place.

But the more he looked, the thought of one thing that may have caused it came to his mind.

'Was it the Stelleron inside of me? It might be tha—'

[MOVE! MOVE BEFORE I THROW YOU INTO THE FORGE MYSELF!!]

[Y-YES SIR!]

Yuuto's thoughts stopped when he heard a loud scream that boomed through his entire body.

He stood in a corner where he watched a large group of people rushing to carry boxes of unknown materials while a larger person yelled angrily at them.

What was even more odd was despite the larger person's humanoid frame, his body emitted powerful sparks or crimson red flames underneath his dark brown apron.

[This should be enough. Everyone leave.]

The person's deep voice echoed and the people carrying the boxes ran out and the place had only him within it.

'This place is a forgery from the looks of it. But is this really the [Core Memory] of the Doomsday Beast?'

Yuuto looked around and saw the lines of metal tools and the large kiln with a fierce forge right beside it.

[How lucky. The Lord Ravagers wished for more beasts capable of destruction that they even gave me the body of a Dusk Leviathan.]

The person began to give out a slow chuckle as he swept his hand over the large blue carcass of a long snake-like creature.

[How exciting.]

Yuuto watched the person raise his hand and one of the walls began to separate and inside was a cave with a bed of molten lava bubbling within.

The person walked inside and his body emitted a deep crimson aura that raised the temperature of his surroundings.

The body of the Dusk Leviathan floated into the body of lava and eerie screams began to erupt from within the bed of lava.

[As expected of a Dusk Leviathan's spirit! But too bad no one will be able to hear your cries when it will be drowned by the other ones that I brought along.]

The boxes that were carried in began to float and the bones carried inside them also fell into the bed of lava alongside the corpse.

What accompanied the Dusk Leviathan's cries was the wails and shrieks of various creatures that made Yuuto feel uncomfortable being in the same space as them.

The bed of lava bubbled fiercely and amidst the mourning wails and angry screams, an object floated outwards that had a hue of gold.

The object was an orb and within it was a black energy that contained specks of white as if it contained the vast space within it.

'The orb of the antimatter engine.'

He recognized it as it was the last object he had seen before immersing himself into the [Core Memory].

[This incomparable power of destruction…]

The person let out a quiet mumble that was barely audible and what came after was a mad laugh that made the lava bubble more furiously.

[I just love the feeling this one gives off!]

The person touched the orb briefly before he moved onwards to create a familiar looking frame to house the orb.

'I see. The birth of the Doomsday Beast is its [Core Memory]. But the way it was created was not how I expected it to be…'

Yuuto listened to the wails of the countless spirits that were drowned inside the lava and noted how it's sounds began to become more unified as if the spirits were mending together.

[KROOOOM]

[This one sure is a fierce one.]

The person looked at the carcass of the Dusk Leviathan and seeing its resistance, he reached for a dark black hammer hanging right beside him.

The hammer shook as he lifted it above his head and was slammed downwards, hitting the carcass with a large thud.

[KRo–Oom-mm]

[Took you long enough. You have been making too much noise for a while now.]

He spoke out some impassive words before he began to work more diligently in unifying the different parts that appeared in front of him.

'I guess the memory is about to finish soon.'

Seeing the frame of the Doomsday Beast taking its shape, Yuuto calmly looked at the leviathan's body taking it's new form with some unknown thoughts going through his head.

[How…Particular..]

'!!!!!'

However as he waited, he felt a thundering voice appear in his surroundings and massive warning signs began to flash throughout his whole body.
