29 Seedling

Lyra flew the shuttle into unknown areas. landing in the middle of the forest. Mika was intrigued by this whole situation. Lyra led her towards a large cave entrance. Peering into the mouth of the cave, Mike felt small flutters spring in her gut.

Peeking over at her mother, jubilant mixed with sorrow filled Lyra's eyes.

"Mom, what is this place?"

"Remember what I said Mika, just follow me."

"Mmm..."

Mika walked behind her mother. Every step Lyra took, Mika placed her feet in the exact same spot. Having traveled for hour silently, when Lyra finally spoke it made Mika tripped over her feet in surprise.

"Mika... There are some things I'm about to tell you that will shock you. All you need to remember is I'm right beside you. You are not alone."

Never once did Lyra break her pace, causing Mika to hurry along after hearing her mother's words.

Mika caught up as she entered a massive cave chamber. The underground chamber spans, at least, 500 meters wide. Up high, the ceiling of the underground chamber had a peephole letting in natural light. Highlighting a giant tree in the middle of the space.

"Mika come over here." Lyra stood under the giant tree, gazing at everything from it's leaves to its trunk with admiration.

Mika stepped underneath the giant tree in awe of its presence. As the only tree within the space, it's appearance was even more regal. Standing under it Mika felt sheltered and gracious towards this tree. This feeling reminded Mika of what one should feel towards royalty.

"Mmm....you feel this too?" Lyra said after watching Mika facial expressions.

"Yes, why do I feel this way?"

Motioning Mika to sit down on one of the crumbled stones littering around the chamber.

"Mika....this tree is the first ever honey tree." Lyra let that sink into Mika's head for a moment.

"Our ancestors were banished here, by the heavenly father for their mischievous ways. He could no longer tolerate his children's children. He told his children to gather all of their bastard children, banishing them to this dimension, to this world, to this planet." Lyra sighs as she told the story of the Fae ancestry; because of a few, all got punished.

"When the first Fae were bought to this world, they sought to escape back to the heavenly realm. They didn't expect for the once formidable gifts they took for granted, to be not even half of what they once were....." Lyra looked down at her own hands "We were once children of gods, druids, but now we are the Fae."

Lady Lyra picked up her head, seeing Mika also looking at her hands.

"When our ancestors realize they could no longer be who they once were. They gave up, stuck on a barren wasteland, they had no way of surviving....."

When Mika heard her mother's voice stop, she looked to see Lyra staring at the giant tree behind her.

"Do you know who Analise was? " Mika nodded her head in acknowledgment.

"She was the 'Mother Fae', right?" Mika answered her mother in hesitation. Everything that she thought was correct from their historical texts, seem not to hold the whole truth.

"Mmmm...she was... Analise was the favorite daughter of, the favorite daughter of the heavenly father. Seeing her daughter being punished for other's crimes. Analise's mother gave her a cloth full of seeds. These seeds Analise bought with her when she was banished. Analise at first couldn't understand why her mother would give her these seeds. Out of all the things she could've given her but once she saw the barren lands she was to live the rest of her life on, Analise understood."

Lyra took a breather, pull out a canteen of water and drank a mouth full. Passing the canteen, Mika did the same.

"Analise choose this site to plant her first seed. Everyone thought she was fooling herself. They ridiculed her for not facing her reality. The rest of the Fae knowledged that they were meant to die here, but not Analise. She watered the seed with what little water she could find. Not even drinking her share on some occasions. This went on for months, but still, nothing sprouted. Almost about to give up like the rest. An idea formed in Analise' mind. One night as she watered the seed, Analise slit her wrist and added her blood into the water. She poured the blood-water mixture onto the little seedling..... Can you tell what happens next?"

Lyra's amused smirk drew Mika to the tree behind her. Turning around Mika glaze at the regal tree again.

"Analise's tree sheltered her that night. It grew within one night and one day. When Analise found the key to making the seeds grow, she went about planting hundreds of seedling all over the lands of this planet. The once barren lands flourished with the first batch of honey trees..."
