22 Option One Please

Coasting along the wormhole, Lila got bored pretty faster.

She wanted to find an exit, or the end quicker, but unfortunately no matter how many different ways she tried to get out there seemed to be a barrier keeping her in.

Exhausting all her options Lila gave up, there was nothing waiting for her anyways.

"That's it you done...?" A female's voice popped up out of nowhere, startling Lila.

Swerving around looking for the owner of the voice, but seeing no one, Lila thought she imagined it.

"Nope, I'm not in your head."

"Is someone there?"

"Yes."

"Where are you?"

"I'm here."

"Here, where?" Lila looked sideways, up and down still not finding anyone.

"Just like you, my body is the same." Thinking she might not be the only dead person here, excitement course through Lila.

"Oh! No, no, no...We are not the same. I am a being, I have always been and will always be."

Being? Always been? Always be? What did this mean? Lila though on this for a while before coming to the conclusion that she was talking to a "Being" of a higher power.

"Are you god?" Lila posed the question with hesitation.

"Some have called me as such."

"Then...are you here to collect me?"

"Hmm...that could be possible."

"Possible? What does that mean? Aren't you going to take me to heaven, or something?" Lila was getting quite irked by this Being.

"Nah! You don't want to go there, it's boring as f**k there!" Hearing the Being dissuaded heaven made Lila rethink her initial assumptions about this voice.

"....okaaaay. So where am I going?"

"Well, you haven't made a choice yet." Lila looked around at her so-called choices.

"How can I make a choice on where I want to go when I'm stuck in this wormhole?"

"Hey, hey, hey now, I don't know what a wormhole is, but don't go calling my doorway any names!"

"Doorway...?"

"Yes, this is a doorway that I opened for you."

"Wait, you opened this wormho- umm doorway?" Lila quickly changed the wording, to avoid angering this Being.

"Yes. I heard your yells. Since you have crossed my path, I considered this fate and decided to help you. Aren't I nice?"

Were her screams that loud for a Being to hear them from god know where?

She had thought this wormhole doorway, whatever was an unexplained phenomenon, comes to find out a Being was just feeling sorry for her.

Did she look like an abandoned puppy?

"...Thank you. Umm, how come you didn't show yourself earlier? I ran myself crazy, trying to find a way out of here..."

"Yeah, I know. It was quite entertaining..."

"...." Yup, I'm definitely rethinking my earlier assumptions about this Being.

"What!?... I get bored, sometimes..."

"I'm glad I could entertain you." If this was the god everyone has always been worshipping to, they have been going about it the wrong way.

"So, what is your choice?"

"Choice? How can I make a choice, if I don't know what my choices are? All I see is this doorway..."

"Well, Duh! Until you choose the next door can't open."

Did a Being/God just "Duh" me?

"Here are your choices. One rebirth or two...two...you umm...how about you travel with me? Yeah, yeah...you seem like a fun person. I could use a companion right now."

Okay, this Being definitely sees her as a puppy.

"It doesn't seem like choice number two was well thought out."

"...."

Lila laughed to herself as she thought about her choices. She could tell the Being wanted her to choose choice number one, but she was reluctant. Her previous life didn't fare so well. What if she ends up in the same predicament?

Listening to the thoughts running through the child's mind, the Being truly felt remorse. She has given the chance of rebirth to many, but only a few have ever hesitated on the choice. Those who did, have always stayed in her heart because those are the ones who knew of the hardships of life.

"child that is life. Do not be afraid of trying again. Your fate in your past life was destined to end early, but fate also bought you to me. You won't know what fate has in store for you, so why fear the unknown? Second chances don't come too often..."

"Will I be reborn back into my old life? Is this possible?" Lila thought about all those who took part in her death.

"No. Not possible. A life left behind is a life gone. There is no returning." The Being knew what she was thinking.

"Start anew, Let the past be the past, and let the future be the future..." Shamed bloomed within Lila. She knew the Being had seen her thoughts. Could she really let go of her hate and anger?

Just as she was thinking about this, a memory of her foster mother played in her mind.

When Lila was younger and sick, depression and anger had been her constant companions.

One day, Ms. Joy walked into her room, seeing the destruction of all of Lila's personal items on the floor made Ms. Joy sad.

Coming to Lila's bedside, Ms. Joy scooped Lila into her arms.

"Lila, if you let these negative emotions consume you, they will eat you from the inside out. You will never get to see the beauty that you are, and all that's around you." Ms. Joy spoke as Lila turned her head to look outside the window at all the children playing and going to school.

Lila hadn't understood Ms. Joy then, but later on when she made friends with Kara and was able to go to school like everyone else, did she realize what Ms. Joy meant.

Lila didn't know if the Being made that memory pop up or she thought of it on her own, but either way, she was thankful either way.

"Okay, I'll go...but where will I be reborn to?"

"Oh! Honey, I have no idea, but good luck!"

"Wait! Wha-" Lila was pushed towards a bright light at the end of the tunnel.
