72 Letting Go of Lila

In another residence, Mika still laid inside the healing tube as recurring nightmares tormented her for the past week.

First, she dreamt herself locked in the sleeper cell until she starved to death, then she died from suffocation, then the lid open and she was frozen to death in space. On a constant loop Mika dead in that cell over and over in different ways.

She couldn't break herself from the fears.

Taking turns, Saavi and Kaze stayed by Mika's side all the time.

In the morning, Saavi would watch Mika as Kaze took care of the food and security, in the evenings Kaze would watch Mika as Saavi did her chores. At night they both moved their beds into Mika's bedroom.

"This can't go on, we have to help her. If she continues on like this, she'll never wake up!" Kaze was watching as Mika's face squinch up.

"We can't. Young miss has to overcome this herself."

"Its been a week already..."

"We must believe in Young miss, she is stronger than you think..."

Kaze looked at Saavi, over the past few days her face has become dreary, and a gloomy air has surrounded her body. Kaze wasn't complaining just about Mika's situation, he was also complaining about Saavi's.

"Fine, let's get some sleep who knows she might wake up in the morning." Turning off the lights, Saavi and Kaze retired for the night.

This night Mika once again was trapped inside her sleeper cell.

Mika closed her eyes hoping her death would be quick and painless when a person popped into her mind.

Lady Lyra's face was smiling as she waved for Mika to come to her. Mika felt a deep aching in her chest, how could she go to her when she is trapped. Her body was in sludge that kept her in place as Lady Lyra's figure got farther and farther away from her.

"No! Don't go! Take me with you..."

Struggling harder, Mika was able to get one arm free. Confidence bloomed within her, striving to break free the rest of her body Mika twist and tugged her body back and forth.

Always half asleep Kaze instantly awoke to sounds of knocking. Stealthy releasing his gifts, Kaze tested for any abnormal presence in the room.

Sensing nothing but him and Saavi Kaze got slowly sat up. Still wary, he searches for the source of the noise.

Mika now had more than fifty percent of her body free. If she could just free the last bit, she could follow her mother home.

"Lila, where are you going? You're supposed to die here, you can't leave."

Mika turned around at the call of her old name. Standing directly behind her was Kara and the Commander General.

Heart in her throat, all of Mika's fight left her body.

They were here, her murders. How could she fight them? No matter how many times she tries to escape, they still found her.

"Come back Lila, the sleeper cell is ready for you." The Commander General waved his arm presenting a coffin.

"It's made just for you to spend eternity in, Lila." Kara grabbed hold of Mika's free arm. She could feel the sludge accumulating on her arm again. The load was weighing her body down.

"That's it Lila lay down it will be over soon." The Commander General bought forth the coffin.

"Tsk...I didn't think you would be this weak!" A voice came from out of nowhere.

The voice pulled Mika out of her stupor. She had heard this voice before but from where? Thinking hard she tried to place it.

"Ah...? Your fears haven't consumed you fully yet?... Then stop playing around and wake up, you have work to do!"

"Who are you?" With the distraction of this new voice, Kara and Commander General appearances were slowly fading.

"Imprudent! You dare to question me when you can't even defeat these small fears of yours."

"Fears? These are real people, who killed me..."

"Child...what is your name?"

"My name?... My name is Mikaela Crystalmist Amara."

"Then why hold on to Lila? She is gone, you are now someone else. Let go of Lila."

Thinking of what this voice was saying, Mika looked back at Kara who was restraining her but instead the person who stood beside her was "Lila" her old body. Small and human, it stood there looking at her.

*Sigh*

"You're right, I'm Mikaela now. The things that held "Lila" back will not hold me back." Smiling "Lila" nodded her head as she disappeared from Mika's sight.

"Good, now wake up!"

The noise bought Kaze to Mika's healing tube, she was struggling again. Kaze looked on as she tossed and turned about in the tube when all of a sudden her body went still. Scared that something was wrong, Kaze awoke Saavi from her sleep.

Telling Saavi the events that woke him up and what happened afterward. Kaze stood to the side as Saavi checked over Mika's reading.

"She stable."

"Stable...? You sure?"

"En...I think she might wake up soon." No sooner did those words leave her mouth did Mika's eyes open.

"Young miss...!"

"Miss Mikaela...!"

Hearing her name being called, Mika looked at her friends and smiled.
