47 All for Naught

Mika was placed inside the healing pod. Lady Lyra sat by her daughter side as her slept.

"What happen...and don't leave anything out." Saavi knelt on floor by Lyra's feet. When Mika was being taken out of the prison, she was still under house arrest.

It wasn't until Lyra sent for her, that she even knew that happen to her.

"Yes, Lady Lyra....It all started the day you left..."

Back at the meeting hall, Mano had the captain of the guards kneeling at his feet. While the elders sat in their seats. Everyone was recounted the chain of events.

"Why was the interrogation so harsh, she is only twelve..." Mano questioned the elders.

"Mano, the clan rules are absolute. Even if it's a child, we mustn't bend the rules. We didn't want to give such treatment either, but the elders are here to up hold the laws of the Amara clan....As for her face....we had nothing to do with it."

"You said you found her innocence. So why was she still in the prison?"

"*Sigh*...when we went to release her, she had already broken out. Hence she had broken the clan rules...we had no choice but to bring her back...but we were going to let her out after a day. Who knew such a thing would happen to her."

"You! Explain!" Mano pointed in the captain's direction, after questioning the elders.

"Yes, Lord Mano...After the young miss Mikaela broke out of her prison. I was sent to locate her. When she was found, she was bought back to her prison room."

"What happen to her face?"

"I...I don't know. I wasn't there when they bought her back. My subordinates were the ones who bought her back." the captain indicated the two guards kneeling behind him.

"Speak."

"Yes, Lord Mano....We were the ones who bought young miss Mikaela back, but her face was not like that. There was blood, but it was from the torture of the elders."

*Cough* *Cough* The three elders cleared their throats. 'We didn't want to do it!'

"So...no one here can tell me how her face got destroyed..."

"Umm...." One of the guards looked like he wanted to say something, but was held back by his companion.

"If you have something to say, say it..." Mano was in no mood for secrecy.

"Young miss Mikaela did have visitors while she was imprisoned....."

"Who?..."

"Young miss Kamryn and Young miss Lulu...."

*Slap**Slap**Slap*

"YOU IDIOT LITTLE GIRL!!...." Lady Jaelah continuously slapped Lulu face over and over again.

All the plans and preparations gone to waste, just because this foolish girl couldn't keep her jealousy in check.

"Mother...Mother...stop, you are going to kill her." Kamryn pulled her mother off of Lulu, whose face looked like a pig's.

Kamryn had stood frozen when they bought out Mika's body. The gash on Mika's face made her body go cold. Even without Lulu telling her Kamryn knew what she did in that room. When her father left carrying Mika, Kamryn held her mother back from following along with the rest.

Whispering in her mother's ear, Kamryn told her of everything that happened that night. Lady Jaelah almost fell to her knees. Looking around for Lulu, she found her standing behind everyone with a victorious smile on her face.

"Do you have any idea what you have done!?..." Lady Jaelah sat in her chair trying to relax her nerves.

Lulu cried on the floor holding her face.

"Mother....I'm sorry..."

"Sorry?...Your father is going to come in here looking for the two of you!.."

Hearing their mother's words Kamryn and Lulu really started to get scared.

"Mother is there anything we can do?...Maybe throw the blame to the guards or the elders?" Lady Jaelah looked in Kamryn's direction, shaking her head no.

"You think the guards and the elders are not trying to cover their backs right now..Maybe we can-"

"Maybe you can what?" Mano voice entered the room before he did.

The three of the ladies jumped in their spots.

"No, please don't stop your conversation on my behalf. Please, continue on with what you were going to say..."

"....."

"No...No one has anything more to say." Mano looked at his wife and two daughters in turns.

"Well even if you three don't want to talk, I will make you talk." Taking a seat, Mano released he power around the room.

"Kamryn, you start first what happen that night."

"Father..I..I just wanted to deliver food and water to Mika." Kamryn's response was simple and to the point. Kamryn knows the best way to save herself is to keep answers short and simple.

"Mmm...food and water?"

"Yes."

"What happen that night?" Looking Lulu 's way.

Both Jaelah and Kamryn were on egg shells, waiting for Lulu response.

"I went with Kamryn. I wanted to help." Still hurting from her mother's slaps earlier, Lulu didn't want to talk more than necessary.

"Who deliver the food and water to Mika? This was the part of the story they were worried about.

"I did..." Lulu barely put any volume to her voice.

Minute went by, then five, then ten and Lord Mano still didn't make a sound. Just when Lady Jaelah couldn't take the tension in the room any longer Mano spoke.

"I never thought in my entire life that I would have a murder and a assailant for daughters."
