3 3. Is It Because You Pity Me?

Kelly turns to her father. "Fat--" Michael sighs and said, "You need to stop forcing yourself onto him, Kelly. Have some dignity, sheesh." "What's wrong with that? I like him and its wrong to like him?"

He glares at his daughter. "For goodness sake. He's engaged to Zhi Zong's granddaughter." "So what? I can snatch him away from--" "Kelly! A lady like you, who would want you? Zhi's granddaughter is more talented than you are. You cannot beat her."

He shakes his head, displeased with her. Michael turns to Mila. "Follow me, Mila." "Yes, Father." Mila then follow behind Michael. Kelly shakes in anger. "What?! Some granddaughter is more talented than me?! Who dares tries to snatch him away from me shall get their death wish."

Michael introduces every businessmen to Mila. "This is my daughter, Mila." Mila greets them politely. (So...he's just bragging about me...just for the show...) A few minutes later, there are some commotion. Annie notices some officers entering in and spots Toris. He nods to her. She then whispers to Michael. "Father." "Mm?" He turns to her. "There's some police officers here. Is there something wrong?" Michael looks around and sees a few officers at the other end.

Toris then walks towards Annie and Michael. He speaks up, "Mr. Wang." "Ah. Officer Lu. May I help you?" "We are looking for your daughter, Kelly. Is she here?" Michael sighs and mutters, "Just what did she do this time?"

Annie then said, "Father. I will look for sister and bring her here." Michael nods. Annie leave Michael's side and starts looking for Kelly. After a few minutes, she spots Kelly near the food table. She walk towards Kelly and said, "Sister." She turns around and sees Annie.

"What do you want?" "Do you know someone named Officer Lu?" "I heard of him before. Why?" "He's with Father. He was asking about you." "Me? What does he want? My eyes are only for Jamal." Annie puts her arm into Kelly's arm. "Let's go and see what Officer Lu wants from you."

Kelly sighs. "Fine." Kelly went with Annie to meet Toris. "Father. I have found sister." Kelly looks disinterested. "What do you want?" Someone pulls Annie away from Kelly. "H-hey." The men then arrest Kelly on the spot.

Kelly was shocked. Annie comes in and said, "Hey! Get those off of my sister. Just what are you doing?" Michael then adds, "What crime did she commit which makes you to arrest my daughter?" Toris was about to speak but someone interrupts. "Crime? Your daughter harms my daughter, Mr. Wang."

Everyone turns around and sees Prime Minister. Prime Minister steps in. "My wife has fallen ill due to the news of our daughter. Officer Lu went to investigate and it was because of your ruthless daughter's scheme that harms my daughter." Kelly defends herself, "What?! What did I do? You have any evidence? I only bullied her."

Everyone in the crowd murmurs. Prime Minister scoffs. "Bullied her? You done more than that." He turns to Michael. "What kind of father are you? Is this how you raise your daughter to be? Killing an innocent child?"

Michael couldn't say anything more but bit his lower lip. Annie met Prime Minister's gaze, he winks at her and nods towards him. Annie then whispers to Michael. "Father. What should we do?" Toris then shouted, "Take her out of here." "Yes!"

The men escorted Kelly out of the party. "Father! Father! I didn't do anything! Help me! Mila!" Michael sighs. Prime Minister then said, "Mr. Wang. See you in court. Hmph." "Ah...Prime Minister...wait.." Michael went to chase after Prime Minister, trying to come up with an excuse of why Jenny was harm and not Mila.

Annie looks at Toris. "So...how did it go?" He was confused. "Did you...not go and see her at the hospital?" In a low voice, he asked, "Janie...?" "You know...she's going to be at the hospital 24/7. She might be bored, so why not--" Toris cuts in. "No. She's fine. She's just acting." Toris shrugs.

Annie sighs and said, "Gee, you're no fun." She pouts and went off her way. Toris then left the party. He heads to his office to full some paper work. He lets a sigh and thought about what Annie said. After his paperwork, he heads to the hospital to check on Janie. He walks in and tries to find her room.

Soon he reach her room, he hesitates to enter her room. He peeks through the window and sees her looking through some paperwork. He smiles without realizing it. (It seems she's working hard.) He continues to watch her from afar.

Janie looks through some confidential documents about the Wang. (Michael used to own a few factories? Hmmm....) She grabs her cell phone and calls one of her men. "Hey. Go and check out the factories that Wang used to own. Go by groups. Report to me if anything suspicious." "Copy that."

She hangs up and sighs. "I'm so bored." She puts the documents back into the envelope and tuck it underneath her pillow. "When is she going to visit her dying friend here?" Janie pouts. Toris in the other hand just slightly chuckles at her reaction. (How cute..) He snaps back in reality. (What did I say....? She's cute? What is wrong with me?) He shakes his head to snap out of it.

He then knocks on the door. Janie pretends to be in a coma. Toris walks in and closed the door behind him "No need to fake it. It's just me." Janie peeks and sits up. "What do you want?" Toris sets a bag on the table. "Eat. You must be hungry."

She looks at the bag then at him. "Your motive?" "None." His eyes lowers to the floor. "I don't trust you." He remains silent for a bit and then he asked, "...How come you didn't speak up for yourself?" He looks at her. "Jenny's death. How come you--"

Janie looks down at her hands. "If I say...I have nothing to do with her death, then its a lie." She met his gaze. "It's my fault that she's dead. It's my fault I pushed her too deep. It's my fault...that...she..." Janie looks out the window. "She fell in love with an enemy...and got pregnant."

Toris's eyes widened. (J-Jenny's pregnant?) Janie continues, "I killed her and her unborn child." "....And him?" "..Who knows..." Toris then sits on the side of the bed. "Hey." Janie turns and looks at him. "...Let's work together. We will find Mila's killer. After that we can look for him."

Janie looks down at her hands. "...What change your mind?" She looks at him again. "Is it because you pity me?"
