Chapter 1 (Remade)

-Somewhere 1700 meters Underground-

There's stood a dilapidated lab that's doesn't seem to fit with the mediaeval era. There's tube and wires all over the places. There's even a huge mana generator on the side of the lab. And then, there's a huge tube in the middle.

If a mage were to get close to it, the mage would be shocked because of the water in the tube. The water in the tube is something that's very hard to get, Liquid Mana. Liquid Mana is only form when a mana get condensed together while being processed with a lot of other natural phenomenon. Such thing is almost legendary, yet here we are. A giant tube fills with it.

While the time keeps passing on in this lab, suddenly the Liquid Mana in the tube started to drain. What's left is only a child with long white hair and pale skin.

The child looks like a little girl but if you looks closely, there's a crystal on it's chest. The crystal seems to be condensed of millions, if not billions of rune inside it.

As the Liquid Mana drain out, the tube started to open while placing the child down carefully. The child lie down there as it's yet to wake up.

After a few more minutes, the child started to wake up. It's open it's eyes slowly and started to look around. Both it's eyes shone with it's blood ruby colour as it started to look around it's surrounding seemingly trying to find something. After a while, the child stood and tried to walk forward, but only to fall down immediately. The child doesn't even make any sound of its being hurt. It stood up again and tried to walk again. Just for the same thing to repeat. As it's stood up again, it's just stayed at it's place and started to speak.

"Master? Where are you?" It started to speak but only got the wind howling as it's respond.

"Mas-"

Just when it's started to repeat itself, suddenly there's something started to shows in it's eyes.

It said 'Homunculus System Has been activated'.

Then it heard a sound from inside it's head.

[Hello Host. I'm the Homunculus system that has been transformed to suit your need and also to guide you]

The child just stood there while trying to look for a protocol inside it's head for this situation.

"Protocols not found. Activating the [Personality Creation]. Warning! If the personality were to be created, Homunculus fighting ability will be reduce. But in exchange, the Homunculus will gain it's own thinking capabilities and able to improve by itself. Should I proceed with the [Personality Creation]?"

The child stood there while asking in confirmation in a monotone voice.

After 30 minutes, the system felts like it need to do something. The system then started to give confirmation according to the child as to make its owner progress.

[Yes. You may proceed.]

The system said as it's make a voice outside to make sure the command can be received.

Right after receiving the confirmation, the child started to spasm out as blood started to pours out of it's body like a river.

The system immediately activates one of its owner safety measures just to keeps its owner alive.

Time pass on as the child stop spasming and bleeding. It's lie down there as it's face looks like it's currently asleep. The child sleeps on as there's nothing bothered him. The system also felt that it's owner need to rest so it can recover from it's earlier injury.

The next day, The child start to wake up as it's wipe it's eyes with it's hand.

"*yawn..." It looks around and suddenly it thoughts of something. This time though, the voice isn't monotone anymore. But a voice of a little girl.

"Who... am I again?" It started to ponder and just stay there. If you compare the child currently before it's proceed with the last order, there's a huge different. Now, the child can act without order and has a will of itself.

It's started to look around and saw a bookshelf covered in dust.

It's tried to walk there only to fall, but this time it's started to show a bit of emotions instead.

"Ow... Is this the feelings of pain? But why is it walking has becomes a lot harder now? According to my memories, walking should be easy..."

The child then tried to walk again and falls again.

"...I would say that this isn't a good thing. And I feeling a bit of the so called 'Frustration'. I should probably stopped for now."

It lie down on the floor and stare at the roof.

Suddenly it heard a voice.

[Good Morning Host. It seems that you have finally awoken]

The child started to become vigilance and looks around it's surrounding for the unknown person.

[Don't worry host. I'm inside your head. I'm here to guide and help you in your way of life]

The system states out it purpose to the child.

"Way of life? According to my memories, everyone has their own way of life, though I never understand the meaning of it. And you said that you can help me. Then can you please tell me who I am?"

[Yes I can. If you want to know about yourself, please think of the word status inside your head.]

The system replied to it's owner questions so it's owner can relax a bit.

"Status? What are you trying to do?" It still looks around vigilantly as it's started to think the meaning behind the word.

[...Just think of that word inside your mind, host.]

The system was speechless at it's host action. It seems that it's future will be difficult. After all, why would you become so cautious about a single word?

After a while, the child just follows what the system said to it as it can't find anyone around in the vicinity. Then, as soon as the child thought of the word 'Status', a transparent blue screen immediately pop-up out of nowhere.

"Ah." The child immediately got scared a bit but not too much as it only let an emotionless short scream.

[Host, don't be scared. It's just showed some information about you.]

"I was surprised ok? After all I never fully trust you yet. And that feelings, it's the so called 'fear' right?"

The systems was speechless at the child untrustworthy at it. Did it do something wrong before?

[...Yes...Now you may proceed with the status. In there, it will told you some basic and certain information.]

"Okay..."

The child started to look at it's status only to speak out to the system.

"What is this language? This is the first time I see this language. I don't think I can read anything written here."

The child said that while feelings surprised about it. It was sure that it can read any languages before but now, the language that was shown was not on it's memory. It's like an entirely new language.

The system was once again left speechless and asked.

[...What language did you know?]

"I know the dark elves language, the demon language, a bit of dragon language and a bit of humans language." The child respond as it's still trying to think what language is in the panel.

The system felt it's future is getting harder and harder as it's goes on. The system vow to itself that it should not ask anymore questions in the future as to not make it's life harder.

Then, it's started to make a plan for the child so it can live independently without relying too much at the system.

[Host... The language that was used is a universal language in this world. But, it's seems that you don't have any universal language in your memories. So for today, I will help you read this, but... After this, we will have some training sessions for you.]

"Training? It's an action that allowed any being to reach their limits and potential right?" The child said as it's wanted to see if it's memories is right. After all, the child already has some knowledge that it don't has. Thus, it just wanted to make sure that it's remaining memories is correct.

The system ignore the child questions and started to read the status of it's owner towards it.

Please give me an advice whether I should use 'it' for the child or something else cause I have no idea on what to use here.
