1 In The Beginning

..There was nothing, just the emptiness of the void.

... 'What happened? Where am I?'

..A voice called out from every direction, "Do not be afraid, my son."

..As if out of nowhere a light appeared. It was a brilliant golden light that began to rapidly grow in size.

..The young soul began to panic as the light seemed to consume him.

.."Am I dreaming?"...

..A moment later he begins to feel the warmth radiating around him.

..'This is strange, I don't seem to have a body. I also have not needed to breath. It feels as if the anxiety that I was experiencing before, never existed. I have never felt this at peace in my entire life.'

.."Maybe I'm not dreaming, maybe I'm dead."

..The same voice from earlier said gently. "You are right, my son." A man that the voice belonged, began too appear before him.

..Not being able to make out his appearance, as if it was blocked by a thick fog. "You said that I was dead. Does that mean that you are God? Is this Heaven?"

.."I Am the Lord your God.".. "But you are not yet in heaven. I have come to offer you a choice. You may go to Heaven, if that is what you wish. Your place in Heaven has already been prepared for you. Or you may choose to go to a new world."

..He just stared at the man who called himself God for a moment, as he had watched anime and read manga a lot in his life. He was familiar with the idea of reincarnating into a different world. He just didn't think that's how it actually worked.

.."I didn't think that you let us travel to other worlds after death. Is this normal? I thought you either went to heaven or hell."

..Looking at the young soul with a gentle smile, "You are once again correct. Normally if you place your faith in me, you would then get to go to Heaven after your death.".. "However, since you have showed such great faith, in spite of all your misfortunes. I have decided to reward you with a special task."

..With a series tone, "This world is in serious trouble, and I know you have always had the heart of a true hero.".. "That is what killed you, after all."

..Content with the news of how he died. "So I died trying to be a hero?".. "For some reason, I can't remember."

.."I know you have struggled throughout your life. You have been tested many times. You even turned your back on me for a time.".. "But I have never left your side throughout all of your struggles."..

"Even when you hated me."..

"But I did not give up on you, and this is what eventually rekindled the faith you once had buried deap inside."..

"That faith grew to be as hot as the sun and as bright as any star."

..Looking down, "I know you have always been there for me."..

"Even when I hated you."..

"You were my friend when I had none."..

"You were my family when mine left."..

"And for this. You will always have my loyalty and trust."..

"I am not sure how much help I will be in my current condition, but if you want me to be a hero to this other world"..

"Then that is what I will do."

.."You do not have to worry my son. For you do not even need to go right away. As the place we are in exists outside of time and space. It is a place for the weary, for it is [The Realm Of Rest]. You will come hear every time you sleep. It will help you recover your mind, body and soul. You may have realized it by now, but you cannot become stressed or tired here. That is because it will just wash away.".."I will also be providing you with a system designed specifically for you in this other world."

..The young soul was relieved that he didn't have to go right away. He was also happy that he would get a system to help him in this new world...

..A horrible thought just dawned on him. "Would you be in this world too, or would I truly be alone?"

..With a gentle tone God replies, "I will always be beside you, my son. In this other world, I will even directly communicate with you through prayer. The world I am sending you to is another one of my creations after all. It was inspired by some of your worlds fables. It is currently going through the Apocalypse that it has brought upon itself."..

.."Thank you.. I don't know what I would do without you."...

.."Now, you should get some rest before departing." God said before slowly vanishing. A start button appeared in His place.

..'Since this place exists outside of time and space. I will take a long and much needed rest.' He then began to drift off into sleep...

..After what felt like eons. He opened his eyes. They are filled with courage and determination.
