3 Chapter-3 : Broadway & Holiday House [1]
Since coming back to past Richad had decided to lead a life without regret and enjoy as much as possible for that he targeted Hollywood as its one of his dream and regret in previous life.
For any work one needs enough preparation and enough knowledge. As he knows the future,all he needs is ample preparation before entering Hollywood , one of them is being a famous author which is in progress. Then the next step is to enrich his acting skill and whats the best place for it 'Stage drama.'
The best place for acting in drama in New york is Broadway. Its the perfect stage not only enrich acting skill but also create a weight for any future audition. There lots of shows are being shown in Broadway every year. Now its 80s, the broadway haven't lost his popularity as it have during the turn over the century.
The Broadway street is always busy. Streets are full of people and cars, buzzing with all kinds of sound, buildings full of colorful ads or movie posters, Shops full of various items with rich colurs and aromas.
In this busy road a red BMW car stopped in-front of the broadway theater. Richard got out of the car looked at the theatre infront of him.
'No matter how may times I see this place I become amazed' he thought while looking around daze.
"Honey stop spaceign out on the road lests go."
Shout broke daze he immediately called out "coming!" run inside the theater.
"Stop spacing out like every-time, its a bad habit" glared Hanna when Richard walking beside her.
"Sorry!!" he replied while showing his tongue.
"Naughty as all ways aren't you Ri" someone said.
""Morning Mr. Thomas."" they greeted him.
"You seem excited today Ricahrd"
"Of course today is the audition for <the little lords>, i have been practicing for this play since last week."
"Good boy. but don't worry If you show even a little less of what you show in the training you still can get the role. After all I have seen hardly anyone of your age at your level." Mr. Thomas gave a rare praise.
"Thanks." Richard smiled with a shy look.
Mr.Thomas Lane is the drama teacher of Richard. he is also a director who have directed many famous plays even though he was a famous actor during his prime. Although he is close to 60 in age but still looks no less 50 years old. This man is well respected among his peers also one of prominent people in Broadway and a famous member of American Theatre Wing as well as The Broadway League, the association famous for giving the Tony Award.
Richard entered the broadway on february this year. It was Thomas who found out Richard acting skills got him under his teaching since than five months have passed.
As said by Thomas Richard won the role and the show take place three months from now and will be running for three whole month. Since its his first show both this and previous life he is very excited as he feels that he getting closer to his goal.
After finishing the audition both Hanna and Richard left for a Holiday House publication. This compay is famous for publishing children books and <My Ocean stories> was published by them.
They came here today to finally publish the story <Finding Nemo> as Hanna determind there is enough publicity fermentation of the Author R.R Jackson.
In the company they met Austin. He is the editor of Richard. When they met at the meeting room they were surprised to find chief Editor with Austin.
"Hello my name is Harmen karr. I an the Chief Editor of this branch." said Harmen.
""Hello"" they replied.
"So, your R.R Jackson. I thought you will be more older. When Austin Said this stories were written by a kid I was surprised. So, when he siad the author will come today I readily came to meet you today."
"Thank you Mr. Harmen." said Richard shyly(To keep up the act)
"Well it is surprising to see the Chief editor. Today we came to publish this new story." interrupted Hanna while putting the manuscript of <Finding nemo> infront of him.
Seeing the manuscript without further ado Harmen started reading it. after a moment he exclimed
"Its a wonderful story, specifically the progression, the humor is well placed, and the world building is absolutely stunning. I have to say its a very good story. but the main thing is how much do you want?"
"200,000$ and 10% if the book sold more or less than 10,000 , 15% if the book sold 50,000 or more and 20% if sold 100,000 or more. Also all the copyright will be kept by us."
"Impossible. 100,000$ and 5% if the book sold 50,000 or more and 10% if sold 100,000 or more."
"No it have to be 200,000$ but 10% if the book sold 50,000 or more and 20% if sold 100,000 or more."
"Make it 8% and 15% you have deal."
"My bottom line 5% and 20% no more no less."
"Well you have a deal. I will send ask someone to bring the contract and nice meeting you madam and Richard" said Harmen while shaking hand with Hanna and Richard and left the room.
"It was cool Mom!!!" said Richard excitedly when Harmen and Austin left.
"Isn't it. Keep all this stuff to your mom in the future." replied Hanna proudly while lifting his chin.
"Ok." said Richard while raising his hand up in the air.
Few moment later Austin brought the contract and gave it to Hanna. She checked the contract thoroughly for any loopholes and after being satisfied sighed the contract.
"With this the story will be published in two weeks" said Austin happily while taking back the contract.
"In two week why not by next week." frowned Hanna.
"Ha ha ha... well we to find a illustrator to illustrate suitable cover picture as well as the characters." Austin laughed dryly.
"If you don't mind i have few illustration of characters and the few cover photos. " saying Richard brought out few sketches and handed over to Austin.
"Its great Richard, with this the book will be published in next week without any problem. Man you are such a genius." said Austin excitedly after looking trough the sketches.
"hahaha..." Richard laughed shyly.
