Chapter 3

Eva chose to make a three part long short to complete her 5 minute short film. For that she couldn't waste her time much more so she decided to first rehearse the whole thing first then shoot it.

Eva after finding actors she went to Union to select some suitable personnel for her shooting team. She chose a regular team who had done some filming and who are cheap. After selecting them Eva leased a place where she would shoot the short film due to making a Dublin introduction to the principal of the school and his own school actors participating he let her use the school for the shoot in 20,000 euros for 6 weeks.

Eva first showed the group of actors the choreography for the dance the way she explained is like this.

"Listen up people, I want you to understand the way our shooting is going to be like. You guys must have seen the High School Musical right?"

All 12 People nodded

"Then understand that we will do the dance sequence like that so that way you all will be in the groups and dance."

Eva made the short film like "City of Angels" song from La La Land but in thisshort film actually doesn't have much content, it's nothing more than the opening perspective of the heroine played by Arsha.

She went down the stairs of her house, then walked out of the house and onto the street. Under the bright Dublin sun, she walked through the winding streets all the way, with people passing behind and in front of the camera.

Then she began to dance, singing as she danced, as if praising this beautiful city.

Then, gradually, other backup dancers joined in, and together they sang and danced in all directions.

During this time, the camera of Eva will slide from the heroine Arsha to the other personnel.

The subject being photographed is constantly changing.

Finally a group of boys and girls entered the school dancing and singing together.

Then there is a series of twists and turns in the campus scene, walking up the stairs and shuttling between classrooms.

As the bell rang, the short film gradually ended. Eva made them in three parts with three long shorts.

It took Eva three weeks to finally hammer down the whole concept to the casting and then she started to shoot the short film. It was hard to find at first but she slowly gradually made the three long shorts in the remaining three weeks. The shooting finally was finished but now she had only post production remaining.

For post production she choose to do it with Allen he had some experience and had his own post production studio. She went there with her short footage.

In Allen's mind, this girl's short film may only be 50% complete, no more. Then, he opened the finished film and planned to watch it first, because Eva said that he would come and finish the post-production with him tomorrow.

In the beginning, it was a bland over-the-shoulder shot.

The heroine Arsha walked down the stairs at home. She has long golden hair and a pair of dark green eyes.

Pushing open the door, the streets of Dublin are outside.

Bright, quiet, long and leisurely.

A street that seems to have been descended by a beautiful angel.

The camera followed Arsha all the time, she walked onto the street, and the passers-by shuttled around her.

Some are in different directions from her, while others are in the same direction as her.

Then, the heroine suddenly started dancing. Although there was no post-production sound effect, it gave the impression that she started dancing to the music and it's dancing and singing.Originally, it was nothing. That is how first two minutes of the short film was shot then came.

Then in another shot the singing and dancing began, those backup dancers began to appear one after another, and the camera slid from Arsha to a boy playing basketball.

Then after a while, there was another 180° reversal. With the help of the track and the stabilizer, the camera turned to another girl again.

In the last shot many boys and girls suddenly appeared, some passed by, and some went with them.The dancing partner coming out of the classroom, the actors walking back and forth, and the constantly changing and sliding shots in a small space and In the last couple of seconds the camera came to Arsha and then it ends neatly there.

Allen found it hard that a newcomer can shoot this good short film.

Eva and Allen took a week to finally finish the short film with background music and some minor cutes here and there. In this proces Eva described her demands to Allen and he took some time to complete them the main thing Eva wanted on a color grading she told Allen

"I don't want to see the thin picture like TV news, but I know that the texture picture takes a lot of work-adjustment, and the cost is also very high, so I don't need you to do that, you help me Just make the tones highly saturated."

High contrast, bright and bright colors are Eva's only requirements.

After all, color is a way to reflect the character's heart. In such a bright and splendid atmosphere, the color must be extremely bright and colorful.

The color contrast and saturation that Eva wants to express is like a fairy tale.

She hopes that the tone of this short film will be like candy, like cake, like fine wine, and like strong medicine.

Pink blue pink green, sweet, sweet and greasy.

So in the later tuning-teaching, Eva spent most of the time competing with the tone.

As for music she wanted something like City of Angles from La La Land and that was all and it was finished. The finished product was of 5 minutes 23 seconds.

She took this film and sent it to the committee and waited for the reply of the committee.
