Blink Twice If You Need Help

The air around them shimmers, as three figures appear, reinforcing the church members. The smile on the demon only grows bigger, as his pride swells at the need for more help against him.

"You saved me the trouble of looking for the rest of you. Good."

The supervisor nods his head, as the three others rush in, intending to go into close combat with the demon, while the last member hangs back, making call-outs through their communication.

One member rushes towards the demon, pulling out a sword and shield as he attempts to swipe at the demon. Its superior speed allows it to easily sidestep the attack and lash out with one of its wings, which he blocks with his shield.

Another church member comes in, whipping out a blade at the end of a chain, that lashes out at the demon's head. The demon easily ducks the attack and recovers in time for the next church member's attack, who swipes at him with a mace.

Laughing as he dances around the mace, he flaps his wings, sending powerful winds that almost blow the church members off their feet. They realize that it will be harder for them to attack while he's in the air. Falling back out of his range, they decide to switch it up.

The church member with the chain goes back in, along with the one who wields the sword and shield. The one with the mace puts it away as he begins chanting. Laughing at how much they were struggling; slashes of darkness swiftly race towards the approaching church members.

They block or dodge the dark slashes as the final member finishes his chant. A ball of brilliant light shoots out from his mace towards the demon. His laughter abruptly stops as he didn't expect such an attack from them. He figured that any spell they used could easily be dodged when cast outside his range. However, they exploited a weakness that he didn't know he had. His eyes.

He stumbled around in the air, blindly lashing out wherever he thought they were, as he couldn't hear their approach. Seeing his sorry state, they capitalize on his moment of blunder as they wouldn't get another chance. Despite his best efforts, his flails are to no avail against these experienced fighters as he can feel the cold metal of a chain wrap around his body. Struggling against the chain, he feels a sharp pain where his wings start as he falls heavily to the ground.

Without his wings, the ability stops, allowing the church members to speak freely in his presence again. After two more chants, the demon's body is pinned to the ground, which brings a smirk to the superior's face. The ability, against anyone that wasn't quick thinking and fighting alone, would be impossible. Against them, it was a mild nuisance at best.

As the demon's vision clears, he sees the man approaching him, and his arrogance that he displayed earlier was nowhere to be seen. Instead, there was that same feeling he felt when he encountered an Archdemon for the first time when he was just spawned. When it looked at him and made him eat the dirt in the demon realm. That day, he swore to never feel fear again.

Stepping on the demon's back with a foot, the man draws his weapon, a poleaxe, and aims it at the demon's head.

"Another demon purged in Luminous' great name. We ended your story before it even begun." Raising his poleaxe in the air, the demon, silently screams in terror as it struggles uselessly against its bonds.

The man pauses, as he feels a new threat enters nearby. Looking up, they find the ghastliest looking demon towering above them. The group tenses up, backing away from the bound demon as they prepare for the threat they didn't know existed.

Nidhogg POV:

With the restrictions placed on the planet, I couldn't Kumon off the planet, but I could Kumon to a direction. I didn't want to spam it, as consistently using it consumed a lot of my mana. Plus, if I knew correctly, I didn't want to drop in with half a tank in mana. So, catching up was pretty difficult.

Stepping out of the void, I could see seven figures below me. The demon was in a bad situation as I had successfully saved him from an execution. I was weary of them, as much as they were weary of me. I could clearly tell the strongest one was the guy with the polearm, also the one in charge as many looked to him before doing anything.

The demon who just remembered me, looks up from his position.

"HELP ME!" He screams, which brings a smile to my face. Where once he was dignified, full of pride and arrogance, he was now with his face in the dirt. Funny how near death humbles you. Of course, I had a lot to gain from his misfortune.

"I will. For a price." I tell him. From the ground, he sighs in relief.

"Whatever it is, I don't care. Just save me." He replies. Smiling at how easily I took advantage of him, I turn to face the threats before me.
