"Goddamn assholes thinking they can just do whatever the fuck they want ill really show you"

Jumping upright in bed I could hear father angrily slurring his words as he went on another one of his tirades. Looking to the left I read my clock that said 5:30 a.m. Sitting in bed for a second longer my body instantly tenses as I hear a crashing sound accompanied by a soft whimper instantly realizing it came from rin I all but haul ass into the living room.

I'm instantly greeted by glass shattered all over the floor, my sister in the middle and my father violently breathing in her face. Without hesitating I instantly insert myself between the two "leave her alone" it comes out low but I know he's heard me as the anger once pointed at my sister lands on me.

"The fuck you say to me boy?" "I said to leave her the FUCK alone" whatever's come over me I don't know I haven't ever raised my voice at him before but what he did last night to rin and seeing him already harassing her before the suns even risen has already cut my thin patience short. With lightning fast moves, his hand instantly wraps around my neck roughly shoving me against the wall.

"I ought to beat you to the inch of your life right now little boy I don't know what the hell you think this is but this is my fuckin' house and I will do damn well as I please" he sneers, spit hitting my face.

I had completely forgotten she was here but as soon as my sister speaks I all but struggle out of his hold to continue keeping distance between the two.

"Dad, dad please not today it's our first day of school and we have to get ready, please people will ask questions" she pleads grabbing onto his wrist the is wrapped around my throat tightly. I assume he's fed up with the sight of us seeing as he eventually lets go of my throat after staring at the two of us with glazed bloodshot eyes "whatever" he spits out. I quickly rush to her side trying to avoid the broken glass all around us " next time don't interfere id rather have him focused on me than you" I say as we both walk to our rooms to get ready for school " okay: she quietly whispers with her head down.

Walking up the steps to school I suddenly feel an arm wrap around mine as rin quietly steps closer to me without saying anything I already feel wary of everyone looking at her as we walk towards our lockers. From the corner of my eye, I see a young girl probably a freshman looking our way I quickly wink at her and instantly she goes red, from next to me rin softly speaks,

"If I find another pair of underwear in the car I swear ill key your car" chuckling I retort "that car you're going to key also happens to belong to you." she just rolls her eyes, continuing down the hall I hear a group of kids whispering among themselves while stealing quick glances at us.

"Look! its Corrin and Cassius"

"She's so cold she never lets any get close to her"

" Cassius is so hot but isn't he a little scary?"

"Shhh! they'll hear you"

Glaring I tilt my head to the side threateningly and stop "what are you guys talking about hmmm?" they all instantly tense up "n-nothing w-we weren't talking about a-anything" they quickly exasperate. "I don't know It didn't seem like 'nothing' to me you got something you wanna say o my face instead of behind my back cause I'm right here if you wanna" I sneer as I'm about to take a step towards them I feel rin tug on my arm looking at her she all but shakes her head golden eyes just like mine staring at me.

Huffing I say nothing else and continue on, finally reaching our lockers is when rin decides to speak " must you be so confrontational" smirking I give her a level look "shouldn't one of us be and who better than me," "there's nothing wrong with just ignoring them you know" closing my locker and leaning on it as I wait for her to finish getting everything she needs I say " yeah. Well, I cant so.." she says nothing else and closes her locker and follows me to her first class.

Stopping in front of the door the first bell rings telling everyone to get to class, before she can enter I gently grab her wrist that still has faint finger marks wrapped around it " are you okay? Still hurting? Will you be okay in class? Do i-" before I can finish she grabs my wrist softly pulling away " ill be fine no one bothers me anyways so get to class alright?" slowly nodding I watch her walk away through the door long black hair falling to her waist. Rubbing my face I saunter off to class taking my time as I stroll through the halls finally reaching my class I open the door quickly not even trying to be quiet "finally decided to join us huh Mr. king" I don't say anything as I plop into the empty seat in the farthest back corner stretching out in the seat I cross my arms as the airpod in my right ear blasts a song by bullet for my valentine I slowly close my eyes as I drift off to sleep.
