Thales Manuscript

In the bustling Diagon Alley, Felix reappeared and immediately spotted Harry returning from shopping. The two children still held Baiwei cones from Florin Volkswagen Ice Cream Shop.

Harry dashed forward, spotted Felix in the crowd, and waved enthusiastically. "Uncle Felix, where have you been?"

"I met a friend who brought me some gifts," Felix replied, handing the box wrapped in parchment to Harry.

Harry, in turn, retrieved the gold cloth bag Gringotts had given him earlier and tucked the box inside.

"Mr. Peregrine, do you have any other plans? If you're free, how about joining us for a casual meal in London?" Chris suggested, rising from his seat.

"Of course, but first I need to stop by the potion shop to pick up some ingredients," Felix accepted without hesitation. The Granger family seemed to be getting along well.

Later, Felix visited the potion shop, acquiring many items that appeared rather peculiar to the Granger family. They then reconvened at the Leaky Cauldron Bar.

The adults decided to peruse the record store adjacent to the Leaky Cauldron.

In a French restaurant on Charing Cross Street, the group engaged in casual conversation. Chris, evidently eager to learn more about the wizarding world, seemed slightly anxious, likely owing to his concern for his infant daughter.

Meanwhile, Hermione felt somewhat discontented. Unable to use British pounds in Diagon Alley, she had been smitten with numerous books but lacked the funds to purchase them.

It was then that Felix discovered the limit on exchanging British pounds for Galleons, a benefit exclusively provided to Hogwarts students with a cap on the amount.

Upon Felix's approval, Harry eagerly shared tales of their adventures at Moonlight Castle with Hermione. Soon enough, Hermione's preoccupation with Diagon Alley waned.

Although she harbored a profound curiosity about magic, her impending graduation year from primary school took precedence.

Or so Hermione believed...

During this outing, the Grangers learned Harry Potter's true name, though no explanation was offered regarding its concealment.

Following dinner, Chris, upon learning that several individuals resided in Surrey County, even offered to drive Felix home, an offer which Felix politely declined.

Before parting ways, Felix demonstrated a few wizarding tricks for their entertainment.

...

Back at Moonlight Castle, Felix reclined lazily on the sofa, relishing the sensation of contentment.

It's been quite some time since I've roamed freely like this.

"Harry, hand me that ancient Greek manuscript," Felix requested lazily.

Observing the manuscript at Bojinbok's shop earlier, he discerned its extraordinary nature immediately.

Certain runes on the parchment bore a striking resemblance to those on the Triton sword seized from Blackbeard in the Caribbean.

Felix presently pursued two primary research avenues, both stemming from his Caribbean exploits.

One concerned the Triton sword obtained from Blackbeard; the other, a trident retrieved from the depths of the sea.

He cared naught for the sea's curse, the artifacts, or even Davy Jones's power.

All a true wizard sought was the occult knowledge underpinning these curses or artifacts.

Should he successfully decipher them, he could advance a step closer.

In light of this, Felix extracted the manuscript from its display case. Astonishingly, despite being a fragment, it hailed from Thales, one of Ancient Greece's Seven Sages.

Though Felix couldn't ascertain whether it originated from Thales himself or was a later imitation, the notion that such a document would surface in a dark magic emporium was incredulous.

Presently, Harry handed the manuscript to Felix.

Observing Harry's expression, Felix inquired curiously, "Are you particularly cheerful today?"

Harry grinned sheepishly. "Um, not really... I just... Well, Hermione is my first friend."

With a hint of uncertainty, Harry added, "Uncle Felix, is that what friendship feels like?"

Harry, having never experienced friendship before, had always been the target of bullying at school. No one wished to befriend him, lest they become Dudley's adversaries.

"I believe they can indeed be considered friends," Felix pondered briefly before nodding.

A radiant smile adorned Harry's face as Felix turned to ask, "When does your school term commence?"

"Still another two weeks," Harry responded.

Felix nodded in acknowledgment. "In that case, if you find yourself at loose ends, consider venturing outdoors more. With the castle's renovations nearly complete, there's no need to while away your days here in boredom."

Harry's spirits lifted momentarily before he recollected something, shaking his head. "I don't think it's a good idea. Dudley and his gang will hassle me if they catch sight of me outside..."

Familiarizing himself with history, Felix was already aware that wizards now concealed themselves among ordinary folk. He had long abandoned the notion of avenging Dudley upon discovering magic.

Rising from the sofa, Felix remarked, "It's entirely up to you. Alternatively, you could explore the mountains and take a broomstick ride or something of the sort."

"Really?" Harry's eyes sparkled with excitement as he gazed at the broomstick.

Felix didn't glance back. "Just make sure to stay safe. Oh, and by the way, familiarize yourself with the next spell, 'Clean Up,' within the week."

"Okay!" Harry agreed eagerly.

As Felix descended to the basement, Harry looked at the broomstick meteor leaping towards him and eagerly grasped its handle.

The meteor seemed visibly deflated. As a broomstick, its existence had been reduced to mundane household chores like sweeping the floor.

Just when the meteor thought they could finally soar into the skies together, Harry unexpectedly released his grip.

"Sorry, Meteor. I think I should finish my chores first before we have fun. Let's tidy up first, then I'll learn the magic spell Uncle Felix mentioned, and then we can go out to play," Harry apologized, noticing the broomstick's disappointment.

The broomstick drooped like a wilted flower, conveying its dejection, before slinking back to the corner to lean against the wall resentfully.

Harry offered a sheepish smile and proceeded to the wardrobe on the second floor. He hadn't yet folded the clothes he'd collected earlier that morning...

Dong dong dong—

A sudden knock at the door interrupted his thoughts. Lucifer, peering sleepily from the fireplace, muttered, "Someone's at Privet Drive."

Harry hurried over, and with a turn of the doorknob, the dial pointed to Privet Drive, allowing him to open the door.

Standing outside was a familiar face, Mrs. Hudson from next door.

"Hello, young Potter. What brings you here? I thought you lived at No. 4 Privet Drive?" Mrs. Hudson inquired softly.

"Hello, Mrs. Hudson. I'm just... playing around," Harry replied casually. "Is there something I can help you with?"

Mrs. Hudson explained, "Oh, it's nothing major. I was wondering if the owner had a lawn mower. Mine broke halfway through mowing, and I need to borrow one to finish the job."

A lawn mower...

Harry pondered for a moment before shaking his head. "I'm sorry, Mrs. Hudson. Uncle Felix doesn't have a lawn mower."

Disappointed, Mrs. Hudson sighed. "Ah, well. I'll have to ask the other neighbors then. Thank you anyway, young Potter. Have a pleasant day."

"Thank you, Mrs. Hudson," Harry replied with a smile, watching her depart. An idea suddenly dawned on him.

Perhaps he could use magic to subtly alter things, just like he had done before.

Previously, he couldn't control it, but now, things were different. He had mastery over his abilities, and he could even improve upon them...

"Mrs. Hudson, if you don't mind, could I take a look at your lawn mower?"
