Chapter 22: This thing is much easier to use than a magic wand

"At this moment, the opponent's strength is definitely above mine."

Even though he was very confident in his own strength, Dudley didn't believe he could match Hagrid's power. So, he decided to use firearms.

The 30-caliber fully automatic shotgun, also known as the Winchester, used 7.62x63mm ammunition. It was a popular ammunition specification widely used in hunting and shooting activities. With high initial velocity and penetration power, it could effectively kill medium-sized wild animals such as deer, wild boars, foxes, etc. It could penetrate certain obstacles like trees and bushes, making it a good firearm.

Dudley believed that ordinary firearms could kill wizards, but how much damage they could cause to Hagrid, a half-giant wizard, remained uncertain. If the shotgun were replaced with a more powerful firearm, there would be no problem.

Unfortunately, while the Hamon Qi Gong had a certain effect on weapons, it was limited to those held in hand. Whether bullets could be enchanted was still questionable.

Fortunately, with the LV2 firearm skill, Dudley could increase the firepower of the shotgun.

"Fool, let me put your mind at ease." Hagrid once again pulled out his little red umbrella, aiming it at Dudley. "Are you ready?"

Since he had his back to Hagrid, he didn't see the motion of Dudley straightening his shotgun with Hamon Qi Gong.

"Dudley, don't!"

Petunia and Vernon tried to stop Dudley, but this time, Dudley didn't listen to them. He was never one to silently endure being bullied, especially when Hagrid had bullied his family. Besides, there was the reward from the mission. He had to complete it!

A red light flashed at the tip of Hagrid's red umbrella as Dudley, closely watching Hagrid's actions, rolled to the side.

Not all spells had tracking capabilities, at least not the one Hagrid was using. Whether a spell could be successful depended on whether it hit the target. If it was avoided, then it really was avoided.

So, even if a wizard's power might be lacking, agility and reaction speed had to be fast.

"But don't you have to shout out the spell?"

When Dudley dodged the spell, he thought about it. He didn't hear Hagrid chanting the spell.

He knew that there was a top-level casting method called Silent Casting, which didn't require chanting. However, he doubted Hagrid would be capable of such high-end spellcasting.

That meant Hagrid was using a spell that didn't require chanting.

Not all spells had incantations. For example, the Transfiguration spell didn't require chanting when casting the basic type. You could cast it directly. However, you had to understand the definition of the transformation material conversion before casting to avoid transforming into something you didn't want. That was why Transfiguration was a separate subject from the standard spell courses.

As expected, the spell Hagrid released was a Transfiguration spell, as Dudley deduced. The spell didn't hit Dudley but struck a nearby wooden cabinet, causing it to visibly expand.

"Superpowers?!" Harry exclaimed.

As a normal person who had lived in modern society, encountering magic for the first time, the first thoughts were superpowers and wizards. Witches and wizards were secondary compared to the concept of superpowers.

Hagrid raised his hand again, casting another spell, but Dudley agilely avoided it. No matter how many spells were cast, they were meaningless if they didn't hit.

To be honest, the casting speed of spells was much slower than bullets. At least, Dudley had enough reaction time.

"I wonder if other people's spells are the same."

After dodging another spell, Dudley aimed his gun at Hagrid once again. With the life skill of firearms, Dudley was as familiar with the shotgun as wizards were with wands.

Headshots were out of the question. It wouldn't be good if he actually blew off Hagrid's head. Dudley aimed at Hagrid's right shoulder this time.

"Bang!"

A faint smell of gunpowder filled the room. Hagrid's shoulder felt a strong impact, causing him to take a step backward.

The defense was broken, but it seemed like nothing happened. Hagrid wore a dirty-looking coat, but it could resist the impact of bullets to some extent, acting as a buffer. Coupled with Hagrid's half-giant physique, he only bled a little.

If it were a wizard, most spells wouldn't work on Hagrid.

Using gaming terms, Hagrid's magical resistance and physical resistance were top-notch.

"Bang!" Another gunshot.

Without hesitation, this time, Dudley aimed at the right shoulder again. Due to the close-range firing, although he couldn't cause penetrating damage to Hagrid, the impact of the bullets still staggered him.

But it was enough.

The third shot!

Still aimed at the right shoulder.

Almost simultaneously, the fourth shot rang out.

This time, Dudley's target was Hagrid's wrist, specifically the hand holding the wand.

"Bang!"

The little red umbrella fell to the ground.

"This thing is much better than a wand," Dudley said, clapping his hands.

Although he had never used a wand, he had heard that all Muggle-made mechanical devices malfunctioned at Hogwarts. He didn't know the principle behind it but would like to study it if given the chance.

He remembered there was an unlit life skill called Mechanical Modification in the system. Regardless of whether he could learn magic, he couldn't face wizards without any means of retaliation.

Being prepared and having a trump card were things Dudley liked to do.

Dudley walked over, lightly placing the shotgun on his shoulder and stepping on the sofa with one foot. His gaze swept over the messy room, then over the worried faces of the Dursley couple, and finally landed on Hagrid, who had lost his wand and was sitting on the ground.

"Fool, what do you think of the power of this little iron stick now?"

It would be even better if there were a cigar in his mouth at this moment.

"Cool!" Harry exclaimed, his eyes shining.

From the bottom of his heart, he thought Dudley looked incredibly cool at this moment.

It was just that Hagrid hadn't encountered anyone who had dealt with Muggles before; otherwise, Dudley wouldn't have had such a good opportunity. After all, Hagrid had only attended Hogwarts for a few days before being expelled. Not only was his wand broken, but he also only knew a few basic spells.

Spells like the Shield Charm, Protego, Repelling Spell, and Metallic Spell, Hagrid couldn't perform any of them.

Hagrid lowered his head, his disheveled hair and thick beard making it impossible to see his expression.

Seemingly deeply affected, he murmured with a buzzing sound in his mouth.

"I guess I'm not cut out to be a wizard."

His face turned from green to red.

"Sorry, I mean, sorry!"

It was unclear whom he was apologizing to, mixed with a low sob.

"I have to take Harry away. He must go to Hogwarts!"

"This is Professor Dumbledore's task, sorry, I can't..."

Hagrid suddenly grabbed the little red umbrella that had fallen not far away, pointing it at Dudley's back.

A red light exploded at the tip of the little red umbrella.

"Dudley, watch out!" Harry exclaimed.

The screams of the Dursley couple echoed throughout the small house.
