2 CHAPTER 2

Harrison opened his eyes and coughed slightly, however, even though his eyes were open he couldn't see a single thing in front of him. Bringing his hand to his face, he discovered that someone put a blindfold on him, and although he tried to remove it, he couldn't muster enough strength to do it.

The smell he could notice was exotic and much better than anything he had smelled before, it felt like lavender and some other sort of perfume, the closest experience he had in terms of smells, was when he entered the hall of a big company, but it didn't last long since the guards kicked him out pretty quickly.

He used his hand to force himself to sit down on the bed where he was, the feeling of the blanket made him feel like he was dreaming, it was his first time touching such a soft and comfortable thing. In the surroundings he could hear the sound of people talking, all of them seemed to be woman voices, they spoke softly as if they were trying to not attract other's attention.

"Did you saw the kid?"

"Yes... such a poor child, his state was deplorable, those muggles are truly getting worse and worse with each year."

"Yeah... I can't even imagine how difficult life must have been for him, have you seen the results of his family tree research? All of them murdered! Ditched in some hole in the forest because of a debt, who could have thought that even his parents' friends wouldn't take care of him..."

"If only we could do something, but those laws about hiding magic from the muggles... sigh..."

Harrison didn't know who they were talking about, he was just wondering where he could be because this place was definitely unfamiliar, he never heard or saw anyone feeling sorry for another, so in his mind, he was in another city or in a country far from the metropolis, a place with many rednecks, as they were the only ones he thought would still have some humanity nowadays.

Then, a woman probably noticed him and with a gasp, she said. "Hurry, call the doctor! He is awake!"

The woman came over and touched him, making him shudder and move slightly away from her with a pounding heart!

"Calm down, child, it's okay, I'm not going to hurt you. You're in a hospital." The woman spoke calmly and in a gentle voice, she tried her best not to stress the boy in front of her.

"Liar! I don't have money so how could I be in a hospital!" He shouted to the lady but facing the wrong direction since he couldn't truly know where she was.

"It is okay, don't worry about such things, this isn't the kind of hospital you are used to."

"What are you talking about-" Before he could finish his words, the sound of a door opening and people rushing inside entered his ears. "Doctor!" The woman from before exclaimed.

"Thanks for your help miss Granger, you can go rest now, you have been taking care of the child for almost 5 hours already, there is no need to overexert yourself."

She nodded and after saying goodbye to Harrison she left the place. The doctor sat down on his bed and slowly removed the blindfold. After that, Harrison could finally see who was there, the doctor was a big brown man with a well-built body and a stylish mustache, he was wearing a lab coat and had a smile on his face.

Behind him were three other people, two white men wearing suits and fedoras, and a woman he presumed to be a nurse due to her outfit.

"You seem pretty good..." The doctor said as he looked at him, and checked him up.

The two men kept looking at him while discussing something pretty quietly, and the nurse just kept smiling at him. Then, after some time the doctor stood up and turned to the men wearing suits. "Gentleman. He is fine now, and as I told you earlier, that was merely an accidental wandless magic, a reflex of the situation he was undergoing... as for how you didn't notice him before... I'm sorry, I couldn't discover the cause, perhaps Hogwarts headmaster can give you a better answer, she was taught by Hermione Granger herself so maybe she can explain."

The two suddenly sighed in relief, this made Harrison look at them with confusion, as he couldn't understand what on the doctor's words made them feel better.

The man with a scar on his face nodded and said. "Thank you, Doctor Thomas, your reputation precedes you, even if you didn't manage to discover the cause, your abjuration is truly the best in the whole world, to think you could even heal him from that near-death state in less than a week..."

"Hahaha! You're giving me too much credit... if lord Longbottom didn't make public his research on this theoretical field hundreds of years ago I would have never managed to develop this new branch of magic."

They shook each other hands while the other man shook his head, looked at his watch, and started tapping the ground with his feet as if he was in a hurry to get somewhere. The man with a scar turned to look at him and seeing the glance he was receiving he nodded and said.

"Anyway, thanks for helping us to save the child."

"Don't worry, it is my job after all." The doctor smiled and turned to look at the boy who was still confused.

"Harrison Forgrave, it is my pleasure to meet you, I hope you'll like your new life..." The doctor thought for a moment before giving him a piece of paper with a number. "If you ever need help, give me a call, oh, and before I forget you can call me James Thomas."

Harrison took the paper but didn't reply, he still had a lot of awareness in his eyes. As the doctor left, the two men gestured for the nurse to leave the room and she complied.

"Harrison Forgrave, we are from the ministry of magic, more specifically ... from the born-out wizard vigilance department."

Hearing his words, Harrison narrowed his eyes and looked at them waiting to see if they were going to start laughing or something because it looked like they were joking with him.

Seeing he didn't believe he took out his wand and with a wave, he made light appear out of nowhere and float a little bit above his head.

"WHAT IS THAT!" Harrison exclaimed he never saw such a thing before!

"That Harrison, is magic, something only a few people in the world can do... people like you."

"Then... you were actually serious about that ministry thing..." Harrison leaned against the pillow on his back and massaged his head. "So, what do you want with me."

The other man approached and answered very rapidly. "Our job is to find muggle-borns like you and take you out of the muggle world before they notice your magic."

"So you're kidnapping me?" Harrison frowned as he looked at both of them, but the man with a scar on his face slapped the back of the other man's head and said.

"No! To put it in more simple words, we came here to offer you the opportunity to become a wizard! If you don't want to we can take you back to where you live or whatever, and we will just erase your memories of these events and seal your magic in order to avoid any problems."

He took out a letter with a seal and gave it to Harrison. When he opened his eyes almost popped out of the sockets as he saw the words written in gold and in an extremely beautiful way.

HOGWARTS SCHOOL

of WITCHCRAFT and WIZARDRY

Headmistress: Rébecca Matthieu

(Order of Merlin, First Class, Grand Sorc., Chf. Warlock,

Supreme Mugwump, International Confed. of Wizards )

Dear Mr. Forgrave,

We are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

The term begins on September 1. We await your owl by no later than July 31.

Yours sincerely,

Robert Scamander

Deputy Headmaster

The two had smiles on their faces as they watched the boy reading while being flabbergasted, they were already preparing to answer his questions when he suddenly asked something that almost made them vomit blood.

"What the hell is an owl?"

They couldn't help but facepalm, they forgot that owls went extinct outside of the wizarding world...

"Ah... Well, you see, it is like a bird."

"Yeah, a big bird with big eyes... Uh, don't you have any other thing you want to ask?"

"Yes, is this free? Because I don't have money to pay."

Hearing this they sighed and the one with a scar replied. "Yes it is, you don't even have to worry about materials or uniform... after the former Minister Hermione Jean Granger changed the laws no child who came from the muggle world needs to worry about paying for studying materials."

"How does this ministry of magic works exactly?"

"Well, you could say our main job is to keep magic away from the muggle's eyes."

Harrison nodded and then he asked. "And what the fuck is this muggle thing?"

"Oh, right, you didn't know... uh... muggles are people without magic, basically."

"Then, how is this going to work, because there is like just a week till the class starts? "

The man looked at him and with a smile he replied.

"Actually, there is only one day until the class starts, you slept for almost a week."

Silence took over the place as Harrison looked at them with a frown once again. "Does that mean I can't go to this school or whatever?"

"You can, everything is prepared already. If you accept to become a wizard that is..."

Harrison gulped and shook his head. He looked at his hands and wondered whether or not this is a dream, should he go or not... As he thought about the matter another nurse entered the place, but unlike the first nurse they sent back, this one they actually bowed to.

She was a very beautiful woman, probably in her twenties, her long hair was twisted up in an elegant knot on the back of her head and it looked sleek and shiny, her skin was light and soft like that of those rich women, and both her hair and eyes had a light chestnut color.

"Please, you don't have to do that, I'm not my grandma and you guys know that."

They looked at each other and bowed once again. "We apologize miss Granger, but as her last descendent alive, we must pay our respects!"

She shook her head helplessly but didn't complain, it seemed she was used to this already. She then cast her eyes upon Harrison who blushed slightly, it wasn't that he hadn't seemed a beautiful woman before, it just that they were never so close...

"Harrison, I'm the head of the Hospital Wing at Hogwarts, I was assigned to take care of you by Headmistress Rébecca, it is a pleasure to meet you."

Harrison nodded shyly but still trying to look mainly, and for some reason, that not even he could understand he tried to make his voice more mature as he replied. "Yes. I... uh... decided to go to Hogwarts!"

"Pfft!" The two men laughed hearing his voice, it felt so artificial that they couldn't help themselves. But miss Granger only smiled gently and nodded, Harrison could only compare her to those maidens in old movies, he only felt sorry that she was so older than him.

"Well..." The man with a scar nodded and said. "Our job is done then, farewell miss Granger, Mr. Harrison."

The other guy just waved his hand like a goodbye.

"Farewell, Mr. Malfoy, and Mr. Jenkins." The man with a scar nodded after hearing his surname, Malfoy, and the other didn't even react.

And out of nowhere, they disappeared, like some sort of teleportation.

Miss Granger extended her hand and with a smile, she said, "You better close your eyes, this will make you feel a little bit dizzy."

He nodded and did as she asked, them the sounds on his surrounding became weird and stretched until he almost fell on the ground of another place, thankfully miss Granger was there to prevent him from falling.

When he opened his eyes he noticed he was in some sort of port, there were only two ships there and it seemed to be those you would expect to see in a movie about pirates in the 18th century. They were warships with 54 cannons on each broadside. And in front of them, painted with golden words was the name of the ship "La Dama Negra", and the other one which was behind, and was equally big was called "HMS Prince" and it looked like a ghost ship because of the heavy fog surrounding it.

"What is this?" Harrison asked with surprise and some excitement on his voice.

"This my little friend is how we are going to travel to Hogwarts, ever since the third world war in 2036 we have been using this method..."

"Why? What changed in 2036?"

"We actually had our own locomotive at the original king's cross station, it was at platform 9¾, but London was completely destroyed, now we have this place hidden from muggle eyes, that only we can access. We call it New London 9¾ port like some sort of homage."

Harrison nodded and asked. "Then, where are we now?"

"We are in Portishead, Bristol."

Hearing this he gulped and looked at her with wide eyes. Seeing his astonishment she laughed and said. "Don't worry, the thing about radiation is fake, we forged it in order to have a city hidden from the muggles, since the place was hit more than once by nuclear bombs and we cleared it by ourselves, I think it is a fair trade. Besides, we even took the work of finding out the identity of every single person who died here and we built a memorial for them, after giving their relatives anything that might have survived the war..."

Harrison nodded and got a little bit scared, now he could more or less understand how powerful wizards are, to even do all of that in front of people's nose without anyone noticing, they are really capable...
