16 Just Like A Good Pet.

You see I find it very useful to act surprised and unbelieving of such possibilities because when someone sees you bewildered over a possibility of a crime of betrayal or to put it in simple words; when someone's hurt by their own beloved, like a father killing his own child or a fiancé murdered brutally by their own soon to spouse; they immediately make up a image of you in their mind where they believe you to be the epitome of innocence since you can't even comprehend the prospect of these heinous crimes being committed.

Henceforth, excluding you completely from any present or future doubts. Can't tell how much of this it's working on this guy, though. I know, I know, I said I could read him like the back of my hand but there's a limit to what even I can do; curse the flaw of my humanly body.

He raised an eyebrow, "What world are you living in Mr. Zoldyck? Some don't even spare their own damn children; to be surprised of a man killing his fiancée; especially someone like Fredrick Fecinelli? I say it must be a nice a place."

I guess the technique only works on old ladies, didn't hurt to try though.

"What do you mean 'a man like Fecinelli? Is there something I should know about him?" I asked.

"Just that, you really should run some background checks on who you decide to do business with. It may come in handy. Like knowing how Fredrick Fecinelli is a part of Italy's biggest mafia that run businesses to launder all their black money."

"What?!" I looked at him with disbelieve and utter shock in my eyes and a bit of anger.

"If the damn police already know so much about it, then why haven't you caught them already?" I asked slightly angry.

"Not as easy as it looks, first we need a proof to even start up an investigation and secondly even if we manage to do that, our country doesn't have extradition rights with his, and since he hasn't done any crime on the American soil, -none that we have a proof of- there's only so much we can do." He shoved his hands in his pants pockets while I came to join him in the lounge.

"That being said; there might be a real chance to finally catch him this time." He said with a different spark of hope in his eyes and a hint of enthusiasm in voice.

"Because this time he's committed a crime in the USA; murder of Jenna Deniro", that's the line I said whilst looking him in the eye nodding my head slowly. He nodded as well a solemn but appreciative look. Look at us, two great minds working together. Appears to be the beginning of a legendary friendship.

Nah! I don't like keeping many friends. They get to nosy and demanding after a time, just girlfriends. You keep giving them girlie shit and they keep quiet. Just like a good pet.
