2 A Friend's Care (Netflix)

Growl!, "this is the third time I am hearing your stomach making those sounds, aren't you going to eat ? ". Emily, my best friend, and roommate asked.

"I am, just give me a minute. I am looking through the criteria for the nanny job ", I replied.

"Yeah... sure, take your time or maybe you can even take the whole day", she said sounding vexed.

"Sorry, don't be angry let me round up quickly and I will join you immediately".

Emily nodded before leaving me to go set the tables.

( a few seconds later)

" Just look at what I saw", I shouted.

" Do you want me to go deaf? , I can hear you clearly from the kitchen", Emily said - annoyed.

" I am sorry, It's just that I saw an advert stating that the Armando family needed a nanny ", I said while pouting.

"That is fake, do you think a family like the Armando's will lack nannies or helpers at home?". Emily asked while staring at me.

"Hey!, don't crush my tiny string of hope".

" Believe what you want, but even though you apply do you think you will be chosen ?. You are not like those international or highly certified nannies that work for important people, so dear do not put your hope too high." Emily advised,

"but if you do not try, how would you know". I said trying to convince Emily.

Ever since Emily and Nadia were in the orphanage, they had been like magnets and metal together even though their characters contrast like oil and water.

Emily was known for her bold and courageous personality, while Nadia was known for being shy and timid leading to her usually being often bullied while being in the orphanage.

During this period, Nadia and Emily usually became close friends because she always defended her in the face of her bullies.

Emily's personality was the reason for her odd behavior, she knew her place and rarely wanted to be around rude rich people. That was why ideas like this were always turned down by Emily.

Even when people who were dressed in rich attires came to the orphanage for adoption and saw Emily, she bluntly rejected them telling them she wasn't interested in living in a rich family.

" I already told you that it's fake, but I do not discourage you to try but do not involve me ". Emily said sternly.

"Yes... miss bossy pants", I replied before she closed my computer and I followed behind her.

Unbeknownst to Nadia, the system auto-sent her details on the website to Armando's database.

"Wow the food is so good," I said while eating.

"yeah...yeah thanks"

"but don't get your hopes too high cause mine is still better", I replied

" So narcissistic", Emily replied smiling.

"so... whataboutjake ", I asked quickly,

"Hmm," Emily asked while raising her head,

" I was asking about Jake are you and him together or you are both still giving each other some space ".

"It's more like him giving me some space so that he can continue his player antics, and I think it's high time we broke up", Emily said to me.

"Do you think he is going to accept the out-of-a-blue breakup, why don't you talk to him and try to sort things out since you have both been in a relationship for a long time", I advised.

" I cannot sort things out with him and besides we are both mature adults, we both know that the relationship isn't working it's kinda like we have fallen out of love. So let's stop talking about him it makes me angry ".

" Um... ok".

Their love was matter-of-factly the best she had ever seen, but as time passed they grew tired of their love. This was something she had never imagined to happen.

When they were together she was always envious and wishing she could find her MR right, but seeing the once blossoming relationship withering she fell at a loss for her own love life.

"It's five already aren't you going to be late for your shift ",

"nope I don't have work today, I am on leave Cassie is working a double shift for me," Emily said unconcernedly

"Such a lazy ass taking a leave so you can stay at home, just so you know I am not paying the bills of next month for you again", I said grudgingly.

"No sweetie, it's so I can stay at home with you today, watch Netflix, and chill", said Emily while she pinched my cheeks making me giggle.

"So let's start this Netflix party whoop! whoop!"'

"it's not a party so stop cheering and go order pizza" Emily ordered.

"Okay...okay I'm going your broke 'highness' ", I said 'respectfully' causing both of us to laugh.

"The pizza is going to be here soon so start choosing the film and do not choose any horror movie like last time,".

"Ok scaredy-cat, I got it" Emily replied.

"The pizza guy is here", Emily shouted

"Okay, I'm coming".

Nadia opened the door and saw a teenage boy with chubby cheeks and big brown round eyes. Still captivated by the youngster's cute looks, she did not notice him staring at her weirdly before smiling at her showing her his dimples.

"Miss you are so beautiful, can I know your name please", the boy asked cutely that not even hades himself could reject his offer.

" It's Nadia", I replied, collecting the pizza from him, and giving him a huge tip before going back inside.

"Don't you think it's weird?",

"what's weird?", I asked.

"A teenager hitting on a woman almost twice his age and didn't you see the way he was staring at you. You can't tell me you didn't notice it, I saw it.

"He is just a little kid so stop thinking rubbish, and besides he was just asking for my name what harm is there in it". I replied while opening the pizza box.

"Ok, I have already chosen the movie",

"Which is it"? , I asked

" It's 'all of us are dead'.

The two friends cozy up on the chair watching, the Netflix series unbeknownst of the storm heading their way.
