''Duke Hayes,'' A nobleman respectfully greeted Dante as he walked to the path of the throne room where only the emperor's coronations and an audience with him takes place.

Dante slightly nodded at the nobleman without halting his steps in the ever glossy hallways.

''I did not expect someone like him to cheat on the duchess hayes,'' He almost stopped at the nobleman's murmur, but managed to hold himself from doing anything unnecessary. It wasn't like he did not prepare himself for the rumors and gossips that would surround his affair with annalise.

Upon getting to the polished double doors with a knight on each side, Dante exhaled deeply to remove unwanted thoughts. Just as he was about to signal the knight, the door to the throne room opened and someone he did not expect to see stepped out in his sight.
