11 Chapter 11 A man that treasured her

A week passed, with Tang Ning getting used to her job and so far everything was moving on smoothly. It was finally weekend where Ms Fang was supposed to leave the house. After seeing her off, the three walked back inside the house when the car in which Ms Fang was left the residence.

"Aunt Ning, you promised to teach me how to cook," Juan reminded her. "Oh yes. Let's head to the kitchen and I teach you," she replied.

"I want too," said little Huan excitedly as she followed them.

Sitting them at the counter, she prepared the ingredients as they watched her.

"So, we're going to start. Are you ready?" she asked. "Yes," replied Juan as Huan nodded her head.

As she cooked, Juan was watching every step with keen eyes as if wanting to master them in his head. After the cooking, they tasted the food and it was yummy. "I want to keep some for Daddy," said little Huan.

Tang Ning placed some food in the bowl and said," You will give him this."

After the cooking, little Huan proposed that the three should play hide and seek. "You know that you will easily win against me because am not well versed with the house," said Tang Ning. "Is pretty auntie being a coward because she knows that young children like us will easily win against her?" asked Huan and Tang Ning raised her eyebrows. "Are you challenging me?" she asked placing her hands on her waist. "Yes we are," answered Juan.

"Alright then. Let's play," she accepted. "Yay! Close your eyes," instructed little Huan and Tang Ning did as told then she said," I'm going to count to five and after, I will open my eyes." "En," she heard them reply.

After a count of five, she opened her eyes to see that they had already gone. She smiled and took the stairs, sure that she had heard one climbing them.

The first places she checked were their rooms and she didn't find them there. "Just as the smart kids they are," she mumbled as she left Juan's room and walked in the corridor.

She reached the next room which she very well knew that was their father's and she knew that they couldn't be there. Reaching the next room, she realized that the doors were bigger and it seemed to be larger than all the rooms she had ever come across in the house.

Turning the knob, the door opened and she peeked inside to see that it was dark.

"They must be here," she mumbled as her hand searched for where to switch on the lights of the room. When she switched them on, she turned around to look into the room and she gasped. She caught sight of several pictures of a woman and that instant, she knew that it was the twins' mother. She looked exactly like little Huan and what attracted her the most was the woman's smile. It looked so pure and innocent. Just by mere looking at the pictures, she could tell that she had a pure soul and she noticed that no woman would ever take the woman's place. She looked at all of them where she saw Mr Jing Yue and her in some and she realized that the two were a match made in heaven. They looked so perfect together.

There was also one in which she was with a beautiful woman and she wondered if they were sisters but they had no resemblance.

As curious as she was, she walked towards the closet where she caught sight of several expensive clothes, bags, shoes, jewelry lined up and she knew that they were for the woman. She could tell how Mr Jing Yue was head over heels for his wife. It took a man in love to keep such things for his wife after this long. She left the closet and walked back to the room, as she looked more at the pictures. She wondered if she would ever find a love like this, where a man treasured her. "Miss?" she heard a voice and snapped to look at the door. She saw a maid who stepped inside. "What are you doing here?" she asked looking at her suspiciously.

"N-nothing. We are playing hide and seek with the twins and I came here thinking that I might find them inside," she explained.

"Really?" she asked not looking convinced.

"Absolutely," she replied. "Let me tell you, if the young master finds out that you came here, you might lose your job," she said.

"I'm so sorry. I didn't have any idea that this place was forbidden." "You better be. Get out of here now," she said and Tang Ning immediately left the room before the maid closed it.

As she continued walking around, she just prayed the maid doesn't tattletale on how she entered the room because she didn't want to get into any trouble with her boss. Failing to see them, she descended the stairs and searched downwards. As she walked towards the area she had never reached before, she found an object that was covered with a white cloth and before she could pass by, she caught sight of something and she smiled at herself.

Little Huan's dress was peeking and she walked around before she saw the both of them squatting down. " I found you!"

Huan giggled and she stood up before Juan followed suit. "It took you sometime to get to us, isn't it?" she asked. "Yes. I was roaming upstairs," she replied before asking," What is covered here?"

"It's Daddy's piano," replied Juan and Tang Ning's eyes lit up. She had always loved pianos and she was a great singer in high school. She slightly opened the cloth to see a shiny black piano and she longed to press the keys.

"Can you play it?" asked Juan. "Yes. We should get out of here. Your father might not like to see us here," she told them.

"Will you play for us one day?" asked Little Huan as she walked with her. "Yes," she promised as she took them away.
