"Urrghh," Tang Ning frustratedly mumbled when the irritating sound of the alarm persisted. She finally opened her eyes groggily and covered her mouth before yawning. Looking at the alarm clock, her eyes widened and the little sleep she had quickly disappeared. She kicked her covers and jumped off the bed before running to the bathroom.

Brushing her teeth hurriedly, she took a quick bath before changing in her usual sweater pants and shirt attire.

Leaving her room, she rushed to the kitchen to prepare breakfast. As she was in the middle of cooking, her sister came and removed the pancakes she had made.

Tang Ning looked at her sister and said," Good morning. You're dressed up. Where are you going?" "Somewhere," Tang Moyu replied as she matched to make some tea for herself. "What do you mean by somewhere? You very well know that I'm not around today," said Ning. "And I am not around today too," she replied. "Moyu, I'm going to the pharmacy to get father's medicine and from there, I'm going for a job interview. Who is going to remain taking care of father when we both leave?" "Jeez, I hate when others tell me what to do!" Moyu hissed as she left the kitchen.

...

The Tangs are a family of three. Tang Ning and Tang Moyu are sisters, where the latter is the elder one. They lost their mother during the process of giving birth to Tang Ning and the two were brought up by their father, Tang Rong.

When Tang Ning was done with making breakfast, she organized it on a tray and took it towards her father's bedroom. Reaching the door, she pushed it with her leg and it opened. She got in and found him sitting on the bed while reading newspapers and he placed them down when he saw her.

"Good morning Ning Ning," he greeted and she smiled before replying," Good morning father. How was your night?" "Good. I slept so soundly," he replied as she placed the tray besides him. "You're such a liar. You have dark circles," she pointed at them. "I sometimes forget that you know me too well," he spoke as he got the chopsticks to dig in the noodles. "I'm going to the pharmacy to get your medicine," she informed him.

"But where shall we get the money to take care of us if you spend it on my medicine? You just lost your job," he said. "You don't have to worry about a thing father. I got another job opportunity and I was hoping to go and do the interview today." "But, I hate seeing only you struggling to put food on the table. Your elder sister should help you too," he said. "Let her be father. I don't want to argue with her," she replied leaning against the wall, as she watched him eat.

"Have you eaten already?" he asked. "I will eat after you," she replied. "Where's she?" he asked.

"She told me that she was heading somewhere. She didn't specify," she answered. He sighed and said," Sometimes I feel like I have not done enough as a parent in bringing her up." "You don't have to feel that way because you're the best father in the whole world," she told him.

"You're probably the only one who can think that way. I'm stuck up in the bed leaving all the house responsibilities to you," he said. "It's because you're sick," she replied and when she looked at the wall clock, she realized that she was running late. "Father, I have to leave now. Will you be alright by yourself?"

"Go ahead. Don't worry about me," he told her.

"Alright. I will pass by the restaurant and tell them to deliver your lunch. Call me in case of anything," she said before leaving.

On leaving her father's room, Tang Ning left the house and decided that she was going to walk towards the pharmacy since it was not that far. She had just lost her job at the cafeteria simply because she refused to agree to her boss's immoral requests. From a friend of hers, she was informed that there was an opportunity where a nanny was needed and she decided to give it a try since the pay was good.

Reaching the pharmacy, she bought her father's medicine and safely stored it in her purse. When she came out, she realized that there was still some time before she could head to the address of the job interview. She then decided to check the Mall that was a few blocks away and see whether she could get a cheaper gift for her father's upcoming birthday.

Stepping inside the Mall, she walked heading towards the men's section but on her way, she caught sight of a beautiful little girl who was wearing a pink princess dress with her hair tied into two pigtails on either sides of her head with pink ribbons. She looked to be around four years of age. What attracted her the most was that she was standing alone and she was crying.

Tang Ning walked towards the girl and when she reached her, she squatted down to reach her level. "How are you baby," she said with a smile and the girl looked at her with her large teary eyes. "What is your name?" she asked her.

The girl shook her head and said," My daddy refused me to talk to strangers." "He is right about that. Where are your parents?" she asked and she shook her head. "Okay. Why don't you tell me why you're crying and I see if I can help you," said Tang Ning.

Hesitantly the girl said,"I can't find the way to mytw brother and nanny." "It is alright little one. Tell me where you left them." "I left them buying toys for my twin brother," she replied and Tang Ning nodded.

"I will help you find them. Let's go," she said getting up.
