"D-dad... I--" Elaine did not finish her explanation when Mr. Houston slapped her. Everybody including Corry was surprised by what happened.

Mr. Houston was so furious with his daughter. Who wouldn't be? Her daughter bought a dress that was worth more than their family's wealth.

"Did you know what you did?!" Mr. Houston asked in anger.

"Dad! It is not me! It is Elisha's fault. She is the one who forced me to buy the dress! It is her fault!" Elaine said and cried. She was already humiliated by Elisha at the store and now... She received another humiliation in front of her parents and Corry.

"Elisha already caused trouble! And now your next?" Mr. Houston was about to slap Elaine for a second time when Matilda stopped her husband.

"Stop it, this is not her fault! It is clearly Elisha, that bastard!" Matilda hugged her daughter to protect her from Mr. Houston.
