9 Narcissistic And Proud

"They were like parallel lines,

close but never together."

Waking up covered in sweat as your heart beats loudly inside your chest is such a horrible feeling. The feeling of emptiness overcomes you and you feel a powerful amount of fear.

That's how I woke up this morning, so many emotions crashing down onto me in such a short period of time.

I had to turn to see Isabella's empty bed twice just to make sure she hadn't seen anything even after knowing she wasn't there.

As I walked towards the campus, I turned around every now and then to make sure nobody was following me or even looking my way. I had a weird feeling I was being watched as I walked.

Shaking my head to try and calm myself as it may as well be the scare of this morning.

Looking ahead I caught sight of Veronica and the same ginger with jade eyes next to her as they both looked down at the ground.

In front of them stood the girl who wanted to 'warn me' last week about Jayden, truthfully I don't remember her name.

I think it started with an E? No wait, a T? Oh, an H! Yeah, an H! Was it maybe Harlow? Hallow? Harvey? Hannah? Whatever her name doesn't matter.

Coming to a stop behind the girl I heard her say,

"You two are some ugly freaks that I would much rather not see this early in the morning, wouldn't want to have a heart attack," the insecure hazel eyed girl laughed to herself.

"Could say the same about you, I mean with the smudged eyeliner and the tossed on dress I would say you look like a wet rat," I commented with a smirk as I rounded to get in her line of sight.

A high pitched gasp escaped the black haired girl as she turned her attention to me, "You can't talk. Says the one with zero sense of fashion!"

I shrugged nonchalantly, "At least I have some common sense and my dignity," I told her, "Unlike you, whose doing the walk of shame right about now,"

Her mouth opened to retort but I cut her off,

"What? Where you coming from the guy's dorm building because if so hopefully he kicked you out himself, wouldn't want to see that," I motioned to her appearance, "this early in the morning, poor guy probably had a heart attack," I passed her a tight smile as I copied her same words.

Stomping her bare foot as she had her heels on one hand, she pointed a finger at me with the other, "You're insufferable!"

Speed walking past me, she purposely bumped her shoulder with my own. Stopping midway she looked over her shoulder, "Just so you know, the poor guy you were talking about was Jayden,"

And just like that she followed her route to the girls dorm building as I rolled my eyes at her retreating form.

Was that supposed to mean something?

Jayden can do whatever he wants with whoever he likes, I don't have a say in his life. I may be in it, but I'm not one to decide for him.

I do still have a tiny crush on him, but as I said, I can't get hurt and I won't get hurt by a guy who's always liked tossing girls around like rag dolls.

"Thank you," a voice said in appreciation making me look to where it came from.

"No problem Vero," I smiled over at the blonde in front of me, "she's a bitch."

"Tell me about it," Veronica muttered under her breath, sighing.

"I think I'm in love," looking at the ginger, he was already looking at me in awe, "You're both beautiful and brave."

"Brave?" I laughed.

"Yeah, no one has ever stood up for us, I mean not even us," he rambled seeming to think really hard as he looked down at the ground.

Cackling over at the nervous boy in front of me, the blue eyed beauty next to him spoke up, "This is my twin brother, Wesley."

"Oh yeah, did I forget to mention yesterday that I met a gorgeous girl who actually wanted to be my friend. If not then this is the gorgeous girl I was talking about," Wesley informed his twin which now that I looked closely I could see the resemblance.

Apart from the hair color difference, eye color and the gender, they both had freckles, the ginger carried them much more visible than the blonde since the first time I met her I didn't even notice them.

The small noses were also a match, just like the features which were delicate to their faces it added to their innocence.

The way they dressed was conservative, which I could tell they had the same sense of style by the way the both of them had a white dress shirt peaking from under the green and blue sweaters they were both wearing.

The blue sweater making the blond's eyes pop while the green one the ginger wore was making his eyes become even more greener than before. And if it was even possible they're height was the exact same which was astonishing.

"Ah, so you're the girl he couldn't stop talking about," Veronica teased, wiggling her eyebrows my way.

"I guess I always leave a good first impression," I shrugged, letting a small laugh.

"Wouldn't get past it," Wesley agreed to my playful comment taking it too seriously.

"Wes, stop acting so weird," Veronica scrunched up her nose, "you're going to scare Blair away."

"Oh trust me, I'm used to it," I brushed it off, a smug smirk rising on my face as Veronica shook her head at my cockiness.

"I see someone's a narcissist," she rolled her eyes with a smile on her face.

"Narcissistic and proud," wiping away an imaginary tear, both the blond and I bursted out laughing not being able to resist the urge and soon the ginger joined.

I knew we would be great friends, they seemed like a couple of nice twins, who were too polite for their well being, but it's refreshing.

"Well then Blair, since we're now friends and all how about we catch up with coffee?" Wesley stopped his laughter, looking intently in my direction.

"Wesley Moore, are you asking me on a date?" I questioned playfully, raising and accusing eyebrow his way with a hand on my hip.

The ginger's pale complexion quickly turned into a red mess as his eyes widened and he shook his head frantically, "What?! No! I just-!"

"Am I out of your league?" I asked, feigning hurt, "I thought you liked me," putting a hand over my heart I dramatically looked away.

"If anything you're out of my league! And I do like you!" He exclaimed, rushing it all out, as if barely realizing my dramatics he gave me a deadpan look,

"Was that sarcasm I just witnessed?"

"Was it?" I acted as if I was confused as to what he was saying. Were his accusations true or false? Only my acting skills will be the judges to that.

"You're mean, you know that right," he shoved me lightly as he squinted his eyes my way.

Veronica laughed at the interaction between her brother and I. I could sense the two were warming up to me faster than expected, their shyness was nowhere to be seen when they were around me anymore.

"Well maybe we should start helping you form some confidence in yourself," I told him hearing Veronica laugh at her twin's horror, I said, "Don't think you're out of this, it goes for you too."

At my words the both of them slouched down in defeat. I had just barely realized that my class was about to start in a couple of minutes, bidding my goodbyes to the Moore's I moved towards the school building already feeling tired and sleepless.

Sitting in my regular seat, I found the spot next to me empty, frowning at the fact that Daniela was yet to come my frown quickly turned into a scowl as a mop of blonde hair sat there.

"What do you want Angelique," I growled, tired of today's happenings. I mean I had already dealt with a bitch this morning no need for another one.

"Saw you sitting here all alone and thought I could keep you company," she pouted, "Am I not wanted here?"

Rolling my eyes at her sarcasm I said, "Cut to the chase, I don't have all day."

Her brown eyes made their way up her eyelids before they landed on me as she gave me a shit eating grin, "Guess who I bumped into this fine morning," she chirped.

Making no move to answer or tell her to go on, she continued not dropping the grin, but before she could I exclaimed, "Wait! No! Don't tell me! Was it one of your many one night stands who wanted to tell you that his STD test came back positive?!"

Placing both hands on either side of my mouth, I opened it ajar as I stared at her in fake shock, "I told you to stop sleeping around."

People turned to look at us or her to be more exact, in horror and some others in amusement her little posse being the only ones who glared my way.

"Haha funny," she replied loud enough for people to hear, "You've always been the jokester," pushing me rather harshly, I had to hold onto the bottom of the chair so I wouldn't fall out of it.

Scrunching up my eyebrows I looked at her as if she had grown another head, "How would you know? We barely met this year?"

Adding to my dramatics I gasped, "OMG! Have you been stalking me!"

"What?! No!" The girl sitting next to me was frantic as she looked at me, "Just stop it!"

"But-" I began, but she put her filthy hands over my lips to keep them shut, looking cross eyed at them I made the move to bite down her hand.

Unfortunately for me she realized what my intentions were and she quickly pointed an a cussing finger my way,

"Don't you dare try to bite me ever again!"

"Are you saying this is going to be a regular thing?" I said in a sing song voice.

"Of course not! Whatever! As I was saying before you rudely interrupted me, I actually bumped into the beautiful man that is Elijah, with his tanned skin and dreamy grey eyes," the girl sitting in my friend's seat sighed with a hand sustaining her head in place on the table.

A shiver of disgust ran through my body as the blonde next to me ranted about how hot he was and what she would do to him.

All I could think of was, Ew!

Could this day get any worse!

Looking down at the ground before me I prayed it would swallow me whole and never let me out, it would be much more better than hearing the perverted things this girl had in mind for my brother.

"Okay! Okay! Can you just get to it!"

"What a loser," the brown eyed muttered, a forced smile crawled up her face as she said, "Well we actually talked and-"

"You actually talked?! To a guy! Like you actually had a real conversation!" I clapped my hands, "I'm proud of you."

"Ugh, can you let me talk!" She screeched, scowling her way she took it as her opportunity to speak, "As I was saying, he told me you and him never went on a date."

The smug smile was back onto the barbie's face and it grew wider at my next question, "And how exactly are you too sure, I mean he could have thought I was anyone."

A smirk etched itself onto my face until she replied, "I showed him a picture of you," she shrugged.

"How did you-? Why did-? When did you-? What the heck?!" I was quite confused and impressed at the same time as to how she had managed to snatch a photo of me, I mean I haven't taken any pictures of myself in this attire.

"I have my connections," she raised an eyebrow, tilting her head to the side.

Turning my attention to the two girls at the far back realization hit me like a truck, "When you say connections, do you mean your two little followers?"

"First of all, they are not my followers! Second of all, that doesn't matter okay, all that matters is that I was right. A guy like him would never go for a girl like you."

A guy like him? Seriously? See, stereotypes.

"Come again?"

"You heard me, you're everything a guy doesn't look for in a girl. If you want the attention you much crave you should maybe think of changing," the girl stopped to analyze me, "everything."

Standing up from the seat she retreated back to her corner where her followers were waiting for her arrival while I stayed in place dumbstruck.

Was this the way I looked down at other people? If so, I regret ever making them feel so... insecure.

I mean I wasn't feeling insecure right about now, but for a millisecond I actually considered her words and I felt them sink deep until reality dawned upon me and I shook the idea of her words hurting me.

Trust me, I truthfully don't know what I was thinking that day at the library, when I thought laughing at her face and trying to deflate her ego was a good idea.

Why couldn't I keep it to myself and look away, ignore them, move on with my life. I didn't have to prove myself to them and I sure as hell didn't have the right to eavesdrop in other people's conversations.

Who was I to judge, I was just like them in my freshman year of high school, that was before I met my best friend.

I'm sure when they meet the person who makes them sane, that is if there is a person out there willing to help them than they'll soon realize all their wrong doings were just that, wrong.

I was so deep into my thoughts that I hadn't realized the brown eyed girl, sit in the same chair blondie was sitting just a couple minutes ago.

"Hello love, what's got your pretty little head thinking so hard?" Startled by the voice, I looked towards the girl making her eyes widened as she took in my appearance,

"Scratch that, you look as if you just got out of 'The Walking Dead'," she grimaced just as the sight of me, "looks like someone didn't get a good nights sleep."

"Didn't get the time with all the studying I did," I lied through my teeth.

Willow gave me a concerned look before a grin sobered her face, "Sounds like a you problem."

"Okay, okay, I think that's enough disrespect for a day," I growled at her, both of her pale hands shot up in a surrender manner after my accusation.

Finally realizing who sat next to me, I gave her a questioning look, "What are you doing here exactly?"

"I go here," her voice came out in a duh tone as if it was the most obvious thing which didn't explain the real reason why I asked the question.

"You know what I meant," I glare at her.

"No I do not know what you meant," the smirk on her face said otherwise, and if the way her eyes shined in amusement at my rage wasn't a give away, I don't know what was.

Not seeming to drop my glare, she gave out a sigh as she slumped in the seat, prompting her legs onto the desk in front her.

"Alright, alright. I got bored and decided to change my class so I could be in the same one as both Daniela and you, seems like you two know the meaning of fun in this class," she shrugged,

"Mrs. Harlow did not know the meaning of fun, I mean the way that old lady speaks, it was going to be the cause of my death. I could already imagine it.

Student in college, Willow Samuels died this morning due to the extreme boredom her History teacher caused her-"

Brown eyes looked ahead as if looking ahead of time and seeing the future, her hands even moved as she talked making it more animatedly.

A laugh rumbled at the pit of my stomach just at her hearing her words tumble out of her mouth, she was the most randomness girl I've ever met.

At hearing my laughter her gaze turned to me, covering my lips with my hand I said, "Go on, don't let me be the one to stop you and your creative mind."

"Creative mind?!" She exclaimed, "I'm not joking, I swear that women talks so slowly that you sure can't lose a word she is saying, but you can sleep through it."

"Yeah well I didn't know you had a thing for English."

"That's because I don't," Willow said in distaste, "I'm doing this for you girls."

"But you said you were-" before I could continue, Willow placed a finger on my lips to shut me up.

What is it with people and putting their hands on my mouth?

"Drop it Blair," she demanded with a pointed look making me copy her earlier motions as I lifted my hands up playfully.

With two fingers to my forehead I saluted her way, "Sir, yes, sir."

"It's commander Samuels to you," she told me, a smirk trying so hard not to escape and before we knew it, we bursted it out laughing.

These girls are actually quite fun to be around.
