Beast took over

Dominic chuckled at her words. Wasn't she the one who would love what he did just now? he thought.

Ava frowned when she saw him walking toward her. He just brushed her words as if she didn't speak anything, and he didn't hear anything.

"Did you hear me...??" she moved back when he took one step towards her.

"I did.." his lips curved into a devilish smile, looking at her moving back from him.

The more he came close to her, the more she moved back until her back collided with the wall.

Dominic smirked at his win as he caged her in between his arm," Wife... did you forget that you were the one who was loving my work a while ago" he teased her, reminding her about the intense scene that would have happened if she had not pushed him.

"W-who was enjoying...stop daydreaming" she tried to push him again, but the strong man didn't budge even an inch, standing rooted on his spot.

Dominic watched her trying to free herself, but he only tightened his hold on her, not letting her get success in escaping his grip.

"Leave me.." she struggles to release herself from his stronghold, but this man only tightens his grip on her.

"No.. first tell me you like what I did earlier," he smirked, making her angrier.

He knew she would get annoyed if he teased her, but he couldn't help but tease this little kitten who was throwing a dagger at him. But her bad luck was just a fragile woman who was now in prison in the wolf's cage...

"Are you out of your mind.. why would I say that.." she tried pushing him but soon gave up when she couldn't make him move even a little bit.

"Why?? what's wrong in speaking your mind" he said.

Ava was looking at him, studying his facial expression. When she agreed to marry him, this man didn't show his temper, not for a second.

No one would believe her if she told them how this man attacked the villagers piercing his claws in their flesh and tearing them apart. And look at him now, did he forget who he was...

"Do you like my face so much that you want to keep looking at it" he went to cup her face when he saw her gazing at him without blinking.

Ava pushed his hand back when she saw him trying to touch her.

"In your dreams. I would never want to keep watching a beast like you" as soon as the words left her mouth.. his smile disappeared.

Dominic gritted his teeth, clutching his jaw, trying to control his anger. His beast tried taking control of his mind making him more monstrous. He tried to be lenient with her earlier, but her words had hurt his beast, and now it was angry.

"Why would you say that?" his grip on her hand tightened as his anger reached his limit.

Ava felt she would break her arm if he didn't lose his hold. She felt the ache as he went on, gripping it too tight and making her cry in pain.

"Leave.... you're hurting me," she begged him to let her go, but the man seemed to be possessed by some unknown force, not even listening to her plea.

Dominic's greenish eyes turned red as the beast took control of his sanity, completely controlling his body. He huffed in anger as he twisted her hand, making her growl in pain.

"You need to be punished," he muttered as he twisted her arm. If she had been obedient, his beast would have loved her company. But she disobeyed him by saying that heartless word, and now she needed to teach some manners.

Ava thought her throat was losing its voice. The way he looked at her like a manic made clear to her that he was himself, which scared her.

"Dominic.... leave me.." she screamed, breaking the spell on him and bringing him back to his usual self. His red eyes turn back to his normal green ones pulling him back to his authentic self.

Ava's voice tamed the beast that took over his mind and body as his hold on her hand loosened. The sudden change in his demeanor made her relieved. He was brought back as his eyes fluttered, watching her devastated face. His eyes looked at the hand that held her arm. After getting in his sense, he immediately let go of his hold on her.

Dominic was shocked by his behavior. He didn't mean to let his mind waver. He took a few steps back, wiping the sweat buds on his forehead.

"S-Sorry. I didn't mean to hurt you.." he watched her squatting down as if her body didn't have the strength to stand.

His eyes traveled from her teary face to her disheveled clothes and stopped at her arm, looking at the mark he had just given her. His beast would have strangled her by breaking her arm if he had not pulled back.

He cursed inwardly to let the beast take control of his mind making him lose the sense to think straight and look at whom he was hurting. He tried to take a step to help her, but she moved back.

Dominic wanted to hold her, pulling them into his embrace, but he stopped when he saw her getting scared by his step. He didn't want this to happen. He felt a pang in his heart when he watched her move back from him in fear.

Without waiting a second, he strode out of the room, leaving her alone.

Ava kept holding her hand as the pain she felt was getting intense the more she touched it. She had never encountered such a scary scene in her entire life. The rumor she heard we proper earlier she didn't believe it but now she had witnessed it with her own eyes. Her hand felt numb by the mighty grip that it was barely moving.

Ava managed to get up with the help of her other hand as she held the wall and stood up. She slowly walked to the bed and sat thinking about the scene a while ago.

"How did his eyes change so fierce" she muttered and then looked at her hand. The mark on his fingers was visible as it turned blue with every second swelling the bruised area.

"I need to treat it before it gets worse," she said and got up to find someone who would bring her a pack of ice to reduce the swelling.

But before she could walk to the door, a maid knocked and entered the room with the ice pack in her hand.

"Your highness, his highness asked me to help with the bruise" the maid came in and stood in front of her.

Ava looked at the woman of her exact age, bowing down and giving her the respect forced on her.

"What's your name?" she asked, trying to make the atmosphere in the room normal. She was never used to getting such royal treatment, which bothered her.

The more she heard them giving her respect, the more she cursed her fate.

"Agatha..." the maid replied without looking up.

Ava thought she was shy to talk to her, or there must be specific rules for servants here to follow.

"Agatha leaves the pack on the side table. I will use it on my own" Ava didn't like anyone touching her. She had grown up doing her work rather than taking anyone's help. And now, instead of taking her help, she would like to be alone and treat her swelling.

"You may leave," she ordered.

Agatha kept the ice pack on the table and left the room, giving her the space she asked for.

Ava kept the ice pack in her hand as her mind kept thinking about her father. She had never left her father alone. He would always accompany her whenever Ava went to treat any person in the village. To be with her father, she studied medicine to help him with his work. Though she was not fully educated, she had basic knowledge to treat a person.

"Father, how will you manage everything on your own" she whispered, placing her palm on her chest as she felt pain remembering her father's guilty face.

If he was not pressured by his power, she would have been with her father, helping him heal the people.

She stood up and walked near the window opening it wide. Her eyes went to look at the dark sky with only a few stars above. How did her life change all of a sudden? Why was she asked to take a decision which she didn't want to?

Ava kept looking at the sky as her mind drifted to when she met the person she didn't think she would meet.

Two months ago,

Ava had gone to treat a person in the neighboring village. Her father was not well, so he had asked her to go and treat the person. She had been out for a whole day as the person took time to recuperate on the medicine she gave him. After making sure the man was okay, she left the patient and traveled back home.

She didn't think her day to get even hard when it started pouring heavily, making her halt in a deserted forest. She went to take shelter under a tree, silently praying for the rain to reduce a little till she reached her home safely. But the weather told her otherwise. Instead of stopping, it started raining heavily.

Ava didn't have any means of the source to reach back home as she was stuck in the remote area where they didn't use any carriage to travel.

"Ava, the rain is not going to stop. Brace yourself and start walking before it takes too late for you to reach the village" saying this, she put her bang on her head and started walking when she heard a growling sound coming from the bushes.

Her steps halted as fear crept into her heart, thinking about some wild animal following her behind.

"Don't stop! What if some wild animal is waiting for his prey" she shook her head and tried to walk, but again she heard the painful groan...

"Help..." came a voice from the bush.
