Eli was still grinning to himself when they left the shop and got back into his car.

This girl was ballsy today, surprising him not only once — with that bold declaration of putting the blindfold into good use — but twice, by adding a pair of handcuffs to their purchase when he asked if she wanted to get anything for him in return. So here they were, hopping into the car with a nondescript red shopping bag containing a blindfold, handcuffs, and of course, the cupless and crotchless lingerie that he promised.

Even more surprisingly, she looked genuinely content with their trophies. From his peripheral vision, Eli saw her opening the bag again as soon as she took her seat, peeking inside with a curious fascination.

"Color me impressed, Harper." He couldn't resist an amused smile. "Never figured what you wanted to pick for me would be handcuffs. Quite some inner bossiness that you kept hidden all this time."
