A few hours had passed and Ji Haishan was in a new attire. He had asked for one of the bodyguards to help him buy new clothes because he looked unruly in his previous ones. He also wanted to shower in the private bathroom and get rid of all the sweats.

At first, the bodyguards were complacent in his request because they only followed orders from their young master. They were, after all, the exclusive bodyguards of Ji family.

But after Gao Li Bai told them to follow instructions from 'Bai Yulin', they were quite shocked. They finally realized that this beautiful model was actually very close to their young master!

Ji Haishan was sitting on a chair beside Bai Yulin who was lying unconscious on the hospital bed. There was a lot of space in the VVIP room but Ji Haishan chose not to stay too far from her.

He didn't even want to be in the couch comfortably. He didn't want to watch TV in the lounge area. He didn't want to lie down even if he was tired. He also didn't eat.

He just stared at Bai Yulin and was satisfied that she was now fine. There would be no more danger for her.

Ji Haishan let out a sigh as he held Bai Yulin's hand. He didn't know what to feel because it was his original hand he was holding. Instead, as he caressed the big, rough hand, his eyes were staring at the small one, which he was currently moving.

He stared long and hard at the small hand. It was soft, white, and alluring. Bai Yulin's original skin tone was healthy despite her not exercising healthy lifestyle. It was a wonder.

As time passed, the door was suddenly opened from outside. Ji Haishan wanted to frown because he didn't want his thoughts to be interrupted.

But before he could do that- his body froze by what he saw. In came an old man with noticable white hair, a wrinkled face, and a stern expression.

He walked slowly towards the corner of the bed and stood there, staring intently at 'Bai Yulin'. Then he spoke "So you're the one who saved my grandson.."

Ji Haishan didn't know what to do in this situation. He was clueless. His grandfather came here himself??

"No need to be so tensed, young lady." Ji Zhang said as he stared at the ashen-faced woman.

Ji Haishan was brought out of his daze when he heard his grandfather and he immediately stood up. In a very clumsy manner, he took a ninety degree bow. He didn't know how the real Bai Yulin would act if she was in this situation but he guessed she would be courteous.

"Ni- nice to meet you, gra- I mean, patriarch Ji. I'm Bai Yulin." Ji Haishan wanted to knock his head for stuttering over a simple greeting.

The old man hummed and said "Did you just about to call me grandfather?"

Ji Haishan mentally scolded himself and cursed. He didn't mean to! He always mispronounced words no matter how hard he tried to fix it!

"I- I'm sorry.. I didn't mean to-" he bowed again and apologized. Still feeling tensed.

If there was one thing Ji Haishan knew about his grandfather, then it was his distaste in people trying to be close to him even if they were strangers. So Ji Haishan was afraid that his grandfather would misunderstand 'Bai Yulin'.

Ji Zhang watched the young lady's action and manner. He found them to be amusing. He was also surprised when he saw her sitting there, looking very worried about his grandson.

Moreover, her attire was what caught his attention the most. She was wearing a simple jeans with modest XL size T-shirt. It was too big for her frame and yet it suited her so much. There was no makeup on her face. Not even a lip balm. However, her natural red cherry lips were very much inviting.

This lady was as beautiful as she was claimed to be.. he thought.

No, perhaps those talks at the town weren't doing justice to her at all. She was even more beautiful in person.

Ji Zhang scrutinized 'Bai Yulin' from head to toe. He noticed she was fidgeting around from his stares. He knew he was a very influential man in the whole city. He was highly respected by the country's president himself. So it was natural to get anxious when in his presence.

But he didn't quite like it if this 'Bai Yulin' was too tensed up.

He had heard from the bodyguards outside that this woman was his grandson's girlfriend. So he was curious as to what she had that made Ji Haishan choose her.

He knew Ji Haishan's hatred towards women couldn't be diminish in just a single click of fingers. He also knew what his grandson had to endure in the past that made him like that.

So, he really wanted to see what this 'Bai Yulin' was really capable of. And so he said "I heard you're his girlfriend. Did you really save him? Or is that.. just a pointless claim of yours?"

Ji Haishan narrowed his eyes briefly and pursed his lips. Then he stood up straighter. He couldn't believe that the old man was doubting 'Bai Yulin'.

With a light smile, he said "Yes, I'm Ji Haishan's girlfriend. It wasn't a lie that I saved him. I was also attacked by Hughes Wang, Ji Haishan's uncle's accomplice. So I knew directly that Ji Haishan was in danger."

Taking a deep breath, he added "We're also living together. I somehow knew that he was still in the condominium complex because of how advanced the security is at the entrance post."

"I was also the one to notify Li- I mean Mr. Gao.. that he was in danger." at this point, Ji Haishan's eyes were starting to trail lower and lower. Until they met the floor.

".. I'm just so glad that I arrived so fast.." his words got choked in his throat. There was a lump there that restricted him to say more.

Ji Haishan recalled the state Bai Yulin was in when he first saw her. There was blood trickling down her forehead. It didn't stop. The color of red and the smell of iron assaulted him at the moment his eyes were glued on her.

"I see.. I understand." Ji Zhang nodded to himself as if he was satisfied.

This woman looked fragile on the outside but she was very strong and determined. The way she straightened her back and talked about the details were full of confidence. Her eyes were hard but they were saying the truth.

She was perfect for Ji Haishan. Now he knew why Ji Haishan was able to get rid of his hatred on women and tried to be in a relationship.

This 'Bai Yulin' might be his salvation.
