A few hours prior at Secret Sanctuary, Bai Yulin went back inside the elevator after sending Ji Haishan off.

She was so embarrassed when Li Rou looked at her with incredulous eyes. Li Rou must have thought that 'Ji Haishan' didn't want his girlfriend to leave because he might be bored at home without her.

Bai Yulin wanted to explain but she didn't know what to say. Everything she would say might sound like an excuse. Poor Li Rou had to wait for so long.

Bai Yulin heaved up a heavy sigh just thinking about it. Whose fault was it again?!

A few moments later, Bai Yulin arrived on the floor where Ji Haishan's condo was located. She went out of the elevator and slowly approached the door which had a plate written with 'Premium 371'.

Secret Sanctuary was a very high-class condominium complex. Its interior home design was divided by three different types.

The first type was 'Ultra' where normally rich but common people lived in. The design of this house was the smallest and it was true to its concept of minimalism.

The second one was 'Deluxe'. This type was usually where people like Hughes Wang would live. Mostly celebrities would be living here because the design of their house was quite spacious, there was also a mini studio in each of the condo unit.

Lastly, 'Premium'. Where people of too much wealth would be residing in. The design of every single unit was different. Before moving in, residents could hire Secret Sanctuary's interior designers to customize their condo.

This customization was fully up to the residents. They could do whatever they wanted with their place. Ji Haishan's place itself was customized by himself. He didn't like the coldness when he walked on the marble tiles barefoot, so he ordered for the floor to be carpeted.

70% of his living room was fully carpeted. A carpet was also placed under the dining table. The carpets inside his study were all fluffy ones. Bai Yulin bet that even his bedroom was fully carpeted.

It took her a huge amount of energy everyday to clean his place and she was always exhausted to death after that. No wonder Ji Haishan volunteered himself to cook. He didn't want to go to such trouble for cleaning.

'Smartass..' Bai Yulin scoffed inwardly. She was about to open the door after she put her hand on the fingerprint sensor.

But then- something happened.

Bai Yulin's neck was wringed back with force and her back instantly hit the door. She groaned in pain as her eyes suddenly went shut and everything else went dark.

A few hours later, Bai Yulin slowly opened her eyes as a dull pain assaulted the back of her neck. If she didn't know any better, she would say that her neck was cut off by a guillotine.

Bai Yulin tried to move but she realized she was tied up against the chair she was sitting on. Her chest went up and down in frantic. What was going to happen to her??

The thing that her entire vision could see was nothing at all. It was a dark small room without any source of light.

Then, the door was opened by a man in suit and the light was switched on. Bai Yulin could finally see where she was. This place was a storage room!

And surprisingly, she was still in Secret Sanctuary!

She was sure about it because she had once saw a cleaner on the complex lobby, sweeping the floor. That cleaner wore a blue uniform that was the same as the one hung over the racks just beside the door!

So this was the condo's storage room.

And somehow, knowing that she was still close to home was appeasing.

Bai Yulin didn't realize how she already put a label 'home' for Ji Haishan's condo.

Bai Yulin eyed the man closing in towards her. He was old, as old as her father but not too old. She didn't know who this man was but for him to kidnap 'Ji Haishan', he must be an enemy from other companies?

Bai Yulin was at least aware of economics war between different corporations. But she didn't know the details. The fact that she knew about this was mainly due to the various dramas she watched about chaebol's life.

Bai Yulin didn't say anything as she watched the man approach. There might be a possibility that Ji Haishan and this man knew each other so she couldn't just open her mouth and ask 'Who are you?'.

"How are you, Lu Haishan?" the man's voice was languid and calm but there was a pressing edge that could be identified within.

Bai Yulin raised her brows, surprised. This man knew Ji Haishan was a Lu!

The man didn't smile and neither did he appear too angry. He said to 'Ji Haishan' "I see you're working from home and you're having fun with your.. girlfriend."

Bai Yulin was once again surprised. This man also knew about her!

But how did he know?

Bai Yulin was starting to feel restless so she asked "What do you want?"

"You have no manners huh? I'm your uncle so give me some respect." said the man.

'Uncle?' Bai Yulin narrowed her eyes. Then, she chuckled as if entertained.

"You called me Lu Haishan but now you want me to acknowledge you as my uncle?"

The man was irked by 'Ji Haishan' and he pursed his lips in anger. Then, he himself began to laugh.

"Whatever. I'm taking back what's mine after all. After this, you won't have anything to do with the Ji's. Forever." he stressed the word 'forever' like he really meant it.

Bai Yulin didn't understand but she could somehow make up an idea. This uncle seemed to hold grudges against Ji Haishan because his things were stolen(?).

Or it could be that Ji Haishan was the real rightful owner of that thing but this uncle wanted it(?).

'That sounds quite wrong..?' she wondered.

When the man saw Bai Yulin not paying attention, he harshly gripped on her jaw. The sensation almost crushing her bone.

"Uhk- ugh-!" the man pushed Bai Yulin off the chair and she fell with a loud sound of her head hitting the floor. The chair fell together with her, crashing and breaking.

Bai Yulin felt like she was about to faint but she held on. She could feel the warm liquid flowing through her forehead and down to her face. She thought it was her sweat but it wasn't.

'This uncle is really horrible! He even hurts his own nephew!' Bai Yulin said inside her head.

She thought it was alright if it was her who had to endure such treatments. She couldn't imagine if Ji Haishan was the one to get mistreated like this. Her heart hurt everytime she tried to think about it.

Despite feeling the ache all over her body, Bai Yulin glared towards the man. Her eyes piercing.

'I'd rather be the one to face rotten oldies like you. I'll never let him suffer!'

At this moment, all she thought about was to pretend to be Ji Haishan perfectly and wait for rescue. She would be willing to take Ji Haishan's place in spite of any danger.
