Chapter One

The rain fell so hard, and had no pity on the people patrolling under it impact. The sky was darkish gray, making everywhere seem dull. Even the captives walking beneath it doesn't seem to care at all about the hard plastering on their head.

Elsa grabbed the seams of her gown, trying so hard not to step on them, and that made her moved slower than expected. The men holding them captive hadn't given them anything to eat since the day grew and she felt weaker than she'd ever felt before.

An older woman, walking behind her bumped into her and she fell sluggishly.

"Get up, you fool!" One of the captors said, grabbing her by her hair and dragging her up.

"I'm sorry...I'm sorry" She said quickly getting up and trying to disentangle the man's hand from her hair.

All her life, She had never been brutally treated the way this men treated them.

They had come to their hometown, scattered everything, everywhere, burned down every single house to ashes, including hers. Killed so many people. Many children. Pure innocent souls. Elsa felt her cheeks dampened with tears and she wiped them off quickly. They mustn't see her like this.

Her family had died in their fate, and now, she was the only one to carry on their name. If she wasn't even killed before they reached wherever it was they where going to.

And now, the captors have taken the young men and women, people who they deem fit and see they're capable to work and probably satisfy their lustful desires.

Thank God, the gown she was wearing was not a body fitting one, it was actually the one she'd been on when she was working with her now dead brother in their fathers vineyard. Thankfully, It didn't bring out all her womanly curves like her other gowns would. It was also extra long, making her seem like a child, not the twenty two year old woman that she was.

"Keep walking everyone, hasty your steps, 'cause no food for anyone who delays us"

The troops of people quicken their paces so as not to anger these men who has taken them away from their Homeland, brought them far away into the wilderness in starvation.

"Oh Lord, please guide me. I'm still too young to die..."

Elsa prayed silently.

Lucan Strode into his too large and extravagant office, meeting Lewis, his Beta. As well as his right hand man already standing there.

"Good morning Alpha" Lewis bowed.

"Morning Lewis, Any news?"

"Yes sir. Greg sent a message that they're on there way back with over hundreds of captives"

"A hundred? Aren't they supposed to be more than that. I expected more"

"Yes sir, they're more than a hundred. We wouldn't know the exact amount until they're here"

Lucan heaved and signed angrily, sitting down abruptly on his gold chair behind his massive desk.

"But I think I told them not to kill anyone, bring them the way they are!" His cold voice sent Lewis taking few steps back.

Being the Alpha of the Cyprus Pack seem to be no joke. He made sure to warn his people never to attack travellers and even invaders. Anyone seen trespassing on their territory should be brought to him and he'll deal with them by himself whichever way he want.

He was a deadly Alpha, and that made everyone too scared to even look him in the face, except Lewis, his Beta, who could tell his mood swings right away.

Lucan isn't easily tempted, he isn't easily impressed either. And he always made sure of the full time safety of his pack.

A month ago, an human as they usually call them, was seen trespassing on their territory. He had entered into the Cyprus Pack at night and had killed a night watchman wolf who turned out to be a family of lucas, when he wasn't looking, and also his heavily pregnant wife who was soon to deliver. His Nephew.

Lucan had been furious and had asked them to bring the man when the news had gotten to him. The man as he had expected, wasn't sorry for what he did, which made Lucan more furious and had asked him to be killed.

With more information, he had found out where he was where from. A small hometown, really far from them. Lucan had sent his men over to bring everyone over. So he could punish them truely to his satisfaction. Killing a member of the Cyprus Pack means killing an entire nation to Lucan. But he wasn't going to kill these ones, He would make them their slaves, and make them work so hard till their bones shattered.

"My Lord..... they would be here any minute, Where do you suggest we put them, until the rain is over?"

"Make them sit under the rain!" This is where their suffering began.

"Shouldn't we provide them shelter, The cold may..."

"I said.... Make them sit In the rain!"

Marcus boomed out loud, His loud voice made the maids cringe and the men working outside hastily gathered their belongings and left. That was the kind of fear he surged I'm everyone. The whole pack feared him to the core.

"O... alright.....my Lord, I'm sorry"Lewis said bowing slightly.

Even, Lucan thought, he wasn't angered by the captives that were about to arrive, what angered him most was the fact that at thirty two, he hadn't meet his Mate.

Most men his age are married with kids. But what could he do when the moon goddess forgot about him, refusing to give him a Mate.

"My Lord, are you still thinking about your unfound Mate?"

Lewis asked already knowing the answer.

"As an Alpha, My mate needs to be by my side now! This is the time I need her the most, but the Moon goddess is for one crime which I couldn't remember punishing me and not giving me one"

"Let your mind be at peace my Lord, you should be able to find your Mate, our Luna at this upcoming Ball that will be held for you. All the females in our pack and the other packs will be there. So you'll find your Mate surely"

His mate wouldn't come for the party. His Wolf told him.
