14 Chapter 14: New jutsu

<A week later>

"On come on, this is so fucking boring", I cried. This was currently our fifth time trying to find that stupid cat, Tora. "At this point, I think Tora should just be classified as a stray!"

I knew d-rank missions were boring, but this is on a whole other level. The only thing we've been doing was pulling weeds, catching that stupid cat, or helping old grannies with their groceries.

"Shinra, language!", retorted Kurenai.

"Oh come on Kurenai-sensei, how many times is that cat going to run away, and why is it so aggressive. I'm not kidding, I think it should be put down."

"Shinra!"

"Alright, alright I'm sorry sensei."

Sensei may I add.", Shino spoke up. Kurenai nodded and Shino spoke, "although I do not believe in Shinra's idea to kill the cat, I think we are ready to take a C-rank mission."

"I-I think so, too sensei", whoa look at that Hinata finally spoke up.

"Sigh, fine. Tomorrow we'll take a c-rank mission, but only at the lowest level."

"Whoa let's go sensei, finally something will happen," I exclaimed, this time I was more motivated to look for that stupid cat. I wonder if team 8 did a c-rank mission in the original canon? I hope I didn't do anything major, I'm still too weak to deal with any unexpected changes in the timeline.

After finding the cat and returning it to the owner, Kurenai began to speak to us again.

"Since we will be going on a c-rank mission, I want you guys to test your chakra nature," Kurenai said handing us chakra paper.

"You guys know how to use it, correct?"

"Hai sensei. We input chakra into the paper, if we have a fire affinity the paper will turn to ash, a wind affinity will cause to paper to split in half, a lightning affinity will cause the paper to wrinkle, a earth affinity will cause the paper to crumble, and a water affinity will result in the paper getting damp." spoke Shino, repeating what was in the textbook.

"Good, I want you guys to test your affinities."

Well, since I could already control electricity I should probably pretend to have a lightning affinity. Used vectors I forced the paper to wrinkle. Creating new vectors is way harder to do than just redirecting and controlling already existing vectors, so just that action already left me feeling tired.

"So Shinra has a lightning affinity, Shino has an earth affinity, Hinata has a fire affinity, good. Now I want you all to go to the library and learn a jutsu that pertains to your affinity, since your all genin now there should be some decent jutsus. We'll come early tomorrow to get some more practice."

Kurenai flickered away.

"Alright guys! I already have the same affinity as my dad so I will be asking him to teach some jutsus." I left, waving goodbye to my teammates.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I told my parents about the c-rank mission we will be doing. My mom was initially worried, but dad managed to persuade her to let me go.

"Hey dad could I borrow a couple of coins."

"For what?", he asked.

"I wanted to test out a new jutsu, but I need some coins. Just some copper one".

"A jutsu that uses coins huh, never heard of that one before. Its gonna be an expensive one." laughed dad, before handing me a couple of coins. "Try not to get into debt cause of that jutsu."

"I will dad.", I laughed, clutching the coins I ran to the backyard in order to test out the jutsu.

I turned on my 'Eyes of God', and filtered out all the vectors so that the only ones that remained were for electrical and magnetic fields.

I threw up a single coin, and ignited my hand with electricity. As soon as the coin was at eye level, I attempted to imbue with electricity and launch it 'Railgun style'. Unfortunately, the the intense electricity caused the coin to get destroyed. I tried it a couple of more times, but it was always the same result. If I use too little I'll basically flicking a coin, if I use too much the coin will get destroyed.

"Fuck! How did Misaka do it.", I thought frustrated after the tenth failure. "I read up on how the railgun worked on the wiki, but how the hell could I remember that".

Immediately I began pouring Ki into my brain in order to jog my memories. I started to recall memories, of my family and friends, of other people, of all my school subjects, and finally of all the anime and games. "Ah I see, I finally got it." I was initially mad that I had to waste so much Ki just to get my memory, but I finally got how Railgun worked.

I grabbed another coin and threw it into the air. This time I slowed the descent of the coin so that I could have better focus. First I activated two parallel currents flowing on either side of my hands. One goes through my palm, while the other is going towards my body. When the coin is at the level of my hand, I stop its descent. The coin acts as a sort of bridge for the currents. Now the driving current has to go through the positive side and through the coin, then it has to come back through the negative side. Pretty complicated crap. (I just read this on the wiki, so don't flame me if the science is wrong)

Once I did that, to the best of my ability, I flicked the coin. To my surprise it worked! The coin was launched at impossibly high speed, with blue electricity tailing it. The coin managed to pierce through a tree, completely destroying a large portion of it. Alright now I needed to practice more, so I could do it quicker, and control the output. I didn't want to completely destroy a person's body, all I needed was enough force to at least blow a hole through someone.

So I began practicing, using that same method. Yelling out "Lightning Style: Railgun series 1".( I don't know just give me a name for the jutsu)
